I have other belts that are made of better quality leather, but by the time you put it on no one else would ever be able to tell that is the case, so why spend the extra? Even if this belt doesn't last as long, at the price you pay you can get a second, brand new one and still not have paid as much as you do for a "nicer" one. But the real reason to get this belt has nothing to do with price. I'm a picky person and hard to please, and this belt has a feature which I think sets it apart and makes it worth buying: the secondary loop. None of my other belts have a loop next to the buckle that slides. Small concern, right? Wrong. This means that the "tail" of the belt, the portion that sticks out from the buckle beyond where it is secured, does what it does. Sometimes it is fine, but if the belt itself is even a little too long, say you've shed a few pounds, then the added length causes it to stick out and look dumb. With this belt that is a non-issue since you hold that portion tight to your waist.

I selected this belt because it's offered in the right size. Altogether too many belts nowadays are sold in wide ranges such that the one I receive can be either too short or too long. The belt appears well made. The reasons for the three star rating are that the mahogany color is more like dark brown, and the belt is excessively stiff. I'm keeping it, but it doesn't seem likely to become more pliable. The stiffness seems to be in the material sandwiched between the leather face and the backing.
