We were camping when the lock on our camper docking station froze up. The key did not work and nothing I could do (lube, pliers, hammer) would get it to work. The camper is still under warranty (only 2 months old) so all we had to do was get the camper to our service center about 300 miles away. We did not want the door flapping in the breeze which I believe would have led to its demise so we purchased these 5/8 Inch Thumb Operated Offset Cam Locks. Very simple, fast and affordable. They were delivered right to the campground and after a quick swap, we were back in business.That's not the end, we took the camper to the service center and they magically fixed it. By fix I mean replace the lock with a new cam lock with a different key. Now I have to carry a third key, Ug! That did not work for me so I swapped back to the simple thumb cam lock and away we went. This cam lock is still working great after several months.This is a very basic cam lock. There does not appear to be any discoloration, rust or corrosion after several months. The cam turns easy, the installation was very simple. I only had to file down the cam locking arm a little to get it to work.I would buy again.

I'm in the process of adding drip irrigation to some of our garden spaces to make it easier to maintain them when we're gone for extended periods of time. These allow me to turn on and off different areas in zones. Be aware that they are designed for irrigation purposes and not rated for high pressure, so I would not use these in a regular plumbing line as they could potentially fail at regular house pressure. That being said, these are just what you need for an irrigation setup. They're easy to turn on and off with a quarter rotation and you can tell at a glance which lines are on by which way the handles are pointing.

I've had a road case with a NavePoint rack drawer in it for a few years. The key lock in the rack drawer never got used, mostly cause I didn't want to put another key on my keyring, plus I just never wanted to lock the drawer...But I did want to find a way to keep the drawer latched closed during transport.Enter: these thumb locks.After a bit of disassembly and measuring the old lock, I figured out that these locks would be a direct replacement, except maybe the locking arm might be too long. I suspected that the old locking arm could be transferred over.That is exactly what I ended up doing: I used the locking arm off the old lock with the new cam lock. I had to leave the old lock's flat washer behind, cause the new lock is juuuuuust a bit bigger than the old one and barely fits through the lock hole in the drawer...But it does fit. After swapping the locking arm over, the rack drawer can now be kept closed without requiring a key! I used them to change and accessory panel on my boat from screw attached to now tool less access with these. This will make accessing wires and other areas much easier for me.

I have 6 storage cabinets in my truck that all have different keys. It was a pain to find the right key for each lock so I swapped them out to these non-keyed thumb locks. They had a different shape for the locking blade that required some work with a hand file to make it fit...but well worth the effort. All six cabinet locks took me about 2 hours to swap and I couldnt be happier.
