5120 x 1440 at 120 Hz
Works with Acer Swift Edge 16 to drive my 49" ultra widescreen at 120 Hz. Sure, I could use the HDMI port. But my work laptop has mini DP, and it's more convenient to to just swap that cable. Wouldn't mind if it was a bit more flexible, but it's fine.

First few versions didn't work, but the latest one does (they kept working on it)
I used an Apple A1306 to connect my DVI display (Dell 3007WFP-HC with 2560x1600 resolution) to the Mini DisplayPort on my 2012 MacBook Pro. When I upgraded to a 2021 MacBook Pro, which has USB-C ports as display outputs, it seemed like a USB-C to Mini DisplayPort was what I needed, and the Jasput one had the right specs (it says "supports resolution up to 3840x2160"), so I bought it. It worked fine at half-resolution (1280x800), but not at full resolution. I thought I'd ask the manufacturer for support, but I can't figure out how to contact them.Follow-up: in response to writing the above review, TVBEST's staff contacted me and asked me to remove it in exchange for a refund, and when I explained that I wasn't interested in a refund, but was interested in addressing my problems (not working at the advertised resolution, and not being able to get support from the manufacturer), they offered more money in exchange for removing the review, and when I said no again, offered even more (saying "Please help me out"). This led me to wonder whether the reason that the specifications were misleading and the comments didn't mention the problems I'd encountered was that previous customers had been paid to remove them.Follow-up #2: After adding the first follow-up to this review, somebody from Jasput contacted me, and offered to send me other adapters to test. They tried twice; neither replacement adapter worked. However, they did update the product description to add a "doesn't work with" section so that future customers wouldn't have the disappointment I did.Follow-up #3: After several months, they sent me another version which has so far been working flawlessly, so I'm changing the review to five stars.

Buyer Beware, Though Not Seller's Fault
Originally, bought this adapter when I was having issues with my '15 iMac but it did not help. But I ket it knowing that a new Mac was in the future.Time came with purchase of Mac Mini M2. Still does not work. Most sellers have vague descriptions of what connections will work or not as did this. But it is DisplayPort only, NOT Thunderbolt 2 so it does not work to connect devices (external drive) with a DisplayPort to a USB-C (TB4) .Apparently Apple is the only one manufacturing a true TB2 to TB 3/4 adapter cable.

This little dongle saved me thousands!!! I thought I had to buy new displays!
so I just upgraded my old lady laptop from 2015 to a new MacBook Pro with all the bells and whistles, a huge but needed investment. I spoke to the apple store guy about my old cinema displays and if there were any adaptors for them at all, the guy just laughed me off and said no. which meant if I wanted to work with a display id have to upgrade those too and that would be another several thousand RIP.I was fully prepared to make that investment till I decided to look around here and try to find an adaptor and I come to find this one, as a complete shot in the dark, I ordered one. after all, if it doesn't work at least I can return it BUT to my amazement these suckers WORKKKK. these displays are from the early 2010s and they are still working for my laptop!! I got a second one too for my other display too, and I couldn't be happier. The best purchase I made, saved me over 2k. Dear Lord, now I'm annoyed at the apple store guy for getting my hopes crushed at the store.

USBC-MDP Adapter
Works for Apple LED Cinema Displays that have mini DisplayPort connections going to Mac Studios. This is not for Thunderbolt connections. Apple TB3-2 adapter did not work for the same scenario. This can display 4k. Unknown brand or build quality, but good price, secure connection, and small footprint.

Saved my system!
I was unable to get anyone in tech support at Apple or OWC to advise me on how to connect Mini DisplayPort to a new Mac Studio computer. I bought two Thunderbolt 3 to 2 adapters, but they don't work. Finally I looked on Amazon for a Mini DisplayPort to USB-C adapter and saw this one.I ordered two for my two displays. I plugged them in, and they both work now!So, in addition to the various MacBook models listed, these work on the new Mac Studio computers with some Mini DisplayPort cables. I am really pleased. It was a great solution that cost very little in money or time.

It's a mystery
I needed a USB C to Thunderbolt 1 and 2 and this one wasn't the one that I needed. I'm sure it works fine, but I just never returned it and I have it in case I'll need it for future. I did end up getting the correct one that I needed and that worked fine. Thank you.
