A good eMTB shock for a reasonable price!
My rear air shock on my eMTB started leaking air after a year of use. The cost of replacement at the local bike shop was going to be a minimum of $300, plus he had to search to see what shock would fit. I found this spring/oil shock for $79 and thought I’d give it a try. I had spring shocks on a Proline full suspension mtb and road trails and raced and loved the way the bike performed. Before you order be sure to measure the distance between the center ofthe two mounting holes with the old shock fully extended. Mine needed a 190 mm length. The shock was easy to install. There is a video on installation that shows use of zip ties to keep the rear shock fully extended. I had to switch the two metal sleeves on the new shock, but this was easily done using a hammer and flat blade screw driver to knock out and switch the sleeves. The shock rides and performs well. There are two ways to adjust the shock: a spanner nut that adjusts spring tension and a knob which adjusts which controls rebound speed by turning one way or the other. Overall this shock isn’t as smooth riding as the air shock. It’s also states on the shock description that it is not designed for big jumps or downhill riding. I’m too old to shred anymore, but I did a lot of shredding, racing, and downhill back in the day with my full suspension spring shocks and lived to still ride today. I do recommend these shocks.

Sizing information for you
Holding one star for longevity. The shock is 190mm 1500 pound spring. It worked accordingly to the manufacturer chart. The rider plus mid drive E-conversion is 240 pounds. The adjustment for dampening doesn’t have a huge amount of effect, but the shock controls peddle bounce in the middle position very well. The shock on this type of suspension is very lightly preloaded.

Shock makes annoyingly loud creeking noise!
Shock making annoyingly loud creeking noise. The Seller had me take it apart and rotate, which I did. I even put some expensive marine grease on the shaft to try and solve the problem. I gave the Seller and opportunity to make it right but they ignored my emails after that so I will not be trying another one.

Great for big guys
Great for big guys. I added the 150mm 1500lb to my Jaison ebike. No longer bottoms out and rides great.

Take proper weight and measurements
Yeah, I’m really surprised at the price you’re paying for this shock. Not everyone needs a $400 downhill mountain bike shock from Fox. If you’re just riding around town and doing some light off-roading, this shock great. ….. It’s perfect for everyday riding, like biking to the grocery store or having fun. Just order the right weight and length, and you’ll be fine. I’ve put 200 miles on it so far, and I’m about 250 pounds. Even after it settled in, it didn’t bottom out, and it’s still holding up really well. I highly recommend it for anyone who rides their bike casually.

Upgrade
Very happy. I an heavier and would bottom out with stock shock now no problem straight out of the box spring placement as well just perfect for me and my application

It works as intended.
I bought this to replace a more expensive air shock that was underspecced for the weight of my bike and myself, it works as intended, however i would benefit more from a 1250lb spring vs the 1500lb. With the 1500lb spring i had to turn back the preload all the way so the spring has enough tension to be held in and nothing more. Due to the lack of an inbetween option, i deducted a star for this. The Red Rebound Knob fell off somewhere during the first ride, thankfully i had adjusted the rebound roughly where i expected to want it prior to the ride, but i will now require tools to adjust this in the future, so another star was deducted. I have only 100km on the shock so far, will update if it disappoints me.

The damper does not work.
After riding with this coil shock and it's extremely bouncy. It does not dampen the compression, only the rebound. Even the rebound adjustment does barely anything.

Not compatible with my bike
Eyelets are a different diameter (slightly smaller) than Rockshox or Fox. Couldn't get it to fit on my Stumpjumper. Don't have time to create a graphic novel about it so I guess I'm eating the cost. Also quite heavy.
