This is good sea salt with a pleasant, shiny black color. Nice for finishing over salads or sides, or for rimming Margarita glasses. The color is only aesthetic enhancement, but it adds something to the presentation. Like most “volcanic” or “lava” sea salts, it has no connection to volcanoes or their rocky shorelines; “Hawaiian style” is simply good sea salt mixed with edible activated charcoal. Pricey but pretty!

great salt get some. if this is the black salt its not as strong as regular salt . my gf lukes the pink best but im down with the black salt

Outstanding salt.

I must first mention that I am not a foodie and this is my first time trying a salt that is not table salt or Himalayan pink salt. It was crunchier than I expected oddly. I did not taste any smokiness. It enhanced the visual presentation of the dish. I sprinkled it on but found the chunks to be big for directly adding to food. I recommend using this in a grinder unless you love hitting a big piece of salt. I do not think I would purchase it again but I may not be in the target audience. When I received this product it came unsealed as in the top was off, maybe it was a mistake in sealing it, or maybe it was tampered with. Either way, it made a mess.
