Not for 7year old!
This book came up searching for Math Books for 7 year-old, and it’s not! Even smart adults will have to think hard to get answers. If you do, you can make the 1% Club. Great book for family Christmas !!!

Good
I bought this for my great nephew who's 7 years old and it's keeping him busy. Maths is so important in life so any encouragement doesn't go amiss! He's enjoying it.

It's more difficult that it says, keeps adults and kids guessing.
Perfect size and font for the age range although the puzzles are considerably harder than the age billed. We found most of the adults were kept guessing. Nice format we hope she'll grow into it in a couple of years.

Great range of difficulty
The strength of this excellent book is the sheer breadth of difficulty from the obvious (which three numbers give the same result if they are added or multiplied?) to Cambridge tripos level brain fryers.

Great book, very addictive.
My 9 year old is loving this book. We try to do a riddle each night before bed. They are really well thought through and described. Also, calling the sections, “Difficult, Evil and Fiendish” makes every victory seem special.

Ok
It’s ok. Some of the ‘riddles’ are a bit naff and honestly just hard questions. Some are quite hard for kids I’d say. However it does have a section at the back full of answers and explains how to get the answer. My child although he is very clever for his age got fed up with it quite quickly as the riddles were all quite hard or confusing

I purchased *Math Riddles for Smart Kids* for my niece who loves puzzles and it has turned out to be a great book for both fun and learning. The collection includes a wide variety of math based riddles that challenge kids to think creatively rather than just follow basic formulas. The problems cover patterns, logic, simple arithmetic, and lateral thinking which keeps the book interesting for a wide age range. What I appreciate most is that the riddles are entertaining while still encouraging kids to practice useful math skills. Many of the puzzles are short and playful which makes them perfect for car rides, quiet evenings, or classroom activities. Some are easier and build confidence while others require more reasoning which keeps children engaged and wanting to try again. The layout is clean and easy to read. The questions are stated clearly and the difficulty level progresses gradually. The answer section is helpful for parents or kids who get stuck, and it explains the solutions in a simple and understandable way. The book is also enjoyable as a family activity. We tried a few riddles together and it created a fun challenge that everyone could join in on. It is a nice break from screens and a good way to stimulate critical thinking. Overall this book offers strong educational value while still being entertaining. The riddles are well chosen, the teaching aspect is subtle but effective, and the variety keeps kids interested. I highly recommend it for children who enjoy puzzles and for families who want a fun way to practice math and logical thinking together.

I use this book for my weekly classroom activity called “Riddle of the Week,” and it’s been a huge hit with my students. The math riddles are fun, challenging, and encourage creative thinking—perfect for keeping kids engaged while reinforcing problem-solving skills. The riddles are age-appropriate but still tricky enough to make students think, and I love that they spark great discussion and collaboration in the classroom. Every week, my students get excited to see what new riddle we’ll tackle next! This book is a fantastic resource for teachers or parents looking to make math fun and interactive.

Bought this book as a gift for our goddaughter because our kids loved it so much. There’s one more fan of it now. Great math riddles I can highly recommend.
