Pack of 10, 650 g, light peat-free coconut fibre potting soil, humus brick

Similar but not identical to others previously purchased. Makes an ideal potting medium and saves needing to use peat which is now heavily regulated. Coir discourages many soil pests and plant diseases. The individually wrapped bricks can be stored for long periods if kept dry but may later need slightly more water to rehydrate. The advantage of the bricks is that you only need rehydrate as many as are currently needed rather than store large bags or bins of pre-prepared material, ideal for small-scale users. Coir is ideal for seeding, planting out plugs or replanting more established plants to condition the soil from the hole and help fill it. It can also be dug into heavy, clay-based soils to improve condition and drainage for better rooting. When mixed with well-composted material and vermiculite or broken shell etc using recommended proportions offered elsewhere it becomes an excellent soil substitute. These bricks come with realistic instructions (although in German) that suggest using about 4 litres of fairly hot water, not boiling but beyond lukewarm, for most effective and fast re-hydration. A heavy-duty poly bag is currently used for preparation and initially contained within a bucket to constrain it, prevent water spillage and fibre loss; a 12-15 litre bucket will also work for one brick. Personal suggestion is to initially use slightly less water and only add more if light-coloured portions remain visible; when fully hydrated the fibre should be dark brown to black. Sometimes, a brick needs 'assistance' to break apart (using a trowel or metal dibber) to ensure complete hydration. The mixture should be allowed to completely cool over several hours before use.

I followed the instructions of ONLY adding 4 litres of water per block, and its just enough to be absorbed (I cheated and used hot water which absorbes faster). I've added the expanded coir to all my pots plants and used it all over the garden and the results are really looking good. I can recommend this product for the price and quality

A decent product. A single large block would be easier to re-hydrate than several smaller ones though. Not the most economical growing medium, but good for people growing things indoors who want some thing clean and not so messy.

I like the ease of carrying such a lot of compost in such a light and easy way. Only problem is the instructions are in German and I couldn’t find any translation (fortunately I read German!).

excellent service, delivery, product and price - I am a regular user of compacted coir compost, it's equally as good as peat compost etc, these compacted bricks are ideal as they are easy to store and you use just what you need, would recommend these bricks as a very good buy

So convenient!!! No moist, no bugs, easy to store and you can "saw off" the amount you need. It's also pretty cool to see it expanding. And I don't need to lift 20/30/50 kilos of soil in one go ^…^

Probably great for plants but when made up there was a very strong smell of disinfectant. States that it is fine for reptiles but I wanted it for amphibians and insects. Therefore I won’t purchase again.

Meinen Pflanzen gefällt es, sie entwickeln sich prima. Die Lösung in vier Litern Wasser klappt prima; nimmt man warmes Wasser, wird das Ergebnis voluminöser. Manche Ziegel lösen sich schneller auf, manche brauchen länger, das liegt wohl in der Natur der Sache. Wer so etwas negativ bewertet, hat keine Ahnung. Noch ein Vorteil bei der ganzen Sache: Ich muss keine 90 Liter Erde in Säcken in den zweiten Stock schleppen, statt dessen bringt mir DHL ein 6,5-kg-Paket. Übrige Ziegel lagere ich irgendwo trocken, es stehen also auch nirgends angefangene Erdsäcke rum. Am Rande bemerkt: Ich pflanze nicht nur Bubatz darin, auch meine Tomaten gedeihen in diesem Humus (pur, ohne andere Erde) wunderbar. Und noch eines: AUfpassen beim Giessen, dieser Humus nimmt mindestens doppelt so viel Wasser auf wie normale Erde.

facile d'utilisation , très pratique , je mélange avec moitié terre de bruyère et de cette terre de coco , mes plantations ont adorées , elles prennent bien , j'ai même réussi à faire des boutures , mes balconnières sont magnifiques. la menthe est très très prolifère , le basilic planté en graine est superbe . ravie de mon achat .

Es el segundo tipo de fibra de coco que compro y me gusta mucho más que la primera.

J'ai acheté ces 10 briques de fibre de coco plusieurs fois. Je les utilise pour faire mes mélanges de terreau. Aussi bien pour les plantes d'intérieur, d'extérieur et pour les semis. C'est exactement ce que je cherchais. Le prix est correct pour la quantité, et la qualité des briques est très bonne. Je continuerai d'acheter ce produit !
