Goiteia Polarized Flip up Clip on Sunglasses Mens Women

Well... 4.9 stars anyway. These clip-ons arrived very well-packed. The additional pieces, carrying pouch with "crab claw" fixing, and cleaning cloth were all separately packed into plastic bags, as were the actual clip-ons, and the whole set were then packed into a cardboard box, so there is virtually no way they could arrive damaged. The soft case is actually large enough. Several makes I've had which included a pouch, the pouch was cut small such that the clip-ons were a tight fit, and were short so that part of one lens was exposed to the elements. The cleaning cloth is a little thin compared with the ones I use on my camera lenses, but it works perfectly well. Moving on to the clip-ons themselves. These are decent quality clip-ons, the actual clip is right at the top of each lens and gives the very good depth, unlike some makes I've had where the hinge is several millimetres down which, with my glasses, causes a loss of useable lens area at the bottom. The hinge works beautifully, holding at just about any angle I move the lenses to. The gripping arms provide a good grip of both thick and thin lenses. The lenses are certainly large enough, possibly over-large for some, rubbing their nose, but a nail file will trim them back if you go gently, run the file along the edge, not across it. The lenses are polarized to a decent level, not quite as strongly as the brand which created the idea, but strongly enough to kill a lot of unwanted reflections. The colour is very close to a neutral grey and isn't dark enough to cause problems when walking into a shadowed area (before you can flip them out of the way), yet is dark enough to be comfortable in bright sunlight. They work as well as any other brand I've had in the past, and much better than most. Why the 0.1 deduction? Well, the nipples/condoms/teats/whatever you want to call the little rubber things that cover the gripping arms need to be glued in place. They come adrift far too easily otherwise.

Updated: 23/06/22025. Just replaced last pair I lost. My original review was harsh and too critical. I came to appreciate the polarisation —yes, they really are polarising—. I also appreciated that I could carry them anywhere and far more easily than a separate out of sunglasses. As I use varifocals, this is a big deal. The last point about a reflected image back at me, well, I got used to it. The advantages and cheap price far outweighed a little irritation which only occasionally occurred. ORIGINAL REVIEW ———————— I like these but I wont be using them much. The issue is the design. When attached to glasses, there is a gap between them and the lenses. This gap causes light to reflect back to me, making darker but also distorting what I am looking at. The effect is bearable and so I concede that they do the job as intended. I just think the general design is flawed. I have not been able to confirm if they are actually polarised either. I currently struggle to see that they are.

Brilliant and easy to use, just a tad too dark for my liking, but nicely made

These come very well packaged, with a neat carrying pouch and a cleaning cloth. They fit very well over my prescription glasses, and you can adjust the position of the clips so that the lenses, which are 40mm deep, don't bump onto your cheeks. They're easy to clip on and flip up and so much cheaper than prescription sunglasses, which I would only use a few days a year. The lenses are quite light (so a bit plasticky), but for this price, you can't expect miracles, and they'd be a lot heavier if the plastic was thicker.

I wasn't expecting these to be any good but found then so essay to use to the point that I've stopped using my actual sunglasses. I would recommend and I would buy them again

These fit on my specs easily & definitely shade my eyes. Only tiny problem is that I can't see a bloomin' thing when wearing them, which rather defeats the object of having them.! Very strange effect on vision when they are on.

These clip ons are a good fit for my glasses. Having the flip up option means they will be useable in in changeable weather. The polarisation is very effective
