This slow feeder does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Our dog was gluping his food so fast. It has slowed him down and he digestion seems a lot better. Also it doesn’t slip across the floor when he’s eating.You do however have to clean it after each meal as it does get very sticky. Apart from that it’s a really good buy and would definitely recommend.

This is a brilliant product, well designed and the dogs love it. Eating time is greatly extended. It has even worked with one of my dogs who used to be very reluctant to get out of bed and eat his breakfast - now he's there - no problem! It works just as well with wet or a mixture of both wet and dry food. Little more difficult if you want to add any tablets, not so easy to hide them. There are a few more considerations before you buy, especially if you have several dogs. These feeders are very big and the dogs need plenty of room to get all round them without getting into each others space - can't just stick it in a corner. Also they are not ideal if you are in a rush, although you can speed the time up just putting food round the outer edges but this defeats the object slightly. I agree with the comments that cleaning can be bit of a challenge (amazed how many people don't clean after each use?!) I have found it best to wash promptly before any residue has time to dry on. A good wash in hot soapy water (can do in a bowl, clean one half then flip it round) with the aid of a silicone pastry brush, this is perfect for cleaning round the surface and nodules, Rinse and leave up on their side to drain and dry - job done (a dish drainer is useful if you have more than one to wash). A final point to bear in mind - if your dog has "spaniel type ears" they can get quite dirty and wet, so if you don't want smelly, matted ears you'll need to give them a brush at the end of the day (if you don't already). I consider the aforementioned as minor negatives compared with the pleasure and aid to digestion the dogs gain. I can't praise the feeder enough!

I own a Jack Russell Terrier; I got him at nine months old from Battersea dogs home. They told me that he was found wandering the streets. I think this is the reason he scoffs his food (as he has been hungry in his life). He is now 5 years old and there have been a couple of incidents where he has regurgitated his food as he does not chew it. I asked the Vet to check out his teeth and there was nothing wrong with them and said that there’s not much I can do about it as he was a rescue dog and there was probably a period in his life where never knew where the next meal was coming from so he just scoffs. I used to breed JRTs many years ago. The JRT I had before this one developed ‘stomach bloat’, which is a serious and life threatening condition. He was 17 years old at the time (very old for a dog), and I was told he would probably not survive it. He did get over it after a 2 week stay at the Vet. Sadly he was never quite the same after and passed away 2 weeks after I got him back home. IF YOUR DOG BOLTS HIS FOOD AND ALSO NEVER CHEWS IT – and you want to avoid stomach bloat – (believe me it is the most upsetting thing and the dog is in extreme pain), then this is where this very intelligent dog feeder comes into its own. I have to say I was a bit sceptical when ordering. I thought that he would tip it over and start throwing it about, but the design keeps it on the floor and its reasonably weighty and ergonomically designed, so it stays on the floor and does not dig in the dogs mouth whilst he is eating. (I ordered the small one and it was fine for my JRT). It works well with wet or dry food and my dog actually loves it. As a bonus it gives him something to think about, and gives him a little bit of a challenge, and it definitely 100% stops him bolting his food. A fantastic product a well deserved 5 stars

I purchased this feeder for my 16 month Boxer dog. Very pleased with the product overall, has certainly slowed down her eating, no more gobbling, and she continues to enjoy her food and has no concern (and possible enjoyment) that her food is a little more difficult to get at ! I purchased this feeder, rather than smaller ones, given it takes her food portion easily. It is dishwasher safe, but takes up a lot of space in the dishwasher and is a little awkward to clean by hand (washing it immediately after use helps with that as food particles don't stick), and the only other disadvantage is its size for travel purposes, and the fact that food pushed outside the feeder messes up the floor, so I would suggest purchasing it with a lipped mat or tray (or feed outside).

Excellent product before using this bowl my puppy used to eat is food so quickly he was sick. It has slowed him down and is better for his digestion. It's a solid well made product which can be put in the dishwasher to clean. It's made from a strong plastic which ain't to heavy but is slightly on the larger size for bowls for dog food but would highly recommend it. I have been using Theo's product for a few years now and has lasted tremendously.

Fab item, sturdy and quite large. Unfortunately my breed of pets cant use this due to a flat snout (Pugs) I was hoping the feisty little Pug of the two would give this her best shot but on opening it, I could see she had no chance. I was going to return it but the P+P was half the cost of the item, so it wasn't worth the hassle. Decided to keep it as my daughter has dogs who can make good use of this item. It stops greed as the dog needs to work on getting the food from between the "pretend grass fronds" It is an innovative design and quite quirky. I would recommend you give this a try, it's fun watching the dog search for their biscuits and it also stimulates the mind and offers them a bit of a challenge.

The dog kept getting overexcited whenever his food was put out, and he would just wolf it down and sometimes start to choke on it. The solution: a feeder where he has to forage for his food. This one is great, as it looks funky and it keeps him from eating too quickly. It's not too difficult for him to get the food out - when I first presented it, he got a bit frustrated as he didn't know how to do it, but now he gets excited when I pick up 'the green thing' as he knows he's going to get his kibble. Now he's a bit older, he doesn't seem to choke on his food so much, but I still use this to feed him a lot as he seems to enjoy it and it prolongs his enjoyment of his food a bit more (and means I can eat mine without him instantly coming over to see if he can have some!). He also genuinely seems to enjoy the foraging aspect so it keeps him entertained for a bit as well. He also likes the Brick problem solving game (where he has to move tiles to get kibble) but I think he prefer this as there is more kibble going and it lasts longer!

I have a small terrier who breaths in food and then bullies my giant breeds away so he can eat theirs, he's an absolute terror at feeding times. I thought I'd give this a try to see if it really did slow him down, and it worked! What used to take him 10 seconds to eat now takes 10 minutes PLUS. He's still eating after all of my other dogs are long finished, I'm able to tidy everything away and he's STILL going! It's fantastic, he thinks of it as a game and gets very excited when he sees it. The mini size is perfect for a smaller dog, he has to use his nose and tongue to push the food to the edges of the feeder to get at it. Thinking through each piece and he goes, tail wagging the whole time. The feeder is really easy to wash, either run it under a tap as you do with normal bowls, or put it in the dishwasher. It's non slip so whilst on the ground it's not being knocked around, and is heavy enough that it can't be flipped. Definitely worth the investment!

My initial reaction to this product was concern...I have an 80-pound Bull Mastiff mix, and he seemed frustrated the first time we used it. But that worry was subsequently gone the next round. He quickly figured out how to navigate this very unique and effective feeder. Is it full-proof? Depends on your dog. Obviously, this thing challenges...I mean, look at it! It's like nothing else on the market! And I would bet that it serves most dogs just as it was created to: by pouring the dry food throughout the spikes, "guzzling" is all but eliminated. Unless your dog is like mine. He definitely maneuvers the spikes, catching individual kibbles in the process, and he successfully pushes them out the sides, just like he's supposed to...but he also jostles the thing to knock out his nuggets, sending them sailing in great numbers. Once freed, the emancipated nuggets are consumed in a hurry - though still not as fast as bowl-feeding would allow. He still has to track them all down, and that does create a slight delay. Fortunately, he hasn't figured out how (and may never be able to) tip the thing over to fully empty the contents, so he has to return to the maze to complete his mission. So, if you're compulsive about neatness and order, you'll want to disappear while your dog eats if your beloved canine is as aggressive as mine. My dog quickly figured out it was easier to knock the thing around than it was to use his tongue to dig them out. The product is wonderfully sturdy, properly weighted, and skid-resistent, but it isn't made to replicate the traditional feeding process in any way. This is a game, exercise, fun work for dogs! As a spectator, I am hugely entertained by his technique. And because he is so eager to get at those nuggets, I never doubt that he'll find the farthest flung :D This is a superior product, both in its construction and design. It does exactly what it is meant to do, which is slow my dog's roll when it comes to inhaling his food. Laughter is the bonus for his human. Your dog may not be as brutish as mine, and you may not get the "show" I do, but ANY dog that eats too fast can benefit from this product. We've been using it for several weeks now, and I highly recommend it!

Interessantes Teil. Da unser Junghund (9 Monate, ca.37kg) arg schlingt, wollten wir es mal ausprobieren. Wir haben auch einen "normalen" Anti-Schlingnapf in Gebrauch (2-3 Minuten). Heute gab es zum ersten Mal den "Green" mit 2,5 Tassen Trocken- und einem doppelten EL Nassfutter. Es hat gute 3 Minuten gedauert, dann war alles weg ;) Hatte aber auch nichts anderes erwartet. Beworben auf der Verpackung waren 15 Minuten, nun ja ;) Trotzdem volle Punktzahl wegen dem Prinzip und der Hund hat es sofort akzeptiert und kein Problem mit dem "Green". Bei kleineren Hunden mag es besser funktionieren. Vllt. gibt es doch mal eine XL-Variante mit höheren Noppen.
