Easy install and works great. The guy at Best Buy said it couldn't be done without 3-4 powered units to make the conversion, this did it in one step and was far cheaper.

This lil gem made the difference in My Sound for my 65" TV ,its Great!!

This worked perfectly to connect an older style component with RCA audio outputs to a newer style TV that had an optical-in option. Our RV has a component that lets you select from various input sources and would have sent those signals via RCA cables to an older TV with those inputs, but now with a new flatscreen you just don't find those RCA inputs anymore. This was a great fix for our issue

You plug one end to your fiber optic output on your TV and the other end into the rca audio input on your receiver. You can power the de ice by plugging the usb into the usb plug on your TV or any usb power brick. The sound is clear but not as good as analog. I enjoy it although its hard to know if it's truly a 192khz device.

Did not work for me just static through the speaker..

As a frame of reference, my current audio setup for my TV is as follows: TV audio (historically has been AUX or a headphone jack, but new TV is missing these) -> subwoofer (has L/R in and out. Volume and crossfade is also controlled here.) -> soundbar (also AUX in from subwoofer) This has worked well. Only real problem is volume control, but in the past I've been able to configure both the TV and soundbar volume independently to accommodate this. With my new TV, only the optical port is available. Unfortunately, my subwoofer is a bit outdated,but still sounds good. So I opted for a piece of kit like this adapter to handle this. Off the bat, it's as simple as plug and play. No extra hassle or steps needed. TV may have a process when fir plugging in new optical audio devices, but besides that, no headaches with installation. L/R cables are hard wired. So if something goes bad, you'll need to replace the whole adapter, unfortunately. Volume control is the only real problem with this adapter. No long is the TV volume used to control the optical port volume. That's a responsibility left to the optical devices themselves. So things may require a bit more manual tuning depending on your setup. If you have a receiver you can bypass this issue outright. But I'm working with what I've got. Ultimately, worth the price, so long as your aware of the limitations and prepare ahead of time.

Muy practico

Easy to set up. Connects perfectly from optical digital output on TV to RCA analog input on my somewhat dated Marantz amplifier. All sound output from TV no matter what source (TV box, streamed programming or DVD player) is of good quality. Only inconvenience (a minor one) is that amp. remote has to be used to control volume.

Works as intended. However if you plann to you use it with your Samsung TV to connect your analog stereo system, pls keep in mind that volume ajustment wont work from TV remote.
