My 1045/1060 Full Tang Katana Steel Handmade Forged Samurai Sword, arrived a couple of days ago, and it is an exceptional value for the price point. Very well made, light weight, and sharp enough to do damage upon receipt. I have spent much more money on most of my collection, none of which came sharpened. It came faster than expected! I ordered it on a Monday, and it was expected to arrive that following Saturday. To my surprise, the blade arrived Wednesday afternoon! That was wonderful to come home to. The blade looks just fine. I’m not an expert or anything. It was packaged very securely, and it comes with a wrap, similar to a gun sleeve, to protect the piece as a whole. It’s not the sharpest thing in the world, which wasn’t my priority. I like knives and things, so naturally I had to add a katana to my growing list of things. It’s a gorgeous sword. The weight, as I’ve never held a sword before, seems fine. It was meant to be a two-handed weapon anyhow. I can’t say much on the quality, as, again, I’m not an expert. Sturdiness as well, I’m unsure. I don’t plan to use it to cut things or to practice any type of swordsmanship. If you want to do that, I recommend a higher dollar sword, preferably from a shop specializing in swords made for active use. The handle is wrapped well, the saya is gorgeous, and it came relatively quickly. For 60 dollars, that to me is beyond satisfactory. I highly recommend this to anyone who wishes to own a katana for aesthetic value. I do, however, have a few tips for anyone owning a sword like this, or any, for any purpose. I did a decent amount of research on care for blades. I know guns need to be oiled ever so often, even if they’re not in use, and that you need to take care not to get them wet, not to touch them with your hands, etc. Most people who own katanas, both collectors and those who are practicing swordsman, seem to favor sewing machine oil for their blades, as it’s not too intense. They recommend applying oil to your blades every six months, more often if you live in a wet/humid area. When carrying the blade in its sheathe, it’s better to carry it with the sharp side up to keep it from rubbing the sheathe and dulling faster over time as you draw it out. Be mindful of this. And again: don’t just put your hands all over the blade! Only if you’re cleaning it or intend to clean it after. It will corrode it so much faster, especially if you have naturally sweaty or oily skin. That is all. Highly recommend this as a gift to anyone you know who loves knives/swords (and that can be a gift to yourself too :) )

Very sharp ! My husband spent time in Japan and is an honorable marine vet. He loves collecting things from his travels in service. I love to make him smile and relate to what makes him who he is. He was very excited to receive this.

My son wanted to save up for a sword. My older son had gotten a katana last year and it was cool looking but not sharp, so I figured that would be fine. This thing came and it is SHARP! Lots of rules around supervision. One of his favorite demonstrations is slicing a water filled milk jug in half. Well made for the price!

I would give more stars because it's exactly what my son wanted but he got a product that was damaged.
