Baccarat Rouge 540 is my favorite scent of all time. Since it’s a bit pricy, I’ve been searching for a dupe and there are plenty that smell similar enough or have the same overall vibe but one of the things I love most about BR540 is the staying power. This Dossier Ambery Saffron is incredibly impressive, with both the scent profile and also the longevity. I sprayed this on one wrist and BR540 on the other to see how they would match up and after 6 hours I could still smell both. The BR540 was holding on a bit more than the Dossier but it was pretty close. For the price, I think this perfume is phenomenal. I was also really impressed with the bottle and packaging. It’s not cheaply made by any means. I love that the cap on the bottle is magnetic so if you like to carry perfume in your purse or other bags you won’t risk the cap falling off have it spritz by accident. If you’ve never smelled BR540 and want to see how close they match, I recommend using the website MicroPerfumes, you can get a sample vial, sample spray, or travel size of basically any perfume for a really good price. The sample vial of BR540 is like $8. The travel size is $35 for 5ml which is roughly 0.17oz, which is why this Dossier is such a great price, being 1.7oz. Literally 10x the size. I will probably continue to buy both, and I’ll use the Dossier for everyday wear and save the expensive stuff for special occasions or evenings where I need the scent to last for over 6 hours and can’t bring a purse or anything with me. I plan on trying more of the Dossier scents as well! Overall, 10/10

My expectations were low but I am very happy with this purchase! It’s close enough to Baccarat Rouge 450 for me - and I consider myself pretty picky when it comes to scent. As to staying power: first, I don’t expect a lot from a $40 dollar bottle and second, scents don’t last very long on me, no matter the brand or formulation. That said - I sprayed it a few times a couple of hours ago and can still smell it. I’m ok with spraying more than once a day given the great price. Overall very pleased and would purchase again.

I have wore several perfumes over the years including baccarat rouge 540. When I smelt this initially I thought this perfume was similar in some notes. I figured I would try it in order to help others who also enjoy that same (expensive) perfume to possibly find a semi dupe. Now, I went into this experiment open minded due to the varying reviews I had read. When I first got this perfume the smell off the cap is fairly similar with saffron and fir being the top notes that I could identify. After wearing for a week I concluded that this perfume is strange to me. I either get severe nose blindness or the way this scent carries on me is odd. I love the baccarat rouge 540 for the soft carrying smell that doesn’t over power everything and yet I can smell it all day with only one spray. It has been my favorite perfume I have had because it smells great and lasts so long (again without being overwhelming to me and everyone around me). This Dossier perfume is great upon the first scent of spray but after it gets onto my hair, or skin, or clothes, or even my pillow, it is gone. Completely gone, or so I thought. I usually spray the back of my neck and my wrists and starting out I just did my neck could not smell anything. Over a week of wearing I used a max of 3 sprays a day and yet I couldn’t smell anything. Went to a family dinner during the week and immediately my family without me even being near them ( and outside) said whoa what are you wearing and I just said the name “Dossier Ambery Saffron”. The two family members said that the scent was so strong it was making them uncomfortable. They said it wasn’t bad just strong. How I can not smell this one perfume out of my whole collection, I have absolutely no idea. It does smell nice at first, but after the spray, nothing it is completely gone for me. I personally don’t like being nose blind to perfumes so I can be aware of the intensity and longevity of the scent. I have never experienced any nose blindness like this with any other perfumes it’s crazy to me. The bottle itself is great it is nice looking and has a magnetic cap. Which I really like there’s no fear the cap will accidentally pop off. The fragrance I can not tell if it lasts long at all because to me it immediately leaves. EDIT: I can smell it now more often the longer I have worn it however, it is still very light to me. But others definitely can smell it and I have gotten lots of compliments since the first few interactions. I like this perfume just wish I could smell it more while I’m wearing it myself.

This smells exactly like Baccarat, except BETTER. I purchased a sample of the Baccarat before spending a ton of money on the whole bottle, I had no idea what it smelled like. Well turns out I HATED it. My husband likes that kind of smell, but I told him I just can’t do it, I sniff myself and I get angry. I purchased the ambery cherry from dossier and LOVE it. Thought I’d give this scent a try even tho I hated its ridiculous expensive counterpart. Im glad I did, I did it for my husband so he can smell what he loves, I ended up in love with this specific scent. Can’t wait to try all the others how fun. The strength of the scent doesn’t last terribly long but I do smell them all day, within my 9-10 hour days. Each of the dossiers fade into a nice scent. Love the price point, makes me feel like I should buy many 1.7 ounces.

The initial smell of this perfume I loved. But literally less than a hour after dousing myself with this, it wears off immediately. Not able to smell it at all. Disappointing especially the price for this sized perfume. 3 stars because I love the initial scent. Definitely not long lasting.

I bought this at Walmart over a year ago and I continue purchasing it. I receive more compliments from complete strangers everywhere I go. I work at a bank and people come in all the time mentioning how nice the bank smells; I'm fairly certain it's this scent they're smelling. One of my customers wears the actual Baccarat Rouge 540. She asked me if I was wearing it and when I told her it was the knockoff, she was shocked! She said she couldn't tell the difference. Love it!

Real talk. When I first got it, I was blown away. Scent was a once in a lifetime recognition. Like “ok, I get it.” Folks telling me I smelled good from 15 feet away. Girls saying I smelled “delicious”, and I still smelled it the next morning sometimes. I’m like alright, gold. I even bought a sample of the real scent and preferred the replica. Less Gran Marnier-ish. 3 weeks later tho I spray it on me and it smells like rubbing alcohol. I thought maybe I was just getting used to it, but it really is just flat, cuz nobody complimented my smell anymore. Idk if it’s old or weakens fast, and I don’t think your first use starts the timer, but perhaps 25ml would do better. My first bottle was stronger for not as long. Maybe I’m used to it, but i don’t think so. Next bottle came in and it’s still going so-so after a month, but it was never getting me called delicious. So it’s volitile/chasing a dragon. I read the real 540 reviews and they have the same complaints do 10x$ so yeah.

I love the scent and had purchased another one before this. I dont think the scent lasts on me.

A very nice dupe. It doesn’t last as long as I hoped but it’s the closet one I can get to the original.

1/1 to BR540 but only projects for about an hour then skin scent on me, delivery took 3 weeks which was poor, definetly not worth £44 but maybe if you get on Black Friday or a sale its acceptable, would just go for club de nuit untold personally, its not as close at all but lasts 10x longer than this.
