Don't labor under any delusions that this thing is going to magically distribute weight or anything like that. It won't. You are carrying your load on your shoulders. It's not super well padded, it's not super breathable. If you're looking for a bag that's going to be at your side 24/7 around the country or around the world, and be waterproof and super protective of all your stuff and be near weightless on your back and have 7000 pockets for all your little odds and ends, this ain't it. My husband is appalled at this bag, because his backpack has those 7000 dedicated pockets for odds and ends and he can't fathom life without that level of organization. And maybe my "forever bag" will have that.
