Fiskars Classic Stainless Steel Micro-Tip Scissors, Orange

Q: looking for very sharp, easy-to-maneuver, cut-to-the-tip (yet small/light) scissors to precisely cut details in 2 layers of felt - would these do?

They certainly will cut 2 layers of felt. They are very sharp including the tip. I bought my first pair 50 years ago & are still reliable and sharp. Bought a new pair for precision hardanger embroidery as my old ones were not really great on the detailed work. These scissors are an investment, I would never be without them.

Q: Are these any good for Pom Pom making?

Well they are my best scissors (I have small sewing and the tiny embroidery ones) and I would use a cheap pair of other scissors for cutting open a pom pom because it inevitably can strain the scissors a bit and cheap ones will do the job, so I wouldn't abuse my lovely Fiskar ones on it. Bu.t you could they would do the job

Q: Are these suitable for cutting fabric? I'm looking to buy a small, good quality fabric scissor for my daughter's textiles kit. Many thanks in advance!

Thèse are scissors you might use to snip off threads or to unpick a seam rather than cut out the fabric for a dressmaking pattern because it would be more ergonomic to use bigger ones, but they are sharp and good quality, and useful for cutting out dolls’ clothes, for example.

Q: Are the blades straight or curved please?

They are straight. Lovely pointed blades. ideal for needlework. Extremely sharp. Highly recommended.

Worth paying the extra for a first class scissor.

We have purchased this pair of scissors over and over again. My husband wanted to be economical and so ordered an unknow brand that looked similar to my regret.They were useless for fine work such a sewing.So money was not saved because we ordered Fiskars again. I am delighted whilst the others are consigned to cutting paper.
