I bought this capacitor after I had a service technician charge me $500 bucks to replace a defective one. I was told start here first as most times this is the first components to go. Simple enough I could change out myself and save big bucks.

I was surprised to find these capacitors on Amazon. This is the second time the capacitor has failed on my 20 year old heat pump. Both times it failed during a heat wave, of course. Bought this as a tool to diagnose a problem with a GE/Haeir dehumidifier. While slightly bigger than the OEM capacitor that I suspected might be the cause of the problem with the dehumidifier, it appeared to start up the compressor without issue. That still didn't fix the problem, however, so the investigation will continue.
