They run a bit small, go up a size.
I am suffering from extreme swelling to my leg, ankle and foot as a result of numerous DVTs causing venous insufficiency in my legs. These socks are a godsend. They are made of a nice, soft material and last wash upon wash, wear upon wear (although I do have a few on rotation). I wear the open toe variety as find them less hot and sweaty in the summer months and also it’s possible to wear casual flip flops with them too. Size wise, I’m at the top end and the size guide suggested I buy an extra large size. In the end I went for an extra extra large and was glad that I did as these worked out to be the perfect size. Not a nightmare to put on, partly I think because I have gone for the open toe. I’d advise going bigger in these socks if you are buying for the first time as they do come up a bit snug in size.

Well made but very tight. The person these were bought for does not have large/fat legs and was measured by professionals as size medium. However, the large size left deep welds round her leg just below the knee after 2 hours of wear and had to be taken off.

Very effective and long lasting which helps justify the cost. Recommended.
Prescribed to control swelling in a severely damaged lower leg, the result was very successful and so I purchased more as this will be a lifetime procedure for me to wear them. They fit well and are very comfortable. There is no drooping or 'bagging' at ankles and can be worn under normal socks. I bought both light and black colours. The size was determined at the hospital for me but it may be better to have a pharmacist size them initially, I found the chart useful but slightly confusing. There is a slight indentation caused at the top below the knee after wearing for a day but this disappears within a very short time after removal.

Activa compression hosiery, relief at last.
Just prescribed a pair by Dr for chronic venous insufficiency and lower leg complications. Needed more to cope with washing times, as will need to wear for life. These are high quality made and give comfort and the right support. They slide on with relative ease. They reduce my pain and discomfort and being toeless ,don't trouble my bunions. So pleased to get them so quickly.Would like toeless style in black too which doesn't seem to be available.

Very Pleased
It’s is always comforting to deal with a company who takes their customers’ requirements seriously. My wife did have a slight problem with the item, yet, within a very short while, when complaining about her purchase, everything was sorted out satisfactorily, coupled with a very polite apology. Highly recommended.

It still does not make a great deal of difference
I am 37 weeks pregnant and have recently started to have swollen ankles. For my level of swelling, this compression is supposed to be the right one, as advertised in their own literature. It still does not make a great deal of difference, but the worse was that after using 5 times, they laddered on the side of the big toe (not over it, so nothing to do with the nail rubbing on it). Very disappointing for the price. We are not talking about some cheap knee highs you buy at the supermarket. Complete waste of money!

Support stockings
These Support stockings are really very good, i'm a bloke of 18 stone and have got varicose veins, they stay up all day, I've got fattish legs and i get a little bit of sweating where the elastic goes under your knee but its no big deal. They are smooth on your leg (i only wear one) and they do the job intended, when i take it off the stocking leg is the same size as my non varicose leg, so, support they do.Activa got them to me within 2 days, with free shipping, i was so impressed i ordered another set shortly after.I would definatly recommend Activa for their stockings.

disappointed
I thought the 'open toes' would be perfect for wearing support socks in the Summer. No problem with the part of the sock between ankle and knee, but the opening of the toes was not right (too large), kept wrinkling, and consequently, the foot part of the sock never fitted properly. I won't buy another pair of those. Back to the closed toe version now.
