This is a great product to have on hand in case of a fire! I am keeping one in my vehicle and one near my grill!

First of all, pay attention and use the product as instructed and pay close attention not to get the fibers into your hand. The makeup of this item is such that it works fast and works well but care should be taken to know how to use it before you have to use it. The makeup of the sheet is such that it has fibers in it and those fibers can, like a porcupine, stick into your skin causing all kinds of discomfort. When compared to a fire extinguisher, though, this product works great in snuffing out the fire before it has opportunity to spread. One bad thing about using a typical fire extinguisher is the mess it leaves behind for you to clean up whereas the mess is minimal with these sheets as there is no spreading of chemical all over your counters, stove, or work area. The sheets can be mounted to the wall around your work area or kitchen and out of the way until they are needed and although you hope you never need them they are right at hand when you mount them properly and the instructions, if followed, allows quick deploying of the sheet to effectivly squelch the flames or prevent them from causing additional harm/damage and keep them from spreading to other areas. Again please read the instructions as how to deploy the sheets, how to grab them and what not to do because doing so can preven you from having the fibers cause injury to your body while deploying or using the sheets.

2nd order, as we needed more for family and friends. These fire blankets are super easy to use, pull the velcro tabs at bottom (we have ours hanging on walls for easy access) and the blanket comes out easily. Throw blanket on fire. SO much easier than a fire extinguisher, that has a learning curve and under pressure at that. You can practice using these blankets and refold and put them back in the bag. If you practice using a fire extinquisher, you now have one with less pressure. We have them in house, garage, and in the glove box. Also very good price!!!

Great idea

I haven't had to use this product personally but I feel safer knowing that I have them. I kept 2 for my home and gifted 2 to my daughter for her home. She had seen an advertisement about them and was getting ready to make her own purchase. I showed everyone in my home how to use them. We are prepared but hopefully we never have to use them.

I gave away some for gifts .Pleased with the looks and I hope to never use one .

I bought these years ago but both of my neighbors used one each. The sure do work great! Both situations were on a grill. Propane at that!

Got a few of these for gifts for friends with new homes. I’ve not tried them but I like the reassurance they bring as they are close by.

Got these a few weeks ago and can't really say if they are really good given that I haven't had to use them. I like the fact that this package includes 4 blankets for a reasonable price. I've got one in the kitchen (which beats finding and dealing with baking soda), another is obviously in the garage and yet another is in my car. The 4th unit I gave as a gift to my son. I feel more confident that I can deal with a fire mishap in all of these places which makes me happy.

I haven’t had to use these yet (that’s good). 5 stars because I like the simple concept/idea of them in comparison to the traditional fire extinguishers (which I’ve also never had to use). They seem easy to use in comparison. They are lighter and easy to store without them being in the way of activities of daily living. We have one beside the stove and one above the barbecue. Two went to my elderly parents to keep beside their antique wood cookstove and their barbecue.

Nice looking unit. It advertises that it's compatible with most dimmer switches. I bought a Leviton Decora Dimmer with Slide Bar and Rocker Switch, 15 Amp, DSL06-1LW. Installation went fine, but after about 20 minutes, the light started to strobe. Had to put the old switch back on.

My mother uses these as presents at gift exchanges. They always go over well with the men! Very practical. Mine is hanging in my kitchen. I've also read a tip to use them to wrap your Lithium Ion batteries when not in use.
