LED Light for Lego-10316 Lord of the Rings THE Lord of THE Rings: Rivendell Building Blocks Model (Lego Set NOT Included)

I was skeptical due to the price at first, but I had to try the kit for myself. It blew me away at every possible opportunity. The wires are the perfect length to be positioned with minimal showing and the instructions are very clear, showing the proper bricks or sections to remove to hide the wires perfectly. The wires are still visible from some angles but it doesn't take away at all from the final results. This kit does take a long time to do. I'm pretty handy with Legos and wiring and it took me about 4 hours to do properly. Note this is not a con, just a fact for light kits Very high value for money. Great quality. Great packaging. All pieces included as specified.

So cool — adds a whole other dimension to the set. Be warned, it will take a 3-4 hours to install, but the instructions are clear and easy to follow. Very satisfied.

I spent a while researching prior to purchase (some months.) I loved this set as it had different LED colors for misc areas. The install was very straightforward and instructions very easy to download. I did sway ever so slightly from the install instructions for my own preference of how the wires would hide a tad more, and for where their output would end up, for me to plug into my wall better. The original instructions are just as good, it was just a personal preference for those seeking if this can be done. It comes with the power box, it takes AA's. I preferred to use a USB extension to plug these lights into a standard power brick, to then plug into wall. This way, they stay on 24/7, no battery kill! The adhesive is 10/10, no falling now after months of installation. The lights are the perfect brightness, and not blinding. I cant express how awesome they are!

First off, the end result is beautiful and in my opinion was both rewarding and fun to install. That said, expect to take a day adding the lights and managing the cables. Patience and tranquility are an absolute must as there will be parts where a wire doesn't behave or you bump a piece out of wack that may table multiple careful attempts to repair. Loosing your cool during this build will result in the loss of this build as both the set and especially the cables are very delicate. Install this *after* the build has been finished. Pros: • Comes with tweezers that make the build significantly easier. • The downloaded instructions were mostly clear and comprehensive throughout the entire project. • Lighting the candles and lanterns was a neat touch and really brings the build to life. Cons: • The clear connectors meant to hold the candle flames were molded improperly and simply lacked the hole to insert the LEGO flame. A small modification to the LEGO flame allowed it to insert into their candle sticks directly. Was resolved, but I should not have needed to engineer a solution to their problem. • It does look odd that only half of the candles are lit up, especially foe the spaces lit candles are right beside unlit candles. They should have gone further. • A couple places really could have done with colored LED such as the Forge fire being orange instead of white. They do have some colored LED, but not enough. • A few parts of the instructions required shifting pieces around without showing this. Not many, but if it doesn't work be prepared to figure out a solution. • Cable management could be a bit better in some spots, but over all is good. In the end, I would recommend this for anyone planning on using Rivendell as a display piece, so long as they enjoy the process of building and engineering. If your goal is to just finish the product so it looks nice for minimal effort, you'll have a very bad time installing this.

This was time consuming and sometimes frustrating to install, but it looks amazing when done. Most of it wasn't that difficult other than the candles in the bottom floor, those weren't fun because everything is so hard to get to. I used a combination of the PDF instructions and the YouTube videos to get through it.

this set definitely has its pros and cons. it ended up being amazing, but took about 6 hours to put together. also, biggest issue, 4 pieces that came with it were faulty, see below. pros: 1. the lights came very well packaged. 2. I appreciate the inclusion of the tweezers with the set 3. looked gorgeous in the end cons: 1. I didn't like that the instruction manual has to be found online via QR code. it's somewhat annoying to have to scroll through a PDF on your phone. 2. there is a set of 4 small clear pieces for the flame lights in the center section. they are supposed to have holes to hold the small orange flames, however they did not. thankfully, I was able to swap them out with 4 of the same pieces from the Lego set itself that were properly made. if those pieces hadn't been in the set, I wouldn't have been able to finish the light kit. 3. the assembly of adding the lights to the finished Lego set is extremely time consuming, and requires dextrous hands and good eyes. I definitely scratched up a few pieces in removing them with the tweezers. That said, the end result is beautiful! please fix the faulty pieces!

This is a great light kit for the rivendell set. I got this to go with the set, so was able to put in some of the lights right when I built. Could be a bit difficult once the whole thing is built to remove certain pieces to get the lights in. But the set looks phenomenal with these lights.

The lights add so much fun to an already pretty epic Lego set. That said, it can get a little frustrating adding all the lights. I had a couple of issues with things coming apart and having to rebuild little sections. Watch for pinching wires in between bricks! It will cause them to break circuit if they are pinched too much. The wires will be seen in spots, you will need to find a permanent spot to connect them all, and trying to find hiding space for the connectors isn’t great. It’s totally worth it though if you are using this as a show piece.

The lights really bring the set to life! The price is not bad and the instructions are fairly easy to follow, but do not expect the clarity of Lego instructions. I was unsure how the lights would turn out but I think they look fantastic.

According to the photos on the product, the lights displayed is a warm light, but they are extremely bright and definitely overpowering, it’s a surgical white light and actually makes the whole castle look terrible. Quite a letdown after all the work installing it and doesn’t add any calmness and aura to what the castle is meant to be lit up like.

Very good quality set. Instructions are clear and it took me about 4 hours to assemble. Gives the set just the right ambiance.
