Easy to install
These are so easy to install. My husband is building a gazebo and we needed these to mount to our deck (Trek) and they went in so smoothly. There are extra screws if needed. Nice quality, great value for the cost, and they seem very durable. We've had them installed for almost a month and have had a few storms and they have held up well.

work as they should
base post are well made and easy to install, maybe the walls could be a tad thicker, the screws to install could be more stout and longer,, overall a good product, i just bought more,,

Very solid installation
Easy to install with a drill to pre-drill holes. A speed square is recommended, and a lite hammer will be needed. Overall, very satisfied with these. Once installed, they are incredibly stable! Only negative is either the inside dimensions they give are bigger than they say, or my 4x4 posts were milled down more than I thought. Very loose fit till all screws were in. Oh! All screw holes to hold the post are at the same level, so watch out for crossing the screws.

4x4 Post fits just fine.
I rebuilt our front deck from scratch, used severe treated 4x4 posts from home depot and they fit just fine, with room to spare actually. Not sure why so many people are claiming they don't fit, I had to countersink them to get them snug. Base is well made and sturdy, but do not use any of the screws provided, they are cheaply made and snap right off at the first bit of pressure. Get some structural screws and save yourself the trouble down the road. Other than that, great product!

“Finally, a Post Base That Can Contain My Structural Anxiety”
“Finally, a Post Base That Can Contain My Structural Anxiety” I purchased the FMhotu 4x4 Post Base 2-Pack after realizing my deck posts were showing clear signs of existential dread. Every time I walked outside, I could hear them whispering, “We were trees once… why are we square now?” I knew I needed something heavy-duty to restore their confidence, and boy, did these brackets deliver. First off, the powder-coated steel is so robust that I briefly considered using one as a replacement hip joint for my Uncle Gary. (Still waiting for FDA approval.) The internal 3.6" × 3.6" cavity fits a 4×4 post with the gentle snugness of a bear hug from a lumberjack who hasn’t slept in three days. Installation was effortless. The included screws were forged, I assume, from the same alloy they use to hold Jupiter’s moons in orbit. When I drilled them in, my deck made a noise that can only be described as “gratitude with a hint of confusion.” Structurally, these bases turned my flailing, wobbling posts into stoic soldiers prepared to withstand hurricanes, stampedes, or even my mother-in-law’s opinions. One of the brackets looked at me afterward and said, “Is that all you’ve got?” I backed away respectfully. Since installing them, the deck has stopped tilting whenever the dog sneezes. My neighbor came over, put his hand on one of the posts, and a single tear fell from his eye. “Solid,” he whispered. I nodded. We understood each other without further words. If you're looking for brackets that are: Ridiculously strong Emotionally supportive Slightly intimidating And capable of stabilizing both your railing AND your personal life …then these FMhotu bases are the only logical choice. I would give them six stars if Amazon didn’t cruelly cap the rating at five.

Not terrible hardware but not great.
The hardware provided is just not great. I will pay for better hardware 10 out of 10. The only saving grace is that I did not need all the provided mounts and hardware which allowed for left over supply that I could replace the screws that snapped the head off. The quality of the base plates are fine. They look great. It is an easy install. I bought this for the value yea, It's ok quality and yes you can make it work. It advertisers usable for concrete and that is what I used this on. I thing my review rating would be higher if my project was a wood base install. The hardware would be fine for wood application. Overall not terrible but not great , stylish design is nice.

4 x 4 Post Holders
Overall fantastic solution. Very strong . I would highly recommend using your own black construction screws as the ones provided are not long or strong enough.
