This device actually works. When the egg is gently pressed down the needle will poke a hole into the shell and then when it is submerged in the boiling water you can see the tiny bubbles. The shell does come off more easily when you peel the egg.

Egg piercer works well as described but from a design function a nonslip silicon base would function better than hard plastic slippery base that gives it a cheaper feel and function that slides on the countertop.

I saw somewhere that if you poke a hole in the bottom of an egg, it makes them easier to peel when you boil them. I got these about a month ago and have used them every single time since to make boiled eggs. I think they’re awesome. You unlock the button, you push the egg down, it makes a little hole, you boiled the egg and then the shell peels completely, and cleanly off. Can’t ask for anything more. The product is exactly as advertised and does exactly as it says it will do. Great value definitely would buy again.

I can’t live without this now!! As someone who makes boiled eggs often, this little kitchen gadget is a must. It pokes a tiny hole that allows water in around the egg, making it SO easy to peel when they are done! There is a technique to it though. You gotta make a decent hole without pushing too hard and breaking the egg. First, find the larger end of the egg and place it on the piercer. In one smooth motion, press down and punch a hole but stop once there is resistance. Look at the egg to make sure you can see a little hole, then go ahead and boil. After boiling, crack the outer shell, give it a little roll, place it back in cool water, then peel! It is the easiest peeling and most perfect boiled eggs ever! I’ve had this for years now and it still works perfectly. Good quality, genius little gadget that’s perfect for easy boiled eggs :).
