Piklohas Resharpenable Bread Knife for Homemade Bread, 10 Inch

Super impressed with this knife. When I got into baking sourdough, it used to aggravate me to cut a slice with a dull blade that would just squish the bread. This knife is like using a lightsaber it quickly and effortlessly slices even fresh baked bread. No more squishy squishy. I also cut through a tin can and then easily cut through a tomato (IYKYK). This knife is long, sharp and pretty. What else would you want?( Some facts may have been embellished for dramatic flair)

Despite trying to teach my wife that different knives are used for different purposes, she insists on using one old cheap serrated knife only for every single thing she cuts in the kitchen. Because she's the cook, and a great one at that, I figured why keep trying to fight it. I researched diligently on Amazon for a serrated knife that would serve in the 30 different capacities she uses her old worn out serrated knife for. I also wanted something that I could re-sharpen for her as I am a great knife sharpener, and this fit all the bills. It was built like a tank, is razor sharp, and has large cut serrated scallops on the blade which allow me to easily touch up the edge whenever this will be needed with easily avaible honing rods that aren't miniscule in size. Although I haven't had to sharpen it yet. Right when she used it, she immediately fell in love with it and abandoned her old flimsy dangerous thin bladed serrated knife. She uses this knife for everything. The only thing I wasnt sure about was which size to get, so I bought them both. you cannot go wrong with these knives and don't let the description of bread knife deter you, we cut meat, bread, vegtables, fruits, pineapples, and everything she needs to cut with this one knife and it has performed flawlessly. And trust me, my wife is an abuser of knives in the kitchen. If it's holding up for her, it should hold up for anyone. The large one (10") is pretty large, so she finds herself mostly using the smaller (8") for everyday cooking and food processing tasks. The blade style is so awesome and usefull that I purchased an even smaller knife in another brand because it had the exact same edge profile. I'd like to see Piklohas make this blade style even one size smaller. I cannot say anything bad about these blades so far and we are 5 months in on everyday use. I would buy this knife again and highly recommend it as a gift also.

This is a fantastic bread knife. What makes it even more fantastic is, it's great in the kitchen for lots of cutting needs. Solid, well made, extremely sharp, and a bargain.

Yes it is sharp. The divots on each side make it non stick to fruits and vegetables. It does cut my bread loaves better than what I was using. I'm a bit surprised it does not come with a protective sleeve. I suppose it is sharpenable with a DIAMOND steel. A carbon steel is just to straighten the edge, not sharpen. For a few dollars more perhaps they could offer a diamond steel and a sleeve. I would recommend it.

This is a beautifully-fashioned and finished knife. I'm very impressed with the weight and feel and the craftsmanship that went into it. An excellent value for the money.

This knife cuts sourdough bread as easily as butter! There is no smashing down of the bread and no crumbling. It comes in a very nice box that you can keep it stored in. I highly recommend this knife!

The best bread knife ever. The only thing I would have loved is a non-plastic handle, but everything else is perfect and it should last forever anyway since it can be sharpened and it’s so well made. I gave this to my friend whom I stay with sometimes, she messaged me after her first cut and said “it’s amazing!! Cuts like butter!”. I came over later with my own loaf of bread and on my first cut I couldn’t stop gushing about how smooth and effortless it was… nothing like all the other bread knives I’ve ever used in my life. Cutting bread is now a JOY. I said to my friend “just to warn you I’m going to be audibly amazed and in awe of this knife for at least the next two weeks”. Noticeably less crumbs too. I love the blade edge how it’s not a flat line, the slight curve is helpful. Very thoughtful knife. Also, it cuts so well I’m not sure you need the cutting board… I didn’t end up getting it and I’m glad I didn’t. Seems like it would be weird to cut horizontally and also this knife makes vertical cutting a dream.

OK. it's a bread knife. It slices bread. Normally I would not consider writing a review on such a utilitarian item, but I've got to say this knife really impressed me. My pet peeve with serrated knives is that they are almost impossible to sharpen once they eventually dull. This knife has serrations that match a standard sharpening rod, so it can be re-sharpened easily. Pure genius! Worth noting - I have been using it for months and it is still razor sharp, so I haven't had to sharpen it yet. It really does cut even dense, crusty loaves of bread effortlessly. The unexpected bonus was the ergonomics of this knife. It feels well balanced and the curved blade keeps your fingers well above the cutting board. The 10 inch blade allows you to cut through round, artisan loaves easily too. Overall, an excellent product.
