I’m really happy with this baby gate and am even considering getting another one. The instructions were clear, and it came with all the hardware needed for installation, which made the setup straightforward. The color is as expected and it looks good installed. Adjusting the length of the gate was easy, and the included blocks to keep it level were very helpful. Once installed, it feels secure and sturdy—exactly what I needed to keep my granddaughter safe now that she’s on the move. The one-handed operation and auto-close feature are convenient, and the price feels fair for the quality and peace of mind it provides. A solid choice for anyone needing a reliable gate for stairs, kitchens, or doorways.

This gate was mildly confusing for a minute, but I think the instructions are pretty clear. It’s super easy to install. Absolutely love this gate. A lot of baby gates have the little bottom ledge that you kind of have to step over. But we love this one because it doesn’t have any kind of ledge underneath it. It also opens all the way, which is really really nice if you’re trying to move stuff through it. And if it’s closed at all after being opened all the way, it will self close. It does close kind of hard, which makes me nervous so I just like to close it myself. It’s one of the best baby gates we’ve had. And I really recommend it because the kids are not figuring it out at all. You have to lift up a little bit to open it and so it’s nice cause my kids haven’t figured it out. And for anybody that has kids, you know the kids will figure out how to use the gate. I also like that it’s taller so that’s nice as well so the kids can’t climb it. It’s really sturdy and we love it. It doesn’t look weird being in the house at all. And we like the color. It’s just a nice crisp color. It’s not super heavy or bulky. But it’s sturdy. I would really recommend this gate and I think it’s really good for the price.

This is a well made gate. It’s relatively easy to install and adjust. It works well and opens and closes smoothly. It takes a bit of work to get the top latch lined up when you install it but once everything is lined up it will self latch easily. I like the dual action required to open it, it adds an extra layer of safety to keep crafty kids and pets on the correct side of the gate. It comes with a good assortment of hardware so that it can be installed in a wide range of areas. Mine came with a set of spacers that made it a breeze to set the correct height and adjusting the width is pretty easy. Overall this is a solid baby gate that provides a good value.

Appears to be a great product. I don't trust drywall to hold the gate up, especially at the top of the stairs. My install time took a little longer since I had to add runners for the section attaching to the wall. Otherwise install was more or less a breeze. I seem to have had some extra hardware, not including the drywall anchors. That's why 4 stars instead of 5, I just feel like I'm missing a step. I specifically got this one because it was low enough to go under my railing at the top of the stairs and it was easy enough. The locking mech seems secure enough that my toddler can't figure it out so I'm happy with that. It's simple enough to open and feels very secure. Once it's set up it doesn't retract or expand, it is a static width on final set up.

This is a nice gate that I put at the top of a staircase to baby proof it. Once installed, it has a good solid feel and a latch that is both easy to use but feels secure. It was a little tricky to install since you really have to line up both sides very precisely or the gate won't be at the right height to latch on the top and the bottom. There is an adhesive on the backs of the brackets to assist in the placement but none of the adhesive actually stuck to the surfaces. Also, it's hard to line up both ends unless someone else is helping you which was not my case. I actually had to adjust two of the brackets after I set it up to get them in the correct position. Fortunately, the adjustment covered the prior holes that I made. Once it was finished, I am happy with the product. This is one of those DIY projects that is not too hard to do and not too easy to do at the same time. I'm sure this would be the same issue with any similar products so don't let it discourage you from buying this one.

This piece of junk wasted hours of my life. As a mechanical engineer, I can tell you that it is very poorly designed and a total crapshoot as to whether it will install and work properly in any particular doorway. You can put it in a doorway and get it to open and close, but it probably will not engage both safety mechanisms consistently. That is not acceptable for a safety-critical application, such as at the top of a stairway. One part of the instructions is simply wrong. If you follow it as written, you are almost guaranteed to end up with an installation that does not engage both safety mechanisms properly. The product’s manufacturing tolerances are not good enough for the precision its design requires. Weld remnants on the sides of the vertical bars stick out. If your doorway happens to be a width where the vertical bars are relatively evenly spaced, you cannot install and tighten the locking plates without slightly shifting the gates. That changes the gate spacing and then prevent the locking mechanisms from engaging properly. The locking plates are also not strong enough to hold the gates tightly in place when you apply the force needed to lift the gate open. The gates shift, changing their alignment and causing the locking mechanisms not to latch properly. I had to grind down several weld remnants so the locking plates would sit flat. I also had to drill into the metal and add extra screws to stop the gates from sliding and throwing off the alignment. This gate requires more precise alignment for both safety mechanisms to engage properly than its design and construction can reliably maintain. It is a badly designed piece of junk, and I completely regret buying it.

We’ve purchased five of these No Bottom Bar Gates over the past couple of years, and they’ve proven to be an excellent choice for both keeping our dogs confined and ensuring our kids are safe from stairs. The first gate we installed was a challenge due to unclear instructions, requiring trial and error to get it right. However, the manufacturer has since updated the instructions, and the version from our most recent purchase is much clearer. That said, having prior experience with installation likely contributed to the ease this time around, so new users might still find it slightly challenging. This gate shines in areas where pressure-mounted gates fall short. The absence of a bottom bar is a game-changer. It eliminates tripping hazards (particularly important for grandparents, and for stairs) avoids damage to wood floors, and allows our Roomba to pass underneath for uninterrupted cleaning. We installed the gate slightly higher than recommended for this exact reason, which has worked perfectly for our household; Roomba works even with the gate closed! The gate’s full-width opening is another major plus. It provides ample space for anyone to pass through comfortably, and the dual-direction opening is a thoughtful touch. The auto-close feature works reliably, and the stay-open option is convenient when we need the gate temporarily out of the way. Construction feels solid and secure; our kid hangs from it constantly and it hasn't bent/warped. The double-lock mechanism adds an extra layer of safety, though it does take a bit of getting used to. I find the one-handed operation easy, but it’s slightly less intuitive for my wife and visitors unfamiliar with it. Overall, we’re very happy with this gate. Its combination of safety, convenience, and sleek design makes it well worth the investment. Whether you’re looking to keep kids safe or pets contained, this gate is an excellent choice. We highly recommend it to anyone in need of a high-quality, hassle-free safety gate.

This is Awesome. Easy to Install, Quality look & Feel. I think this will work great. You grab the top of handle and squeeze it down to unlock, then have to also lift the gate 1/8"-1/4" while squeezing the latch to get it to open. So I feel like it would be Very Hard for a toddler to open. We were concerned about our 10 month old Boy going down the stairs. This feels secure and sturdy. Looks versatile with adjustments. They send a barcode link to watch install videos which at first was confusing because there are so many models and we didn't even know what this one was called. The paperwork manual of course had that info. It was packaged well and safe. My only complaint would be the annoying warning sticker. They stuck everything else with zip ties why they had to put an ugly warning sticker that we didn't try to remove till after installed. That actually took longer than setting it up. The gate can swing either direction, but on the top of our stairs it would hit the top of banister of opening towards steps. Which works great because we did t want it to open towards the stairs. If opened 90 degrees it can stay open anything less it ramps down to automatically shut. That's if it gets enough momentum. I like it.

This is a great gate. No bottom rail to trip on. And good quality & sturdy

We were looking for a no-fuss, pressure-mounted temporary baby gate that ideally wasn't the usual ugly white cheap plastic crap. This metal gate exceeded all our expectations. Not only is it immensely sturdy at only a fraction of the price more than the cheap quality stuff, the wood look finish was an added plus. From close you can obviously tell that it's not real wood, but from far it does the trick and blends perfectly with our staircase. 10/10 highly recommend. We even decided to buy two more and our house is perfectly puppy/baby proof!
