Can you add your own straw?

Not really, the straw slips onto & over an inner straw-head on the inside of the lid. The sip side is small, so unless a very thin straw, no. So you’re aware, the straw provided, even when lid is placed on correctly makes noisy slurping sounds & truly is like drinking through a broken straw. You get more air than water. Hope that helps.

How tall is the 40oz tumbler without the lid on?

The lid isn’t very tall. Less than an inch.

Does the Reduce brand replacement lid fit this item?

Technically yes the 40oz lid does fit. It's a little loose as is but if you switch out the rubber seal ring from the original lid then it becomes a really tight fit. The straw is a little short but doable.
