Runs perfectly on WMO
The media could not be loaded. The package arrived early and in perfect condition. There wasn’t a scratch or dent anywhere on the engine. I put some 10w40 in the crank case and poured some motor oil I had just drained from my truck into the fuel tank. After a few minutes of pulling with the decompression lever down it fired right up. I can’t say how well it runs on diesel fuel but motor oil burns pretty well. I plan to replace a bad gasoline engine in my sidewalk edger with it.I recommend getting one even just to play around with. This is a good product at a good value

The engine is a good investment for your project
The media could not be loaded. I don’t know much about this diesel engine, but it seems like it would work for most projects and replacement for the gasoline engine. It feels very well built and it starts on the first pull every time. It has a 20MM output shaft on the pto side of the engine which makes it hard to get parts to fit it but with a little bit of work and some know how it can be turned down to 19MM-3/4 to fit the SAE system. It takes about .7L or 3/4 of a quart of oil to fill it and it takes about .9L or just under a gallon of diesel fuel to fill it. You are going to need to prime the fuel system and get all the air out of it before it will start. Your going to need a 17MM wrench to loosen up the fuel line at the fuel injector and you are going to have to slide the throttle to the full open position and then hold the compression relief valve and pull the starter rope until the fuel starts to leak out of the line at the injector then tighten it up and go through the steps to start the engine. It should start on the first or second pull let it run for about 2-3 minutes so that you can get all the air out of the fuel system and make sure that you mount the engine properly before you try to start it because it has 22.1 compression ratio so this will make it more difficult to pull the engine over so that’s why it has a compression relief valve on it to help make it easier to pull it over and a regular gas engine will only have about 8.1 compression ratio so they are much easier to pull start. I hope that this helps with any questions you may have about this engine. Good luck with your new project engine.

Mean, noisy and functional
Purchased one to build a redneck generator with (using a 1 wire high-amp alternator). Highly recommend wearing work gloves when attempting to start, because it will kick you back like an angry mule if you don't get the starting procedure down right, and on first start up I found I was getting some sore spots on my hand. Once started, it lets you know its a diesel with the metallic rapping and angry exhaust note. It also shakes rough enough to mix paint. However, it settles in and runs well for a diesel this size and had more than enough power to run that alternator at a good charging rpm. If you don't mind the noise, this is a good engine for small power projects!

Small power that gets attention
So far it starts on the first pull when done correctly. The space that was working with required some fabrication for an exhaust flange because I couldn't find one. I ended up going with 3/4 in pipe. The shaft is 22mm's. I went with a 3/4x4 pully and a 22mm drill bit. The 5mm key required a little grinding. It's loud as to be expected from a diesel engine.Update: 3 days later. The first time I put the engine under a load it said "clink, clank, clunk, and won't start now.

This is an awesome value for the money!
The media could not be loaded. This is an honest-to-goodness diesel engine, 22:1 compression ratio with a peak output of 3 horsepower (2200 Watts). A little heavier than a gasoline engine of equivalent power but it is because it is built stout. Starting it takes getting used to. You pull the recoil cord until you feel it is at the start of the compression stroke. Now flip the decompression lever. This holds the exhaust valve open so that when you pull the cord, the engine builds up speed, then the decompression lever resets and if you've done it right, the engine starts with a little puff of black smoke. Note that rapidly increasing the speed control will make it "roll coal". The muffler is adequate. It will arrive without oil. It holds almost a full quart. If you want to purge the air out of the high pressure line from the pump to the injector, then hold the decompression lever down and rotate the engine ten times or so... Loosening the flare nut at the injector will show it leak once the line is purged. Then re-tighten the nut.The output shaft is 20mm diameter with a 5mm (0.2 inch) keyway. It does not include the key. Find it at the hardware store. The engine does vibrate a good bit. I placed mine on the ground and started it, and it will dance around especially at low RPM. Interestingly, test running it for 20 minutes and the engine did not get "hot". Only the cylinder head and muffler were too hot too touch. The block was "warm". This was not under load, but still I am convinced the air cooling system is effective. I like this engine so much I have ordered a second one!To deal with the 20mm shaft diameter, what I plan on doing is getting pulleys with 3/4" inside diameter and using a 20mm chucking reamer then using vertical mill to shorten some 5mm key stock (still 5mm width but only 4.5mm tall). There are 20mm ID pulleys available, but nowhere near the assortment of 3/4" available. Hope this helps someone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
