Super comfortable, features exactly as described
[EDIT AFTER 1 YEAR OF USING: Still using these, still love them! Have had no issues, no degradation of functionality! My original review still stands 100% even after a year of regular use.] I've waited to review until I'd had and used these a good bit to be able to give my honest review and after a month of use I can say that I love these and would absolutely recommend them and buy them again. I have never found a pair of ear buds that don't cause me extreme pain in my ears, neck, shoulders, and head. I've tried all manner of ear buds, from super cheap to really expensive, and these are the first set of ear buds that I can wear all day without any pain whatsoever. It took a little getting used to the way that they fit because they did sort of feel like they were on the verge of falling out when I first got them, but this is just due to a different design than I've ever experienced and they're actually quite secure and not going anywhere. I do find myself forgetting that I have them on and will walk around with nothing playing, wearing them for hours sometimes. Even as a glasses wearer, I don't find myself having any problems with comfort or secure fit. The sound quality is honestly the best I've experienced in all of the ear buds I've tried. I'm super impressed with the bass they're able to achieve, and it is sort of a "sound is in your head" kind of experience. I've used them for listening to music, watching YouTube, watching TV shows and movies, and have never felt that I needed to adjust the EQ. They really just sound great for all uses, in my opinion. I love the way that you put them into pairing mode - I did have to look up a YouTube video on how to do it because I struggled to understand the instructions provided, but it's actually really easy and reliable, and one of the easier pairing experiences I've had. I have a few pairs of headphones/ear buds that are a major pain to pair and fall out of being paired randomly, and I've had none of those issues with these. I haven't had any issues with the touch controls not working right, though I don't use these for running and it seems the majority of reviewers having issues with the touch controls are runners who experience sweat, so that could be why I've had no issues. I'm a stay at home mom who works part time from home and home schools my kid, so my typical use of these is while sitting at a computer working, or while walking around my home doing school or chores. They're not super noise canceling and they don't have the longest battery life but that is exactly as advertised. Being open ear fit they couldn't possibly be noise canceling (though they do actually drown out most sound pretty well if the volume is up high), which is actually what I need in ear buds as a stay at home mom who needs to be able to hear my kid at all times. I don't want to give these a low review on noise cancellation or battery life because they're clearly advertised as not being noise canceling, and also clearly advertised that the ear buds themselves only have a 7 hour battery life and the case has a 28 hour battery life, so it would seem unfair to lower their rating over something that you're advertised before even buying. Maybe in future models they'll be able to increase the battery life, but until then it is totally fine with me as someone who is home pretty much at all times and able to recharge without issue. I am super happy with these, and so pleased to have finally found ear buds I can wear without pain. After years of searching, I finally found a pair that works for me and actually sounds great, too.

Sincere, unpaid/unsponsored, love for these!!
Edited with use… and to *try* to be more concise. Firstly, it’s important to note that I am not an audiophile. The primary reason for purchasing these was to use them for WORK (WFH, need to be able to hear clients, have them hear me with no background noise, take meetings etc) with the secondary reason being casual listening at home while I’m scrolling my phone, cleaning, etc etc etc. So if you’re wanting to know whether or not these are Gods gift to audio, you’re on the wrong review! Fit: I’m starting here because it seems to be what everyone complained the most about in the reviews. HOWEVER, I think the fit is absolutely perfect, incredible - all the positive descriptive words. Each bud is as LIGHT as a feather. I needed to be able to make sure I could wear these for extended periods of time without experiencing discomfort… and I have! Since I received them I hardly take them off. I have tried sleeping in them and while discomfort wasn’t the issue, the touch controls were triggered by my pillow so it wasn’t functional for nighttime listening (sleep stories are a game changer). Otherwise, I work in them, I clean in them, I play games in them… everything. They stay in, they feel secure though most of the time I forget they’re even there. More than anything I’m so freaking glad they don’t go IN my ear canal. I have always avoided headphones because I hate the ear canal ones (gross) and the big bulky ones just are not it. App: The app you can control these with is perfect, and I’ll be including some screenshots in my review. First of all, HAVING an app I can use to manage them is amazing. I like that it’s easy to figure out and doesn’t throw an overwhelming amount of options or customizations at you. You can; - Monitor battery life for each individual bud AND the charging case (freaking love); - Adjust the audio to your liking (full EQ customization + preset options like vocal or bass boost); - Set up multipoint pairing. SO happy with this function, I can’t even explain. It took some figuring out though…more later; - And customize controls. This was probably my favorite feature, as I wasn’t a huge fan of the default options and I was able to change the controls to what works for ME! *My ONLY critique, and I cannot explain how insignificant this is in the grand scheme, is that I wish in the control customization that I had the option to switch which ear was volume up and which was volume down. IDK how to explain it other than my brain doesn’t process volume down being on the left side. Maybe throw it in the suggestion box for the next model, which I will definitely be buying regardless. Battery: It’s great. I put these puppies to use, for all the reasons mentioned above. They get me through my workday and an evening of listening to music before needing to charge. I say needing to charge, but even then they’re still around 20-25%. It feels like I get endless charges out of the case, and they charge quick. Audio: Again, not an audiophile. With that being said, I think they sound great. The EQ customization is awesome, I prefer to just go with one of the preset options. On that note, I’m glad they have the preset options and I think they’re great. I have been listening to my music on treble boost with no complaints. Love being able to quickly switch to the vocal option for work. Bass boost at the highest of volumes sounds a little tinny but otherwise they sound like normal headphones. Mic: So far, no complaints. I was very worried about my clients and colleagues being able to pick up on background noise because of my dogs, but I’ve asked several people on the other end if they could hear anything other than me and they all said no. Everyone has said they can only hear me, and I sound normal + clear. Multi-point pairing: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. This was actually a welcome surprise, I didn’t realize they had the feature until I received them. I’m not sure if I’ve captured the full potential here yet or not, but this is a really handy feature for how I personally use them. Being that I need to be able to pair them to both my personal phone and my work laptop, this makes it so seamless. I can easily connect or disconnect to one, the other, or both at the same time if I want. This allows me to toggle back and forth between work and personal activities so easily. It’s so good. TLDR; Get these!

These are BRILLIANT
I have loved my Plantronics BackBeat Fit buds for 8 years. While I am not an aficionado, I do appreciate and enjoy good sound quality, which is the main reason I kept the Plantronics for so long... I tried a few other brands over the years, but none of them could outperform the Plantronics. Until these Shokz OpenFit. Though the Shokz are not IN ear buds (like the Plantronics), they are still warm and rich, and full of bass, even set to the standard EQ. The very BEST thing about the Shokz, though, is how comfortable they are. Seriously, I forget they are there. And, they stay put! I have tried shaking my head back and forth at all angles of tilt, and they don't budge. The open ear design of these is perfect for me, as I like to experience my music while still maintaining a connection to ambient sounds. I love to cycle and hike, especially. These buds, and the speakers, do not cover your ear canal at all. They rest above that, but still deliver full, satisfying sound. I like to listen to many styles of music from dub/reggae to jazz and classical. They all sound terrific through the Shokz, again, even with no tweaking of the standard EQ. With the jazz, cymbal sticking is crisp and clear, and every nuance on the snare and toms comes through richly. Guitar, keyboards, sax - all rendered excellently. Classical music sounds clean, warm and vibrant. Dub drum and bass is punchy - plenty deep for me, and if I want more, I have the option of boosting the bass with an EQ preset, or with a manual adjustment. Touch controls on the buds work well to play/pause music, accept a call/hangup, and FF or REW a track. Unfortunately, there is no volume control on the buds. It's the only minor drawback that I can think of. The Shokz app is a nice touch, too. Overall, I can say within two hours of owning and using these, that they are fantastic. They make me want to use them!

Super Comfortable with Great Sound Quality
I've been using these since the first of December and I can say that I love these and would absolutely recommend them and buy them again. The reason I didn’t give them Five stars is because of no pre—warning that the battery is low. I have never found a pair of ear buds that don't cause me extreme pain in my ears, neck, and head. I've tried all manner of ear buds, from super cheap to really expensive, and these are the first set of ear buds that I can wear all day without any pain whatsoever. I'm super impressed with the bass they're able to achieve, and it is sort of a "sound is in your head" kind of experience. They're not super noise canceling and they don't have the longest battery life but that is exactly as advertised. Being open ear fit they couldn't possibly be noise canceling (though they do actually drown out most sound pretty well if the volume is up high), which is actually what I need in ear buds as a stay at home fur baby mom who need to hear my fur baby. I don't want to give these a low review on noise cancellation or battery life because they're clearly advertised as not being noise canceling, and also clearly advertised that the ear buds themselves only have a 7 hour battery life and the case has a 28 hour battery life. My only drawback to them is they don’t give you any pre-warning that the battery is low. The warning that you get is three beeps and they immediately shutoff. They don’t give you any warning to allow you to charge ear piece before shutting down. Overall I am super happy with these, and so pleased to have finally found some ear buds I can wear without pain. After years of searching, I finally found a pair that works for me and actually sounds great, too.

Best earbuds I’ve ever owned
I’ve had these for about 3 weeks and WOW they are the best. When I first got them I put them in so tightly that they put pressure against the back of the inside of my ear, which was uncomfortable over time. I think I’m so used to always feeling my headphones in my ear that this initially felt like the correct way to wear them. The key to prevent this is to gently put them on so they are just resting. Here is the best way I can describe it: 1) When you twist the arm back over the top of your ear, twist it all the way back as far as it can go to where you run out of room and it puts pressure on the top and back of the earbud (part that is inside the ear). The back is almost pointed down at this point. 2) Give the whole earbud about a quarter turn forward. 3) Pull the inside of the earbud away from your head just a bit, then re-situate it so it’s gently resting in your ear. I can wear them like this for hours. It will feel weird at first like they’re going to fall out, but you’ll get used to it! They are so comfortable at that point that sometimes when I’ve stopped listening to something, I have to actually reach up and feel to make sure I’ve put them back in the case. There have been multiple times where I feel for them and they aren’t there. Like I literally can’t tell the difference. Your hearing is also not impaired, meaning you can turn down whatever you’re listening to and have a full conversation with someone without issue. It also IMO makes them safer to wear in public. They are great to talk on the phone with too, and the microphone works very well. Lastly, I worked out in them the other day doing a combination of weight lifting and cardio (including jumping exercises). I have somewhat oddly shaped ears so I’m usually having to adjust even the best headphones constantly while doing any physical activity. I was shocked to realize I didn’t so much as touch these the entire time!! For the first time I was about to forget about my headphones completely and focus on my workout. I will update if things change, but so far I’m genuinely SOLD.

Great at first but may have diminishing returns
Out of the box, this would be 5/5 starts however over time there is a dimensioning of return on the product's functionality. Pros: Feels really comfortable and at times I don't even feel them in my ear Sounds better than my old Beats air buds Great for jogging, stays in ear Great for people who need the loop over the ear because for whatever reason no wireless ear buds will stay in without them Cons: I've had issues overtime with pairing and left earbud charging The playback has never been 24 hours as advertise. My experience almost a year later: At first these worked great out of the box. I was honestly amazed at the sound quality, how comfortable they were and how easy it was to set up. However at the tail end of my first year, I had issues with the buds synching to my devices. I could never get the flashing yellow lights to appear and synching was a pain that would take upwards to 10 mins. I recently ran a marathon and the buds died 4 hours in right before I finished. Additionally, at times, I would securely put both my earbuds in to charge and somehow the next morning find out that one is completely dead. Customer Support: I was able to tell Shokz about my problems and they did offer to send a replacement free of charge. I may have had a flawed product but I do warn anyone that buys this that quality may suffer over time.

Comfortable, Clear, and Perfect for Active Use
SHOKZ OpenFit earbuds are a total win for anyone who wants great sound without blocking out the world. The open-ear design is super comfortable—no pressure, no ear fatigue—and perfect for staying aware while running or commuting. Sound quality is surprisingly rich for this style, with clear vocals and decent bass. They stay secure during workouts, handle sweat like a champ, and the battery life easily lasts through the day. I also love the easy-to-use controls and how smoothly they switch between devices. If you’re looking for earbuds that combine comfort, awareness, and solid audio, these are worth every penny!

Really good but two issues that keep them from being excellent...
I'm a Bluetooth earbuds geek, having owned the to of the line Boss, Apple, Sennheiser, Jabra, Pixel, Samsong, etc. over the past 5 years. I also own the Shokz (Aftershokz) OpenComm bone conduction headset. When I saw these Shokz OpenFit earbuds with the ear hooks, I i had to give them a try. They are really nice. The sound is excellent and adequately loud for my taste. The OpenComm bone conduction was not loud enough in a crowd, but since these place the speakers directly over the ear canal, the volume is much better. I like that they don't block out your surroundings and it provides natural sound of your surroundings, not the "ambient" (artificial) sound from other earbuds with accompanying white noise. The noise cancelling mic is quite good. Voice on the other end is good. It blocks out more than 95 percent of the noise without sounding artificial it mechanical. Battery life is on par or better than most of the competition (7 hrs). The app allows some customization and is simple enough so as not to be confusing. I only have two complaints (one minor and one major): Minor complaint: The East hooks are comfortable but I found that the earbud itself pressed on the antihelical fold where, after several hours, it became painful to the touch... Perhaps this will be something that you can get used to, but it is worth mention. 2) The touch controls are lacking. Other high end earbuds offer 3 or 4 sets of controls: single tap L/R, double tap L/R, double tap L/R, touch and hold L/R, and done also offer d surface swipe. That, those though too many choice may be confusing, give you enough options to control everything. The OpenFit only offer double tap and tap and hold; and they only offer a select limited set of combinations. For instance, if you set double tap L: answer/end, play/pause and double tap R: voice assistant, then you can choose tap and hold L/R to next previous or volume +/-, but not both. That's a major problem. What's lacking is single tap. That would give you the options needed to control calls and music without having to reach for the phone. I don't want to have to pick up my phone or take it out of my pocket to do all the things other earbuds can do. For the price, these earbuds should offer more touch controls than they offer.

SHOKZ OpenFit Open-Ear Wireless Bluetooth Earphones !
I ordered these SHOKZ OpenFit Open-Ear Wireless Bluetooth Earphones ( Black ) a few days ago, and I have just received my order Today. ; I will begin by mentioning that I already have a BOSE SoundLink II On-Ear Wireless Bluetooth Headphones, which are my Current favourite Bluetooth headphones. And I also already have the Apple AirPods 3rd Generation Wireless Bluetooth Earphones, which I am also currently very happy with, and they’re great for commuting, travelling, and vacationing with. Sound Quality between the BOSE SoundLink II On-Ear and the Apple AirPods 3rd Generation are both Comparable, and both Excellent. ; I only just got the SHOKZ OpenFit Open-Ear Bluetooth Earphones today, so I haven’t quite had the chance to fully put it through its paces as yet. Like the Apple AirPods, it comes with a wireless charging case, so you can charge the earphones on the go ( while the wireless charging case still holds a charge ). For me, the SHOKZ OpenFit Earphones Fit quite snugly, steadily, and very comfortably around my ears without any discomfort. They are quite light-weight, so you barely notice you’re even wearing them. Pairing these earphones is easy, simple and straightforward, and is accomplished very quickly, so you can get straight into listening right away. Sound Quality overall is very very good ! In fact, quite better than what I had initially expected. The audio experience is much like AirPod-style earphones, with the sound being directed straight into your ear-canal. Mid-Range and Treble sounds are very clear and very easy to hear. Bass sound response is fairly good, but has noticeable distortion at the very low frequency notes ( a problem not evident on the more superior BOSE Headphones ) [ Amendment : A new Firmware Update is now available and the update much improves the Bass response and the apparent distortion at high volumes is now almost completely Eliminated, enabling a far better audio experience overall ! ; Very Happy with this ! This brings the overall sound quality up much closer to that of the Apple AirPods and BOSE Headphones ! ]. ; The SHOKZ OpenFit supposedly has a Situational Awareness feature which supposedly allows you to stay aware of ambient sounds in your natural environment ( In fact this is the Primary reason I bought them in the first place ! ), but since I have only tested these earphones in my own room and inside a house, I haven’t yet had a chance to fully test whether the Situational Awareness feature works well or not. If I am using these inside my own room ( which is a quiet environment ) with the earphone volume up pretty high, I cannot really hear much ambient sounds outside of the earphones themselves. ; And like the Apple AirPods, the SHOKZ OpenFit Open-Ear Wireless Bluetooth Earphones are compact, and great for commuting, travelling, and vacationing with. ; Even though the overall sound quality isn’t quite up to the same standard as the BOSE headphones, which are definitely more superior, both the Apple AirPods and the SHOKZ OpenFits are both a lot more compact in size and more convenient to carry - an attribute a clear winner for both Apple and SHOKZ over the BOSE headphones, which are bulkier and more space required to carry. The overall sound quality of both the Apple AirPods and the SHOKZ OpenFits are still really good, and good enough for their compact size and convenience for travelling. Oh, and for those also using an Apple MacBook Air M2, such as myself, then YES, I can Affirmatively Confirm that the SHOKZ OpenFits DO work very well and easily with the Apple MacBook Air M2. ; If you are at home, in private, then the BOSE headphones are definitely the clear winner. If commuting and travelling is your thing, then the Apple AirPods would be the choice for Solo travelling. If you need to be able to hear normal ambient sounds from your natural environment, then the SHOKZ OpenFits is the most suitable way to go. ; For me, I’d leave my BOSE headphones at home, and I’d take both the Apple AirPods and the SHOKZ OpenFits Earphones with me when I Travel, and use whichever is the most appropriate at any given period. ; When you commute and/or go travelling, I would also recommend taking a pair of wired 3.5 mm compact earphones ( like the ones Apple used to include with their new iPhone releases ), as backup earphones, just in case your Bluetooth earphones run out of battery. ; I’ll be happy to say that for people who normally wear glasses or spectacles for their eyes ( like I do ), you can still wear them perfectly as normal and comfortably in conjunction with the SHOKZ OpenFit earphones, without either of them getting in the way of each other, and you can continue to comfortably listen to your music with the SHOKZ OpenFit earphones while keeping your glasses on perfectly in place. The SHOKZ OpenFit Earphones themselves, while they are outside of the charging case, they do Not have an Off switch or Off mode, so if they’re not in active use, you Must return them to inside the Charging Case and close the Charging Case in order for the earphones to attain something like an Off mode or Sleep mode, and retain their charge. ; Oh, and also, I gather you might like this about the Shokz OpenFit : Because a) They’re Open-Ear technology, and b) They have the Situational Awareness feature : If you have your music on either Pause/Stop mode or on Silent mode, you can still hold a perfectly normal verbal conversation with other people without having to remove the Shokz earphones from your ears ( and also still be able to perfectly hear other people talk to you ), and then return to your music and continue from where you left off without having to put the earphones back on again. ; [ Just for the record : I’ve even tried Bone-Conduction earphones, and from my own personal experience, I’d say “ Say goodbye “ to Bone-Conduction technology - they’re absolute rubbish compared to traditional headphones and earphones, including the Shokz Open-Fits, which are clearly a million times better than any bone-conduction trash ! Bone-Conduction technology doesn’t do anything for me ! ] ; For the sake of re-iteration, If we’re talking Shokz OpenFits, we’re really talking compact-ness and Portability ( On-the-go ). If you go out or commute and/or travel frequently, my best advice to you would be that in addition to the Shokz OpenFits, get yourself a good pair of Apple AirPods ( or equivalent ), and a pair of good 3.5 mm wired earphones, and take them all with you when you are out of or away from home. ; The SHOKZ OpenFit Earphones : Are they worth the cost ? : Well, AUD $ 289.oo I think initially is a pretty big ask, especially if you haven’t tried them on yet. How important is your music collection ( and your music listening ) to you ? You weigh up the worthiness, and determine for yourself whether my review and advice here would convince you to purchase them. I took a stab in the dark whether they would be as good as others have reviewed them to be, telling myself that I would not know the truth unless I bought them, and tried them out for myself. So far, I am quite impressed ! ; My final score for the SHOKZ OpenFit Earphones, out of 10 : 9.80 , or out of 100 : 98 ; Two thumbs up !

Great audio quality and comfort.
I've struggled over the years to find good lightweight earbuds that produce an overall good sound quality while providing comfort and stability. These earbuds were a match made in heaven. SOUND: It's not the same level of sound quality as you'd get from traditional over-ear studio quality headphones (i.e. Sennheiser 280 pro), but compared to other earbuds - both open-ear and in-ear style - it exceeded expectation. The app allows you to choose from some EQ presets and create your own custom EQ presets so you can tweak the EQ bands to your liking, which is a great feature. COMFORT: The nice soft rubber hoops that go around the ear are very gentle against the skin (I have sensitive skin, so I was pleased with that). They're sturdy enough to keep these buds in place even when moving/exercising. They're easy to just keep on as you go about your day, which is the first for me - I've had other earbuds before but my ears would always end up feeling sore after an hour of wearing them. With the OpenFit, I can keep them in for hours without feeling the urge to take them out. STABILITY: Their design is flawless - they fit nice and snug into the antihelix of the ear and loop around the back of the ear to keep them safe and secure. No issues! VALUE: They're more expensive than budget brands while less expensive than other highly rated open-ear options, making the price point reasonable. I was lucky enough to have purchased them while they were on sale and selling for close to the same price as the Openfit Air model, but I still recommend them at full price as I believe they're worth the investment, especially if you're like me and can't do in-ear headphones and are looking for a durable, quality option for exercise and/or daily life. OVERALL: Best open-ear headphones I've ever owned, I absolutely love them and recommend them to everyone.
