Despite the fact that each pod comes individually wrapped in a gold plastic airbag, prevented it being stored on the rack, this is my favourite coffee. I’ve tried various types and these are a cut above, first you get that blast of fresh coffee aroma when you open the airbag, then you get to taste it and it’s just so velvety smooth with hints of fruit and spice

I ordered these for a DeLonghi Nespresso machine, but they aren't compatible. The pics don't show the rear of the pod which I would have noticed didn't fit. The pods I required are the ones with a rear that gets pierced by the machine, as well as the front foil. These pods have a solid plastic rear with a centre plastic vent and so can't pierce. I tried in the machine a couple of times in case I wasn't aware of it being compatible and while it did make a coffee, its obviously not venting enough as the pour is very slow. This means I'm stressing the pump too much which would likely fail quickly so I wont make any more. The coffee I produced though was nice, I didn't find it too bitter. Big issue is the packaging. As someone mentioned prev (I didn't notice before purchase), these pods are individually wrapped so while fresh, it wont do your environmental conscience any good :(

I've had a nespresso machine for many years and although I was satisfied with the nespresso capsules I somehow thought they were never strong enough for me. I decided to look for brand alternatives initially to save money and when I came across caffe' borbone I thought I'd give it a try. I was amazed at the strength of the coffee and richness of flavour, this is the kick you need to wake up in the morning. Not to mention every capsule is packed singularly to preserve freshness - definitely taste and smell the difference! This has now become a monthly purchase (we go through a lot in my household) and I would recommend to anyone looking for proper strong italian coffee.

Excellent coffee. Work splendidly with my Sage Creaista machine. Produces a thick and rich crema. Very balanced in taste. The blue capsules are also excellent. Very fresh, each box shows production and use by dates. Ordered both the blue and gold caps recently, produced in March 2023 and Jan 2023 repectively, each with a 24 month use by date. Capsules individually wrapped to maintain freshness, aroma and prevent drying out. Received with 24 hours of ordering in excellent condition.

Bought for use in a Nespresso, as they are advertised as compatible, they are not. When the machine has finished overflowing with ‘dirty water’, what little actually lands in the cup is predominantly coffee grounds. Save your money and purchase another product. (I bought 200 – 100 blue and 100 gold), I have attempted with around 13/14 pods over the course of today, and each time, the same results. I have swapped back to my usual pods, and they work perfectly fine; the machine is fine, these pods are the problem. Another thing is that each pod is individually wrapped in foil/plastic wrapping, which is not recyclable. I have strayed away from my usual coffee pods, lured by saving a couple of pounds, and it’s not been worth it. 13/14 clean-ups, a couple of photos to upload and typing this out to post has not been time or cost-effective. Complete disaster.

In my opinion the 'proper' Nespresso branded pods are the best tasting pods you can get, but these are a very very close second and are a fraction of the price. I've tried numerous brands over the years in an attempt to get the price of my mug of coffee down, while still being really tasty and I always end up coming back to Borbone brand. The Gold blend are my pick of the bunch but the red, blue and black blends are very good too if they are ever on at a really good offer price. I use a Magimix Nespresso machine and they work perfectly in it.

Coffee is a subjective thing - I like these with some hot milk. The flow from the machine seems slower than original Nespresso pods but OK. As noted by others, the individually wrapped pods seems OTT and a waste. I’m intrigued by the presence of a strong but quite pleasant roast coffee smell in the container I store these pods in. This may explain the reason for the individual wrappers.

Bei der Gold-Mischung von Caffè Borbone passt einfach wie immer alles: Die Kapseln laufen perfekt durch die Maschine und der Kaffee hat nach wie vor einen hervorragenden, vollmundigen Geschmack. Für mich die beste Sorte, bleibt definitiv mein Favorit! 5 Sterne!
