Strongest Windproof Travel Umbrella (Compact, 100MPH Wind-Tested)

Very well and nicely packaged. Good quality umbrella and looks great. Same canopy size as many other brollies I've had before and great overall size and is just a bit heavier. Good handle grip and great strap to keep canopy folded down. You can feel the strength of it's sturdy ribs and springs when you close the umbrella . It's far superior to any other brolly I've ever had and amazing value for the price. It's great to buy one knowing it's going to last.

Like many, we have purchased several umbrellas that have disappointed in their quality and longevity. We decided to purchase two of these. Delivery was quick and we are very pleased with the quality and build. To use, remove from the holder, unravel the velcro tie and push the button in the handle. The spring-assisted opening is instant,and strong, so please avoid opening in close proximity to another person. If you are inclined, you can assist the opening speed by partially dampening the opening by pressure on the top. A bonus of the effort necessary to close the umbrella should be deemed as a comfortable physical exercise for the arms and chest! But, that displays the strength of the mechanism, and is supported by a lifetime warranty. We are very pleased and confident our umbrellas will outlive us and continue to give good service to our family members. It really is compact, superior, strong, and beautiful,

I am clearly at that age now where I only buy quality items and I cannot stand sending poor quality items to landfill any longer. I purchased this umbrella in a week of constant rain so it really got its use. It feels excellent quality, the button is easy to use in terms of getting the umbrella up quickly. It functions well, has kept me dry, and has even withstood some pretty strong winds and hasn’t folded or buckled in anyway. The metal frame seems more reinforced than most compact umbrellas. The fact that there is a lifetime guarantee for this product makes it excellent value for money. I appreciate the thoughtful design and letter from the founder. My only notes for people to consider are these: this is significantly heavier in weight than any other umbrella I’ve owned, so it might not be suitable for anyone older or frail or with accessibility issues. I also have difficulty getting it down as you have to push quite hard to reduce the length and get it to lock back into the handle. As it is stronger and fairly large, it is also not as compact as I am used to. For me, these are things I can compromise on for an umbrella that withstands the crazy storms we get here, but I thought I would mention it for anyone considering purchasing who may have strength issues.

Compact Strong Reliable Strong winds are no problem. This is my second Tumella Umbrella- very pleased with this brand and the design. Reason for purchase: I recently left (mislaid) my first Tumella umbrella in a community centre.

Lovely umbrella nice and strong! Only problem is closing it! Pops up nicely, but you have to really push hard on the top to get it down. If you need to go into a shop it needs be put down and in a hurry! But I find it quite difficult to close. But I love the colour and the way it pops up. Maybe I am doing something wrong when I push the top to get it down?

pretty and sturdy. This is not a pocket umbrella, it is chunky, but a really sturdy and worthwhile product.

***(UPDATE)*** I have finally used it in medium, strong & gale force winds, and must admit, I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with the performance! Unlike the very large windproof sports umbrellas, this one does NOT actively redirect wind through the splits!.. I found myself having to either thrash the umbrella or press it into the ground just to turn it back down the right way after it became inverted in mid-strong winds, I had to use it just like any other umbrella and continously readjust the positioning of the umbrella to account for the wind-direction so as to avoid it turning upside itself! The splits on actual windproof umbrellas are a lot larger and have longer + wider flaps to redirect the wind through the centre of the umbrella, but this ones' flaps just basically remained closed for the most part, rendering it useless as a windproof umbrella! I was not at all happy with this as my expectations were so high! I should have purchased a large sports one instead, that is actually windproof in ALL winds (even gale force winds are effortlessly dealt with by genuine windproof umbrellas!). I have significantly reduced my rating of this product and feel absolutely scammed - it IS however just a normal umbrella, and a decent one at that, but in no way is this a true windproof umbrella! ***(ORIGINAL REVIEW)*** Travel umbrellas (the little ones) are NOTORIOUS for being an embarrassing waste of money that humiliates you twice, once when it inevitably breaks & again when you remember you actually spent money on it/them! Obviously, like any sane person, I have a lot of trauma + bias towards small, compact, travel umbrellas... but this one seemed different... I don't have to carry it around like an awkward walking stick or an intimidating samurai sword imitation (either in hand or sheathed on my back between my bag). I, for some sadistic reason, had been torturing myself with 2 run-down umbrellas - without the central 'slits' to wind-proof it... so it's been a total mess really. I used to have a windproof umbrella that was massive, but never thought to search for a compact version(?)… That's when I stumbled across this one, by pure chance (thank-you algorithm), and decided that it's my best chance, as I can't have another canopy-umbrella, it NEEDS to be much smaller, but sturdy. I was certainly surprised by the efficacy of this umbrella; it's an incredible product, it really is!.. It has a lovely open/close mechanism that works both ways! Press to open + extend, press again to close the umbrella (but you need to load the spring again by collapsing/pushing the extended shaft back into itself. Very strong & sturdy, has excellent windproof capabilities. So easy to operate - although it takes a good push to close the shaft (as aforementioned, it's spring-loaded). The ONLY thing that slightly worries me, is that the telescopic shafts is exceptionally well crafted, solid, but there is only one small part that feels vaguely loose, as in the different telescopic segments are all very stable, apart from the very bottom one that the handle is attached to - it has a little bit of 'freedom' (a few millimeters of slight, minimal rotation) and feels like it could develop into something compromising in the distant future, especially compared to the rest of the umbrella... Hopefully this does not jeopardise the integrity of the entire foundation; I mean, it DOES 'feel' structurally sound, but also, the telescopic mechanism seems to be the only 'POSSIBLE' weakness thus far... I will have to use it more before I can definitively comment on that aspect. It has a decent weight to it - like you know it's good quality too. The little generic/standard storage bag (sleeve(?)) that all travel umbrellas come in is not the best - it slides-off somewhat easily and is a pain to continuously put the umbrella into... I just don't use it at all, no need really - also, I'd much prefer to allow the umbrella to dry-out properly anyway, so it's pretty redundant. It has a viable hook & loop ("Velcro") clasp anyway. I strongly recommend this; I will update my review after more use, but as of now, I rate it 4*-stars until I gather more feedback. ***

This product was created with the customer in mind. It smoothly opens and closes easily. The cover has extra space to slip over the umbrella wet or dry. The inner metal is covered by a hard plastic keeping from snapping. It is sturdy and has weight to it. The only draw back is I would have liked the umbrella fabric material to be a little thicker and the brim to be wider but otherwise a solid and good umbrella - versatile and small to carry in your backpack.

This product is very good and I will recommend it.

The umbrella looks nice, feels well built, and easy to use. Have used in sunny, windy, and rainy conditions - does a good job. A tiny amount of water gets through the wind vents under extremely heavy rain, but this can be mitigated by holding the umbrella at a steady angle. So far it's a reasonable compromise considering how well it's holding up during heavy rain and wind.
