VINGLI 14FT Pool Cover Reel, Solar Cover Reel for Inground Swimming Pool

If you are looking for something that gets the job done this is it. You are getting what you pay for with this product. It is efficient and does what I need it to do. The downside is that it bows a little in the middle - not a big deal and not unexpected - and because it is lightweight I've had the wind blow it into my pool when it is not holding the cover. The simple fix for keeping it from blowing into the pool was to put the side with the handle on it's side when not use.

Wow! Having had a cover reel in the past, this one by Vingli wins that category hands down! Very substantial and quality materials, heavy duty and not bad looking either. A bit of time to put together but well worth that and you can’t beat the price. Recommend highly.

I was a bit wary after reading some neg reviews, but the Reel arrived on time, complete in one package (multiple boxes in a larger box). I am a 5' tall grandma and I was able to fully assemble by myself, taking my time, in under 2 hours. Instructions are "ok" and you really have to look at the pictures and read carefully, and use some logic and common sense, but it all comes together. The biggest issue was having to flip and slide the metal tubes and reorient their position in order to make them fit into each other. It's a bit of a jigsaw puzzel, trial and error, but once the tubes are properly oriented, they easily slip together. The tiny flat screws used to connect the tubes are the weakest part. They also provide alternative longer self-tapping screws, but you need a power drill to drive them, and I didn't have one handy. Some reviews said the bolt used to attach the crank wheel was too short, or the head too large to fit the predrilled hole, but simply turn the wheel 180° to expose the OTHER side and you will find another predrilled hole slightly wider ... that is the entrance hole for the bolt ... it fits perfectly. A few components were already assembled, or packed in plastic with related pieces, so closely inspect EVERYTHING before assumimg a part is missing. Time will tell how well this holds up, but it seems to be good quality.

Instructions were mostly okay, some of it needs refining. The worst part of assembly is the large pipes of the reel. The pipes are not labeled, they should show which end mates with the next end! They are basically 2 different diameters, but they only fit together in one combination. They are NOT identical when fitting the pipes together. If you can't fit the pipes together, reverse the smaller pipe through the opposite side of the larger pipe. The length of the reel out of the box is almost 15 feet. If you have a smaller cover, you can shorten the length by sliding the pipes together, drilling some holes, and securing with screws. The parts were safely packed, no damage during transport. Overall impressed with the quality of the hardware and function of the device.

This pool cover reel gets the job done, but it definitely has some drawbacks. It was fairly easy to assemble, but the hardware isn't the best quality. The screws tend to loosen and fall out over time, so I've had to tighten them more often than I expected. Another issue is that the reel sags in the middle, especially with the weight of the pool cover, which makes rolling it up less smooth than it should be. It still works and serves its purpose, but I was expecting a sturdier design. If you're looking for a basic, budget-friendly reel, this one is okay, but don't expect premium durability.

I put the posts on the wrong side, my mistake. It's held together with 2 nuts and bolts on each side, just need to swap the sides. The problem is the bolts would not loosen. It became increasingly difficult to remove and one bolt eventually broke. The other is stripping. I know my righty tighty from my lefty loosey. It would have been great if I got the posts right because then I know these are never coming loose.

This reel is a game changer for the solar cover for the pool. I didn't have any problems with the assembly instructions, although it did take about an hour, but I took my time. My pool is narrow, but long and this reel handles the cover no problem. I'm able to roll it and unroll it by myself. Seems to be a good product.

For the price I was impressed by the quality of the parts. Everything appeared to be manufactured with tight tolerances, allowing the plastic, aluminum and steel parts to fit together well. Lots of thought went into clever design details. Stainless steel hardware seems to be high quality and hopefully will resist pool water corrosion. Assembly instructions were pretty good; a couple of places need some improvement eg a diagram shows dimensions X, Y, and z2, but the instructions don't explain the relevance of those parameters, and a table below has data that ambiguously refers to "pool width" which seems like it should correspond with dimension X, but actually means dimension Y, which is the width of the reel (a bit wider than the pool). But overall assembly was straightforward. The unit seems to operate smoothly. Hope it lasts!

De très bonne qualité ! Facile à utiliser seul. Un peu compliqué à assembler à cause des instructions (manque de détails) mais on y arrive. En somme, c'est un très bon achat.
