We realized that we wouldn't be able to bring beach chairs and coolers with us on vacation if we didn't purchase a hitch cargo carrier. We did a lot of research days before, and found Mockins Hitch Mount Cargo Carrier. It had great reviews and a nice design. It was easy to assemble and fit perfectly into our hitch. It holds up to 250 lbs and is very sturdy. It also folds up nicely once unpacked to store against the back of the vehicle. Once ordered, it came a couple of days later. (We also purchased a lock for it so it couldn't be taken from our car.) We are very happy with our purchase and now in the future won't have to bring two cars on vacation or moving college kids in.

I was looking for a hitch mount cargo carrier for an upcoming camping trip and came across this package deal. After reading reviews and comparing different carriers I settled on this one. It came with the cargo carrier, a bungee cargo net with clips and the stabilizer bracket. It was so easy to put together. I highly recommend this package since it includes the stabilizer bracket which is definitely needed. Without it the carrier is somewhat loose in the receiver hitch which would cause unwanted movement and noise when in transit. With the stabilizer in place there is absolutely no movement whatsoever. The bungee cargo net clips have a rounded hook eye which are slightly hard to get over the square frame rail but still work great. As an added bonus I also bought the rainproof Cargo carrier Bag not included in this package. This worked great for hauling extra items for our camping trip and I am totally happy with the purchase. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a Hitch Mount Cargo Carrier!!!!

The cargo carrier did its job for my 8 hour trip from NJ to the outer banks. It was easy to assemble and the folding tray was great. It also comes with a hitch stabilizer which was needed to prevent the cargo carrier from banging around in the 2 inch hitch. The only issue I had was the paint job. It is VERY POORLY done. The product comes scratched up from shipping and the metal was exposed. By the end of the week at the Outer Banks there were rust spots everywhere. I lightly sanded those areas when I got home and sprayed them with Black Rustoleum spray paint which seems to have fixed the issue. Overall it was a great cheap option for a product I will use once a year. I would say if you have the money, look for a more expensive carrier with powder coating. It will definitely last longer.

I ordered this and, unfortunately, the parts bad was missing. I emailed customer support and they immediately shipped out replacement parts. They were extremely responsive to getting me what I needed to put this together. The product itself is very sturdy. The basket is large enough to fit my cooler or a tent and tent canopy and still there is so much room available to securely place more in the basket. I especially like how it folds up when not in use so I don't immediately need to remove it when I'm not using it. I have it on my Highlander and I can store things on it and still open the hatch without any concerns. It is a bit hefty but it can be lifted and placed on the vehicle by only one person. It has a part that helps line it up when you place it back onto the hitch.

This cargo carrier is really nice! I like the folding feature. Newest versions are angled slightly up which is nice for backing up, it doesn't get into the ground at all. Cargo net is super nice for getting irregular stuff to stay down. Best thing is the customer service...I ordered one of these and the pin that controls the folding feature was not quite right. It has to be encourage into the hole with a hammer and I could not remove it once in (tolerances were really tight on the manufacturing). I called Mockins and they sent me a new one in the same week and were very kind about it. I was really impressed with how much they cared to get it right. I highly recommend this product. No one who manufactures anything gets it right 100% of the time, how a company handles when they get it wrong says a lot to me. I would highly recommend this. Great value when you include the bag, straps, and cargo net!

Needed a hitch mount cargo carrier for a camping trip due to not wanting to take two jeeps. Lots of options, but I knew I wanted a cargo net and stabilizer mount. I was able to find all three with this purchase. Item arrived fast. Was able to assemble pretty easily but once assembled I had my reservations on sturdiness given the terrain I would be covering. Nonetheless I decided to go on, pack up and see what happens. Surprisingly the cargo mount held up well, the net kept everything in one place and the stabilizer did its job. Really no complaints in the purchase. We plan on keeping in the garage to prevent rusting and give it some longevity for future trips.

My only complaint is the 3 small pieces of reflective tape don’t really make me feel great about night usage. I feel as though they could have indulged a 6’ or so piece of DOT reflective tape so as to allow move coverage for visibility at night. The other thing they could have done to enhance visibility is to include a wiring harness that could operate lights lights installed to include marker, brake, and turn signals as these functioning lights may be obstructed by the item it’s being used to transport. A 1.25 hitch connector version would also be nice as a person with a small socket hitch is most likely going to have more need for extra space to transport additional goods. Other than that solid product in my opinion, Witt improve my out of town shopping trip needs greatly.

The construction of this carrier is solid and more than robust enough to handle 100-lb loads on bush roads. It has handled bouncing children too. I have taken it on two road trips so far, and the rain has not caused any rust.
