Managed the full install in less than an hour. Bare in mind I’ve only owned my BMW for a week, so have never dismantled one before! Search DHStyling on YouTube as they have a great install video. Anyway, the unit itself comes very well packaged with everything you need to get it running. Once fitted and powered it runs smooth with no drag whatsoever. Touchscreen and iDrive knob controls are fluid. Steering wheel controls work fine too. The screen is clear and bright and is a massive improvement over my original little screen! Bluetooth connection is also instant with no dropouts (whilst testing). I am struggling with having CarPlay playing through Bluetooth and the phone (calls) not, but I think tweaking the settings somewhere will fix that (music playing via CarPlay Bluetooth and phone calls connected to stereo Bluetooth works so far). AUX works too, but Bluetooth is obviously a clearer output. As for the item itself, the screen is great and well worth the money spent. Delivered next day on Prime - which you can’t get if paying a little less on that Chinese site!

This is a great product. Installation was a doddle. I just watched a random YouTube tutorial 2 hours later (being nervous and never having done it before) and it was done. Not without its teething problems. 1st things firs, MAKE SURE ALL YOUR CONNECTIONS ARE FIRM! I didn't and as a result the iDrive decided to have a seizure every few minutes so there was no sound, when using indicators they were going a million miles a minute, and although the CarPlay was working, no sound. I was about ready to do a BMW delete and go buy a Mercedes with a CarPlay already installed. I persisted, took the dash apart and checked all connections after speaking with their (very good) customer support. Sure enough, as soon as I lifted the screen the power cable dropped out. That was my problem, loose connection. If the original wiring loom has fibre cables (or something) these need to be moved to the wiring harness supplied. If your car has these and you don't move them over, the dash may not work or partially work or something (I don't know, my car didn't have them - THANK GOD - But the tutorial looked simple enough)So its arrived and you've installed it, it seems to be working but no sound? This was our trouble, here's the fix I had to hunt for so you don't have to. FIRST, go onto the device's settings, set to use Car BT or something (this makes it so siri will run through the car as well and read your messages etc...) Then, make sure your phone is connected to the cars original interface Bluetooth setup for the base sound, this is primary for all of the other audio (music, videos etc...). LEAVE DISPLAY SETTINGS ALONE. DO NOT TOUCH. In settings also change the setting for 'mute when switching to original interface'.This device also acts like a bit of a hub for the car, it recognises when your lights are on, when doors are open etc... which explains the indicator issue we were having. ANYWAY... if you open a door and the device tells you its the left door when you opened the right door, you can swap it over in settings or turn the feature off all together.Now the product. We paid full price - GUTTED. What a steal even still! Works flawlessly with the car, takes a little longer to boot (maybe 10 seconds after start and its good). Works seamlessly with the original interface, so carplay when you need it and original interface when you need that. For example, putting the car in reverse immediately brings up the original interface with the sensors, camera. We've been using without fault now (since I checked the connections) for 3 days. I cannot recommend enough.I hope this has helped someone because trying to figure this out on my own made me bald.

Works perfectly, able to switch from the original system to the Linux system easily. Due to convenience we got this on Amazon but if you’re okay with waiting a little longer for a little cheaper you can get these units on Alibaba. Overall very happy with the purchase would recommend

I absolutely love this CarPlay screen. It works seamlessly with my BMW and, once installed, feels like it genuinely belongs in the car rather than being an aftermarket add-on.The integration is excellent and everything works really smoothly. The screen looks great in the dashboard and gives the car a much more modern feel. Apple CarPlay works exactly as I hoped, making it really easy to access navigation, music, calls and everything else I use while driving.The sound quality is also excellent and I was really impressed with how well everything works together. It doesn’t feel like I’ve compromised on the BMW’s original system either.Overall, this is an awesome product and one of the best upgrades I’ve made to the car. It looks great, works brilliantly and has completely transformed the driving experience. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to bring modern CarPlay functionality to their BMW.

Was working fine at first month,but after 1,5 months started working slowly and now 4 months in doesn’t even work as supposed anymore really bad bit for something that you pay 250 pounds

Sound is NOT good. Even changed the Aux plug on my car “3 times” but still not good. Going by the advert I assumed I could also play music via the built in usb of the device, the customer support was quick to get back to me but on 4 separate occasions of me asking about the usb they completely avoided answering about it and gave an answer to a random other problem that I did not even have. After a lot of back and forth they finally said that the device is NOT meant for playing music through the usb ports “either of them “, THEIR WORDS. After doing my own research I realised that the bad sound via the aux could “possibly” be from a , in my own opinion, a not expensive built in DAC. Which is responsible for the music being played through the aux. I can not use my Bluetooth phone on my car either as this unit keeps grabbing the signal and the calls are then terrible , cutting in and out. On the plus side, the screen quality is not bad.

So I was very wary and cautious buying this, but I took the gamble and boy am I glad I did! This screen is a must have upgrade on your BMW, it has wireless android auto which is incredible, it's very responsive, amazing quality, sound is great and was super easy to set up and fit. It still incorporates the old idrive system and you can easily access it with just a click of a button, it also works with all steering controls. If you're thinking about buying one...do it and you won't regret it!

The unit arrived quickly - clearly in a UK warehouse. I installed myself and did have a problem with audio so contacted the whats app help which I presume was in China. I received a clear reply and Instructions which solved the problem.Unit is good quality and works very well, integrating to the BMW oem systems when required. I have a 2014 BMW 1 series.
