Super delicious pu erh tea. Rich flavor, mellow. The after taste is like its own cup. No grassy taste. At most, I can say a slight meadow taste that fades fast into a delicious tea. Good value. One ball made 2x20 ounce teapots, both with deep red coloring. The seller says one ball can make 50ounces, but my pot only holds 20 ounces. So I’ll try another half pot with the same tea to see how it is. But I was impatient to share how good this tea is. All 3 tea drinkers in our family give it 5 stars. I put it on my subscription, so don’t you all buy it out!

UPDATE- read instructions from the producer/seller. After I did so, the product taste was improved. This is a fine product that is fairly priced and very flavorful. PREVIOUS REVIEW - It is a much stronger smokier taste than other puerhs. Since i can't return it I'm trying different ways of brewing to see if it can be less strong.

This is a good everyday puerh. The flavor is rich and a bit astringent with no fishy taste you can get with some lesser quality tea. The color is dark after the first opening steep and smells earthy. I recommend you brew this in the traditional gongfu style with boiling water, 212°f/100°c to bring out the flavor, in this way; 1st steep 30 seconds to open the leaves 2-5th steep 10 seconds 6-8 steep 15 seconds After this I collect the leaves from a few sessions to make cold tea in my refrigerator. This is the first puerh I have bought that I would recommend to others. Don’t forget to feed you tea pets!

This tea isn't anything insanely special, but it's not bad by any means. It has some earthy and mineral forward notes that are consistent with other ripe puerh teas. I didn't notice any off or fishy flavors when I enjoyed it, and managed to get around 10 good steeps doing gong fu/Chinese style brewing. Leaves appear to be either hand picked or at least machine picked well, as they tend to be whole leaves with minimal stems.

I got this tea hoping that it would taste as good as some of the more expensive teas I've been buying from China. It was adequate but not as good as I had hoped. The flavor was full-bodied for sure. Bold, even. But I thought it lacked complexity and was a little one-note. Still, of the various Puehr teas I've purchased from Amazon, this is the only one I'd buy again. It's a decent cup when you just want puerh and aren't looking for an "experience." It reminds me of the coffee my dad used to take to work in his thermos to sip on while he worked the assembly line. He wasn't expecting anything more than "coffee" out of that coffee, so he wasn't disappointed. So, I'll keep some around when I want a thermos full of puerh at my desk, but I'm not hosting a tea ceremony with it for my best friends.

Fits perfectly in the round tea strainer if you want to brew by the cup or small pot, in a single steep. Also can be fit into a gung fu brewing method. Full strong but mellow puer flavor.

Disgusting, taste like fish and cigarettes, smells worse. Amazon is a dumping ground for inferior tea.

Would recommend this tea, it was so refreshing to have with a savory breakfast. It was easy to use the balls in a tea ball stainer/holder, fits in a small one. Great color. Does not need sugar. It felt caffeinated
