Inexpensive and effective
Super easy to install and is exactly what we needed to keep the door to our son’s room closed so the cats don’t get in (he’s allergic and they like to hide under his bed and are difficult to get out). The device gently closes the door all the way. Took a minute to figure out but I used the screw-looking tool to get to the last hole which provides the most spring tension. Then screwed in the “closer” (roller looking thing). The directions don’t tell you that but you figure it out fairly quickly by looking at the pictures posted.

Best simple solution to a problem.
This is actually quite perfect. My spouse would come into my office throughout the day to ask me something and had a habbit of leaving the door wide open, which is a problem in the summertime when im running ac. I also wanted something that wouldn't slam the door all the way closed or make it too hard to open the door since we have a dog who wants to come in and out. This was perfect. This screws in nicely (i used better screws than the ones that came with it which stripped) and the first position had the right amount of light tension for my needs. I could use stronger positions if iwanted the door to close all the way (i just want my door to close most of the way so the ac makes the room cold and the dog can still nudge open the door to escape).I placed it close to the hinge which keeps the roller movement short enough to use on the included plate. If you place if further away from the hinge/rotation area the roller will travel further. I haven't actually put the plate on, the rubber rollers are soft enough. I like that you can place this at any height along the door. The product photo is slightly inaccurate since there is no longer a nut included, but i find it is not needed (tension prevents it from rotating) and the nut is kind of ugly. Finally an extra "feature" is you can unscrew the roller bar when you don't want your door to automatically close. The price is right, it does exactly what i need it to do and it installed easily.

Reliable door closer with easy adjustments
I installed this automatic door closer on an interior door earlier this week and it has worked well. The zinc alloy construction feels sturdy, and once installed correctly, it closes the door smoothly without slamming. The adjustable spring tension is a nice feature because it lets you fine-tune the closing speed to match your door.Installation took a little longer than expected, mainly because getting the alignment just right is important for smooth operation. The included instructions could be a bit clearer, especially for someone who hasn't installed a door closer before. Once everything was adjusted, it performed reliably and has been consistently closing the door behind us. It seems like a solid option for lightweight doors up to the recommended weight.Overall, this is a well-built door closer that does exactly what it's supposed to do. Better instructions would have earned it a full five stars, but I'd still recommend it for anyone looking for an affordable and dependable automatic door closer.

Perfect
It works great! It was super easy to install and is perfect for when my kids leave the door open. It doesn’t completely close my door, but I don’t think that’s the fault of the item. My door is hard to press closed. At least my cats won’t escape now!

Florida Man approves of this clever door closer. Stay Smart !
Perfect for the job.I have a metal building with a metal door. There is a magnetic catch when the door gets close to the frame. For 31 years, I have not pulled that door enough or pulled it too hard, and depending on the wind, it may or may not hit the magnet.THIS little door helper is PERFECT.Slow and steady, and it pulls the door close enough to the magnetfor it to catch. Yes, I pre-drilled the frame holes and mountedwith my screws, not the wood screws provided.Yes, I enlarged the door closer holes so my screws fit. You're telling me for 31 YEARS I have dealt with this nonsense.!??!Yes, exactly.Perfect for my purpose.LISTEN: If it is not strong enough for your purpose.just use 2 or more of them.OH: The little piece of metal and sticky pad is used tostick under the area where the wheels track.Instructions are perfect Chinglish and are perfectly useless.Easy to adjust.Highly recommended from this Florida Man.-- North Central Florida-- 6.13.2026

Cheap screws, door closing tension is not adjustable enough, instructions are terrible
The unit is listed as adjustable but really there are only 3 options, small, medium, and large tension, based on which hole you put the rod with the roller in. The other rod is to hold the spring while you put the roller rod in the hole you want. The lightest tension is not really strong enough to close the door and the medium tension is too strong for our pet to push the door open. We did not bother with the highest tension. So, we have added a wedge on the back of the door to make the light tension a little stronger. This might work, will update if the functionality works out for us or not.The screws that come with it are small and cheap - the second one we installed broke off. We had to use a different location on the door frame because the screw head had sheared off in the door frame. We decided to use some drywall screws to finish installation. We knew that we had to predrill the door frame as it is concrete board and we did that before using the screws. So there are some extra holes in the door frame now that we have to patch up because we had pre drilled holes then had a screw head shear off. That screw is embedded in the door frame and we have to fill in the other 3 holes. The build is OK, the paint was a little scratched and I have to just hope it will not rust as it can get wet if it rains sideways with a good wind. which does happen here. The metal plate that you use the 2-sided tape to protect the door finish is too small. The wheels will run off one side or the other depending on where you put it.So as far as value, ten bucks is not bad, but BYO screws and be prepared to put up with tension that is probably either too weak or too strong. The instructions are pretty bad. It is a 3 inch by 2 inch tiny piece of paper with Chinese on one side and a poor translation to English on the other. Step 2 is " According to the size of the closed door, with the strength of the adjustment rod, adjust the size of the closed door, left and right movement can adjust the size of the closed door, after the adjustment, can remove the strength pull rod." Step 3 is, "Remove the pulley lever when the off function is not used." This is just poor documentation. I think this means, remove the Strength adjustment rod after you put the Slider adjustment rod in. One of the last instructions is, "This product is not left or so." I could not even guess what that is supposed to mean. So I used my cell phone translator, and it gave me, "This product does not distinguish between left and right," which makes some sense since you mount it so the spring tension increases as the door opens. But it's not really helpful in terms of understanding that your first guess as to which end goes up needs to be checked against the spring direction. Please have someone who is fluent in English review this translation. For the record, this unit will not allow you adjust the size of your door.Luckily, it's not that complicated to install and adjust for someone with a minimum of experience with tools and equipment. It's just a little on the cheap side as far as the details and not as adjustable as one might hope for.To make this product better there should be more than 4 holes to put the rod in so it can actually be adjustable, it should come with better screws, a longer cover plate, and it needs to have a set of instructions in actual English.

Decent for Light Use, but Limited Adjustability
This Automatic Door Closer is an okay product overall. It works, but it has some limitations that are worth noting depending on your needs.Spring Strength: The spring is fairly strong, but there’s no real way to adjust the strength itself—only the speed of the close. This limits how much control you have over how forcefully the door shuts.Noise Level: It’s not overly loud, but since you can’t fine-tune the closing force, it can still shut a bit harder than expected depending on the setup.Security: Because of the limited adjustability, it’s better suited for lighter-duty applications. I’d say it works best on something like a screen door without a latch rather than a main entry door.Size: The size is reasonable and compact. It doesn’t stand out too much once installed.Weight: The weight is also fine—not too heavy, not too light—making it easy to handle during installation.Functionality: It does function as a basic spring-loaded door closer, but the single adjustment option makes it less versatile than expected.Overall, it gets the job done for lighter doors, but it’s not ideal if you need more control or stronger, more secure closing performance. I’d call it an average product.
