I wanted a hoover which is lighter than my present one (Henry) and is also efficient at picking up dog and human hair. Without doubt this has been a superb choice. To start, the vacuum was wrapped in recyclable paper & cardboard - Well done Hoover! It was easy to put together and although the majority of the parts are plastic it is sturdy and feels strong. The suction is outstanding and although it had only been a couple of days since vacuuming; I was astounded at how much dust, hair etc was collected in the bin. The bin was easy to empty and I cannot praise this product enough. Although I've only used it once I would definitely recommend it.

Wow, the suction on this vacuum is on a different level !! Had a full tank after hoovering downstairs, then the same when I hit the second floor. The hoover feels really sturdy, it’s so easy to use and manoeuvre around. ( but that does mean it’s a little heavy!!) Bought this over a competitor as had bigger tank and longer cord. Definitely the right decision as don’t need to keep unplugging. Simple settings and easy to detach hose. Been a long time since carpets have been this clean. (Just to be clear only because, my old vacuum was nowhere near this good!!) My only annoyance is that I didn’t buy this hoover sooner.. So here’s an update nearly a year on (yes I am that sad!!) just wanted to say this vacuum is still doing the job to a high standard. Filters are easy to wash, still have a least half a tank after each weekly whip around. (Mostly dog hair won’t lie). Comes apart easy to clean the tank too, so no nasty smells when you hoover. I bought on a deal, but now would definitely pay full price !!

So far so good! Quite light and compact with good suction. Surprised by how much filth it lifted from my recently Dyson-ed carpets! One star off because the cable is cheap and easily tangled

This is a really good hoover. I don’t know how well it will wear but I am so impressed by its design and its performance so far. It’s replaced a Dyson and quite honestly it knocks it out the park. The main carpet brush is really powerful. I like the light and the pick up is fantastic. Even the way it’s packaged made me think this has been well thought out. The inter-change between stand up and hand held is so well done and so easy to use. It is very manoeuvrable and the vacuum power is fantastic. Great value for money. I can only say that I have been really pleased with it.

Update after 10 months. It died. Customer service from Hotpoint appalling. After pointing out the guarantee & my consumer rights they did send a replacement part but it didn't work. They won't entertain a return, insist Amazon must do it, even though they were the 3rd party retailer. Will not be buying this vacuum, nor any Hoover appliance again. Amazon great customer service by the way. Been using this for about 6 weeks now. It is a dream to use over large areas of carpet, it picks up so much hair/fluff & it's large capacity bin is ideal. Our household has one dog, one cat & I have long hair. Not clogged once. However it is more cumbersome to use on hard floors, smaller areas & around rugs & furniture. Initially I liked the long flex but it's so long I actually end up in a tangle. The wand & hose are far too short. I have to do a lot of bending & stretching when using it. This also means the vacuum frequently tips over in this mode. I am most disappointed in this element of the vacuum. An extra tool would be ideal to help clean small areas, often the main unit is too big & the wand tool is tiny. The sunction power however remains very good in the wand mode. The filters are easy to remove. They dried within a day of cleaning. I wasn't sure how to effectively clean the folded paper filter though. Registration was a faff. The web address on the box & paperwork didn't take me to the right place as the length of warranty didn't seem to match the product. Found the right place after a Google search. For the price I am not unhappy with the vacuum but am surprised it is not a better all rounder considering the Good Houskeeping write up which is why I chose it. It replaced a Dyson v11 Animal which never worked properly against pet hair but have to admit I do miss its maneuverability.

This hoover is amazing, especially for the price. I have had quite a few vacuums in the past and this is by far the best one to date. Suction is powerful, the attachments are great and it is relatively light weight. All in all cannot fault it . Great 👍🏻

This hoover is fantastic for the price point. Good suction, fairly quiet and has the light function to highlight any debris invisible to the naked eye. Modular design makes it simple to clean and unclog. If you want a good quality hoover that isn’t going to break the bank. Can’t go wrong.

I mean what can I say, this guy puts every appliance in my house to shame... He can and WILL suck every single speck of dust in your home. As a long-haired girlie in an inevitably carpetted home in the UK, I'd been looking for the best vacuum possible to pick up on my mess after my previous one tragically passed away. Lo and behold this guy comes in with his headlights, picks up everything like it's kids' play, gives me a little slap on the cheek and becomes the man of the house instantly. One thing to note though is that he is HEFTY. Just from having my fun around (more than necessary, the varying suction functions are just too much fun), I felt pain in my wrist after about 15 minutes, so it's something to keep in mind. Beyond that... I think I might start vacuuming every day just to have fun with him! I'll spare you the pictures, they were absolutely horrendous, but he picked up so much dust it visually triggered my allergies.
