LAFEBER'S Classic Nutri-Berries Pet Bird Food, for Parrots, 3.25 lb | NUTRITIONALLY COMPLETE FORAGING PARROT FOOD: formulated by top avian veterinarians and avian nutritionists

This is another Lafeber product that we use to change up our African Grey's diet. Our prior success from using the Nutri-Berry formulas has helped us keep Socrates happy and healthy for about 20 years. It might have even changed her sex (just kidding) since she was sold to us as a male (hence the name) but has occasionally laid eggs for us. Evidently sexing Greys is not an easy or exact process.Thankfully she loves the Lafeber parrot foods in all the various offerings. She gets a healthy mix of veggies and fruits every day as well as periodic servings of some of the Nutri-Berry formulas during the day. Her favorite treat seems to be a long string of spaghetti, something that is tasty and proves challenging to eat. We often place the Nutri-Berries in various spots in her cage, using toys and small empty boxes to hide them.The berries are also a pretty good delivery system if we ever have to give her medicine. When she contracted a bacterial infection we were able to get the medicine into her by coating her berries with the prescribed amount of medicine. This may not work in extreme cases (please check with your vet) but it does avoid the stress and potential trauma of removing her from her cage and using a syringe to put the medicine in her beak. Feeling unwell can make your bird agitated and aggressive even if their normal personality is calm and accepting. Having an alternative way to avoid injury to your bird and/or yourself is important.Please remember that African Greys spend 90% of their time in the wild foraging for food. Since giving them food directly every day takes the mystery and effort out of sourcing their food, consider making it more interesting/challenging for her/him to seek it out. Hide their food in small paper bags, boxes or toys. Give them half of an apple to pick at and tear apart. Make sure that they have cardboard boxes or paper towel cylinders to shred. It's also beneficial to have a radio or TV on whenever you are not in the same room with them. In fact, for some reason, our Socrates speaks more often when we are in another room. Perhaps that is her signal that she wants us to come back.

Our 27-year-old African Grey parrot is a very picky eater and usually prefers human food over bird food, so we were hopeful but not overly confident when we purchased this. To our delight, he absolutely loves it! It's rare to find a food that he eagerly eats, but this one was an instant hit. We're so happy we gave it a try, and it will definitely be our go-to bird food from now on. Highly recommended for picky parrots!

My Amazon just loves these! She gets a few every evening as a treat and chatters away afterward. If I'm a little late, she tells me "I'm a good girl" to remind me! I NEVER run out of these! Great quality and healthy for your bird.

I find that, even with the shipping costs, I am spending about the same money to order these things online as I would if I had to hop into the car, go to the PETCO, PETSMART or other pet store, and hope like heck that the product wasn't out of stock when I got there. It's much more convenient to get this product by mail. Wish I'd thought to order online years ago! These things aren't cheap, but the bird obviously enjoys them, and the way they're formed into round balls encourages the bird to eat most of the treat and reduces waste, which is a common issue with parrots.One recent disappointment with regard to this product: I tried to send some of them, via Amazon, to a relative's home which has both a street address AND a PO address--either one will work, and the postmaster has NO issue "holding" packages for locals who have a box, and the postman will also deliver packages to the house as well. No matter how I configured the address, I kept getting a notice that the company could not ship to the address in question. It was not an overseas address, it was a street address in a New England town. I'm disappointed, because now I'll have to drag my butt out to a big box store and get the things for the bird, who is travelling with me over the holiday. I think this is something the company needs to address, as I plan on spending more time visiting relatives and this could become an issue.

My cinnamon green cheeked conure loves these. He will go through his entire repertoire for one! Great for foraging activities as he will really work to get it. Nice and healthy too

Like the other review said. treats have stuck together near bottom. For £30 I would expect more in container. My parrot loves them
