Image used to get rid of these off -cuts of unusable scrap timber shows a beautiful wave grained hardwood with a chiaroscuro of a gold/brown similar to a cocobolo, or variety thereof. Received are 4 pieces of a quite bland, straight grain. I have better examples, closer to those depicted in my fire wood pile. Now it has fallen to me to waste a good chunk of my time prepping them and getting them over to the Post Office for return.

2 of the pieces was cat from same piece but vertically, so I’ll make them fish style prayer beads in order to see and enjoy continuity of the wood. 2 of them were totally from different pieces.

Really like these Ironwood scales. Very tough material. Nearly too tough sometimes, have to sand slowly to not burn on grinder. Beautiful pattern on most pieces and nice color anyway. Works very well for knife handles. I have purchased a couple times now. Will again. One big issue this time was one of the pieces was dreadfully uneven (picture attached). Most have been good enough to sand down quickly. This one will take some work.
