Attsky 53.5mm Espresso Puck Screen for 54mm Portafilter

I like these filters for making a decent cup of espresso. They keep the grounds off of the top of the machine and help to get a nice, flat surface to press before brewing. Size and thickness are just right for my machine and they rinse of quite well. I typically just give a quick swirl in the dish water (yes, I was them by hand), then rinse well. I balked at the price for my first one but after using them was fine with buying two more to make sure I always have one handy.

Keep in mind I’m a complete beginner to espresso. Got this to use with my gaggia classic pro. I mainly got this because espresso grounds kept making a mess on the group head. This definitely kept it cleaner! Maybe it was just dumb luck, but I pulled my best espresso shot yet the first time I used this. I measured with caliper and width is 58.42mm, thickness is 1.75mm. Looking forward to testing it more, but definitely adding it to my daily routine.

So far so good, prior to use my coffee was loose and thickness was not always consistent but creates good qualify. Value for the money since reusable which is great. Size fit as description states.

Very first time I put this on top of the espresso coffee puck in the portafilter and pulled my espresso base for a cappuccino, I was impressed with the SUBSTANTIAL improvement in the quality of the drink as a whole. The screen allowed both a more even distribution of the espresso into the cup and a thicker, more compact and visible crema on top the espresso. This meant that when pouring a small amount of steamed milk on top of the crema over an inverted teaspoon and then spooning the frothed milk on top of that, I had a perfect 4 layer - espresso, crema, steamed milk, milk froth - cappuccino, clearly visible through my glass 15oz coffee mug! On the very first time I succeeded in pulling the best cappuccino I have made in over 15 years!!! If you are serious about your espresso or cappuccino or latte, get this, because you'll be VERY glad you did!

Why did you pick this product vs others?: This is a good alternative to paper filters. Keeps the group clean and is easy to remove after the pull without a mess. Recommended.

I like that this little screen keeps the grounds from getting on my espresso machine.

My first order was really good and there were no issues. It fits very snuggly. My problem arose when the second one I ordered arrived and it came with a bit of rust on the bottom side. This was very disappointing as it was completely new and unused…

I'm using it with my Breville Bambino Plus,the puck screen fits well in the portafilter and has made the frequency of the descaling less.
