Is there any reason this wouldn't combine a VHF ONLY antenna with a UHF ONLY antenna?

Will this work with a preamp and allow both antenna signals to be amplified?

You should be able to boost the strength of the signal but if the signal integrity is weak then you are just amplifying the noise in the overall signal. Amplifiers just increase whatever is thrown at them. A weak antenna or weak signal signature won't improve with an amp by much at all. The only way to get better reception is to go big, unfortunately. On a side note, I bought an additional yagi antenna and pointed it in almost the opposite direction from the first to grab another broadcast tower and then combined the signals with the joiner and it worked fantastic! With one antenna, I was getting about 130 OTA channels and with two I increased the count to 180! Some of the channels were repeats but I didn't experience any sync issues from getting time delayed signals from two antennas.

Great combiner, not sure about it passing power

I have separate VHF and UHF antennas, and this Item works very well as a combiner. I was unable to get it to pass power to my antenna (depending on where I look, there seems to be different descriptions as to whether the combiner passes power or not). Super-helpful to have the LTE filter built-in.

Good connection for dual outdoor TV antennas.

I have 2 outdoor digital antennas. Each facing a different direction. This combines the 2 of them to increase my reception. Worked well for me.
