Ghosthorn Telescopic Fishing Rod and Reel Combo,Spinning Travel Kit

I didn't want a super cheap rod and reel, but I also didn't want to spend a fortune. So I gave this a try. I've started motorcycle camping, so I needed something small and durable, but I also wanted a fairly stiff 7' rod mainly for worm and frog fishing for bass. So far, so good. First, lets get the mediocre out of the way. The lures that came with it. Meh. Nothing bad, but nothing special. Used a couple of the jigs, and they seemed to be fine. Caught a small bass. Just generic. Some people complained about the line being garbage. I don't thing I've had any issues. Pulled some 2ish pound bass in through thick vegetation. Also, snapped off a few lures (snagged). But, just as likely failed due to my knot tying as bad string. In my opinion, it's fine. It'll get you going, but have your drag set and you shouldn't have any issues. Anyone buying this probably isn't fishing tournaments or anything, so I think it's acceptable. The rod and reel have been great. Enough power to set the hook on Texas rigged worms. A little more finesse on landing fish, but can power through if needed. Sensitive enough to feel small hits. The protective plastic cover is great for when I want to throw the rod, reel, and a small tackle box in the bike to fish on the way home from work. The case has enough room for a couple of added plastic worm bags (and I keep bug repellent wipes and a small can of fish smell remover in it). It's become my main set up, good value for the price, convenient for when you need a small set up that still is usable (camping and motorcycle). Pliers are good also. Haven't used the fish grip thing. Not my style, except when catfishing. Which I don't do that often, and haven't with this yet. Also haven't hooked what I would consider a "large" fish with it, but I believe it will do just fine. If I get one, maybe I'll update this post with a pic.

collapses small, and fits in my motorcycle bag. little lure box is great but i added to it for the fish in my area. dosnt cast light lures well but it is a medium action rod so you can't expect to cast a 1/64 oz lure and have it go anywhere. lures that fit the rod cast super smooth and decently far for a 6' rod. ive had it about a week and caught a handful of Pickeral and a few smallmouth bass. and the little cap to protect the rod tip is awesome!

First rod. It holds a special place. It’s durable despite being a telescopic rod. It reels really smoothly. Just recently had to do maintenance on it. The telescopic rod makes it super easy to carry around. The color is amazing- im also a sucker for green. And for what you pay? Worth it.

This is a nice starter pole, the 8' is a bit tall for me but it was on sale when I got it so I felt like it was worth it. The telescoping pole is nice for transporting it but unfortunately snaps back against the base of the fishing pole when the tension is more than it can handle, which makes storing your hook on the fishing pole kind of a pain. I also wish there was a designated hoop for storing the hook. The line is braided colored line which is greater to start but not a great line to advance with. I've caught some smaller sunfish, blue gill, and trout so far, but I'm still pretty novice too. The pole was able to easily handle those no problem. I'm excited to work my way towards using this pole for bigger fish but I may invest in a solid-form fishing pole instead of a telescopic one because keeping all the pieces going the same direction can be hard. Overall I think this makes a great starter kit, it helps you form your own opinions about different types of fishing poles, set up a pole for the first time, no problem.

This is an amazing fishing rod. I haven’t had any problems with it since the day I bought it. The line it came with is great, and it includes a lot of it. The collapsible rod itself works really well, too. I like that the cap on the bottom can be removed, which makes it easy to fix or take apart if needed. All of the tools and accessories that come with it are good quality. My favorite is the plier tool. The built-in scissors are really sharp and can cut fishing line in a single snip. Overall, this is a great product, and I would definitely buy from this brand again. If they made other fishing rods like this or other useful fishing gear, I would be interested in trying those too.

I just got the pole and kit a couple days ago so I can't speak to durability, but in terms of the product, it's been great! For context, I wanted something compact and my setup is a cooler backpack, wading in 2-3 feet of water bass fishing along the weed edges in Florida. I just pack the pole and tools in the backpack and go. I also have the option to take my motorcycle to wherever with it because it's all so compact. In terms of actual fishing capability, I've taken it out twice and caught bass each time, a 4.5# one this evening and it did fine. It comes with braided line and, of course, is telescoping so has some rigidity there, so just back off the action a little and it's good to go. The lure set isn't great for bass fishing here (in fairness, it's not pitched as a Florida bass fishing setup) but the tools are nice and good quality. I didn't get the idea of the plastic cover at first but when I collapsed it at the end of my first outing with the lure on, I got it completely - it keeps the hook covered so you can stow it.
