This cricut joy xtra is affordable and can do way more than the cricut joy. Would highly recommend getting this one instead of the joy since this has a sensor and is compatible with a home printer allowing you to make stickers without any problem. It also allows you to do bigger projects than the cricut joy since it’s bigger. You could easily make larger than mat projects with this machine, 3 foot piñatas, larger logos, and it is easy to use. Love that you can make many projects without spending too much like you would with the bigger versions. It’s a great size so you could even fit it on one of those 3 tier carts with wheels and have your own movable cricut station. The downside is that it does not have the scoring option and you won’t be able to engrave. Love this machine and would highly recommend if you want to get into the cricut wagon. It’s a perfect first cricut.

It connects fast to my Mac. The cricut application is needed. I have had it now for almost a year and still haven’t needed to replace blades. Great Bang for your buck in my opinion. Very Useful and solid cutting machine. You can cut various sizes with this.

I have been using the Cricut Xtra for a few years now, and am truly impressed with it's versatility. It's compact, with removable power cable, and the housing and components are very sturdy. It's an affordable product that produces accurate and remarkable cuts quickly. Great for any medium with a width of 9.5in (for smaller sizes, I recommend the name brand mat). Cutting tips are easy to change and are available on Amazon from third-party at very reasonable price. Bluetooth connection is stable most of the time - if there's a problem, unplug and reconnect power and it works, with no risk of losing your project.

This little machine is perfect for making cards and other small projects. It accommodates 8.5 x 12 paper or cardstock without pre-trimming, so it can make many regular-sized Cricut designs simply by rotating them lengthwise. It's super easy to use and it cuts, draws, foils, and supports the Cricut Print Then Cut function. Cricut provides lots of special products to make card making super easy and fancy with the Joy Xtra, but it's also easy to make cards from scratch using third-party card stocks. There are lots of support groups and video tutorials for using Cricut's design software and lots and lots of projects and designs to make as-is or to customize as your own. Cricut mats and blades are inexpensive compared to other brands, and third-party mats are extremely affordable, so replacing a worn mat is no big deal. Joy Xtra pens are also inexpensive, but many other brands of pens can be used, some without needing an adapter. It's super easy to change from the blade to a pen during the making process. I also have a larger cutting machine of a different brand, which is technologically superior to this little Cricut, but the ease of use and huge variety of Cricut stuff (materials, tools, projects, videos, etc.) make this one my favorite. The reasons for deducting a star are that the Bluetooth connection is slow, and it doesn't have auto-sensing technology so the user needs to manually select the material to be cut. Also, Cricut's proprietary software does not allow for the saving of projects in a standard format (SVG files) for use on other machines, but that's a Cricut drawback in general, not specific to the Joy Xtra.

What a JOY ... pun intended for sure. It's so much fun and watching videos on Angie Holden's Country Chic Cottage via You Tube that make it MORE than a JOY. She is a delightful representative for this product; gives in depth information and answers questions and replies to comments left. I am keeping it BECAUSE OF HER!! I wanted a machine that would just CUT ephemera out for me from digital kits I buy on Etsy. AND she had a STEP BY STEP work-a-round for it!!! This is a lot of fun to use, cuts beautifully, and the compact design and quality of the machine make it a properly named JOY!

Absolutely the best purchase I’ve ever made. It’s opened up an endless amount of projects that keep me busy for hours. I chose this one because it was affordable, small, and compact, and it seemed like a smarter financial option since I wasn’t sure how much I’d actually use it at the time. Takes a little getting used to; had to watch quite a few tutorials on YouTube. It is a good size, much better than the regular Cricut Joy. Makes a full sheet of stickers. Yet small enough that it’s easy to store. Does not come with green mat….. which you will definitely need for most projects. Arrived quickly and very happy with the purchase.
