Delivery was fine and the product is exactly as expected.

This is my third pair in this style. I'm still wearing the previous pair - but only for gardening shoes, as they've gotten a bit beat up. Not unreasonable considering they were in heavy rotation for six years. I was looking forward to my third pair, but unfortunately there have been some changes in the material, to a tougher leather which is less supple. The first two pairs I've owned were comfortable from the first minute I wore them. These one's aren't. They hurt my feet to walk in them, because of pressure across the ball of my foot, and the tongue sticks into my ankle and just won't bend, which is not actually painful but is really uncomfortable. I hope that with wear they might get comfortable enough to wear, but in fact they are so painful to wear I find it hard to get the motivation to wear them enough to break them in.

I bought these excellent shoes 3 years ago. After wearing almost every day - I decided to get another pair from Amazon. They doubled in price. They were good value at the earlier price - NOT GOOD value at the higher price!

Bought a pair 12 months ago and they have been fantastic. Worn them every day. The soles wore through so got a new pair. Same size etc. Can't get them on my feet. They are shorter and narrower. The upper looks the same but the sole has changed and the lining too.

Keens are my favorite brand of footwear, and Austins are my favorite model. In addition to the black Austin shoe reviewed here, I also own two pairs of the Austin boot, in black and brown. I bought the Austins for everyday wear and for casual office wear. My workplace is very casual, but I prefer a solid color leather shoe to athletic or hiking footwear, which are more casual than I want. The Austins fit the bill. They would never be considered fashionable, but they at least inoffensive. The signature Keen rubber toe bumpers are less ugly on a black shoe than they are on other colors, and the toe bumper on the Austins are less pronounced than on many other Keen models. The real strength of the Keen Austins are their comfort. The wide toe box never constricts the toes. My problem with degeneration in the big toe joint has almost disappeared since I've been wearing Keens (and other shoes with wide toe boxes), because they don't force the toes into unnatural positions. The sole is sturdy and supportive, and comfortable to stand in all day. The tread is not heavily lugged, but still provides good traction in snow and ice. The construction of these shoes appears to be of high quality, with thick, good quality leather. Like all sturdy leather shoes, they take a bit of breaking in - don't start your walking tour of England the day after buying these.
