Saved my hitch
I purchased these thread chasers because I was having a problem installing a receiver on my Honda Pilot. This $25 purchase really saved the day!The threads were really rusted and no amount of cleaning seemed to solve my problem. I tried a pipe cleaner with rust cleaner...no dice. I went out and purchased an $80 tap and die set which was disastrous. After googling my problem, someone recommended I buy these thread chasers. Miracle!!! And I do not say that lightly. This, along with CRC 03400, fixed all but one thread. It was smooth like butter.I chose to expedite these chasers because I needed the hitch for a vacation. The chasers arrived on time in a small envelope.I like these chasers because you can you a socket to tap the thread, unlike a conventional tap and die set. I found that these were very easy to work with. You can purchase higher priced thread chasers, but unless you are a mechanic by trade, why? These chasers are good enough for the home mechanic. A very good bargain for what they do.

They are ok.
Arrived in a nice pouch. Really disappointed that none of the taps or dies have "USA" or "Made in USA". These are the same thread restore tap and dies as the Lang 2584 sold on Amazon. The Lang ones come in a case and with additional items for a cheaper price. These are very good quality though and fast shipping.

Did the job.
I purchased these chasers to clean out some threads to mount a skid plate on an FJ Cruiser. There are four factory threaded holes in the frame cross members that were caked with rust, and the bolts that came with the kit wouldn't seat all the way. After soaking the threads with some PB Blaster and letting them sit overnight, I used the proper size and applied a small amount of oil to the chaser. I worked it in slowly with a ratchet/socket until slight resistance was felt. I would then back it out, clean the threads on the chaser, and repeat. They worked like a charm and after applying some anti-seize, the bolts went in like butter. These are not super heavy duty chasers, but for the price I was very pleased with the results.

repeatedly I cleared all 4 holes for an easy installation of the hitch
Saved me in a jam trying to install a trailer hitch on my SUV. The bolt holes in the frame rails had 9 winters' worth of rust and debris, I couldn't pass a mounting bolt even β of the way. With lots of spray release oil, and tapping the 12mm thread chaser up, then out, up further, then back, repeatedly I cleared all 4 holes for an easy installation of the hitch. I bought the whole set to use only one size, but since I prefer Japanese made cars anyway, and plan on doing more work on this ten-year old SUV, having a whole metric set puts my mind at ease. Also, I am AMAZED how well the one thread chaser I used held up to HOURS of 'chasing'. No damage at all. I highly recommend.

Very handy for working on old cars and motorcycles
I need these to clean out some powder coated parts that paint had got into. These worked great for that, as long as you remember to go slooow... watch out for cross threading.Turn maybe 5 degrees at a time and then turn it back. Back and forth is the way to go.For not a lot of money, these definitely have a place in my tool box.

Didn't work for me
Threads in the chassis of a Honda Accord (for seat mount) got mucked up and I bought this set to chase the them. They seem well-made but I couldn't get the size I needed (10x1.25) to even start. Not sure what the problem was but I ended up getting a 10x1.25 tap and just running that through. The tap worked fine. I think the starter threads in my case were pretty hosed up.

These are great thread chasers (NOT taps, thread chaser)
If you own an import (I have both Nissan and Toyota vehicles) vehicle, then you need a set of these in your tool box. I use these to clean out the threads before putting screws and bolts back in. When you are working with steel bolts going into aluminum threads, you need to make sure they are clean of debris, otherwise you could very easily strip out the aluminum threads. These are very good quality chasers (these are not taps, taps cut into the threads)!I highly recommend!

Nice Tools for the Price
I needed these rethreading chasers to clean the threads in a motorcycle engine block, prior to installing new cylinder studs. Some mechanics use thread "taps", however these will often remove metal from existing threads. The rethreading chasers did the trick for me, cleaning out the old threads nicely.
