Starrett Carpenter Square - K53M-250-S Stainless Steel Angle Ruler Carpentry 250mm (10”) - Aluminium Alloy Handle for Craftsman Woodworking (Pack of 2)

I got this a couple days ago, the stainless steel rule part is good and nice and straight, however I took it in to our works inspection department earlier where I found it’s not truly 90 degrees, across the 300mm it’s about 89/88 degrees, the aluminium part is trash does feel machined at all, this definitely isn’t starrett, definitely a Chinese rip off

I've had this for around a year. Transported in my tool bag on a number of occasions however the ruler has become loose in the handle meaning it's no longer able to give a 90° reading and is therefore not fit for purpose. Shocking quality from this brand. I own the combi square which is extremely robust but this tool is just cheaply made and expensive only because of the brand name. Contacted Starrett about the quality issue but they didn't want to know.

The xset" of "set square failed" in that the rivets were slightly loose. Hence it wasn't gonna be "square" either. Arrived with a fracture to aluminium handle. Also corners are very sharp, need rounding off. Didn't want it returned so another on way, I don't hold out much hope tbh. You don't get what u don't pay for this time.

Seems solid enough but unfortunately it's not square!

I was looking for a decent square for a while, unfortunately this product is not a case. Perhaps for rough framing jobs it would be fine, but definitely not for cabinet making.

If this is the marvelous Starrett quality that we have all heard of then, all I can say is that you'd be in better shape if you used your imagination (whilst drunk) to determine 90 degrees! Absolute garbage!

Not square

I ordered two of the 250mm try square and they were both out of square

Cette équerre Starrett respire la qualité dès la prise en main. La fabrication est parfaite, avec des arêtes nettes, une graduation très lisible et surtout une précision irréprochable (j'ai testé l'équerrage avec une équerre de mécanicien et il est parfait !), fidèle à la réputation de la marque Starrett. Le corps est solide et bien équilibré, ce qui la rend agréable à utiliser aussi bien sur bois que sur métal. Aucune flexion, aucun jeu — on sent qu’on a affaire à un outil de niveau professionnel, fait pour durer. Un indispensable pour tout bricoleur exigeant ou artisan qui cherche la fiabilité et la justesse absolue. Je recommande sans la moindre hésitation !

Produto de alta qualidade e durabilidade. Excelente ferramenta, leve, fácil de usar, com marcações na lâmina legíveis, com um ótimo desagner bem sofisticado. Ótimo produto.

Acceptable accuracy min is almost true 90°.. but miserable finishing i had to sand it to remove the out of line powder coating paints around the edges and it was some low spots on the sides and also there was some discoloration in the corner when the harden steel ruler meets the aluminum base from the heat of welding spots.. Overall all its functional and comes with an acceptable price tag so you are getting what you paying for i guess
