Perfection
Best tarot book I've ever had. I accidentally dumped my first copy in the dog water bowl so I went back to my local metaphysical store and they no longer had it nor did they know what the heck I meant. I bought a different book that was no good for me at all. After scouring the web and asking on facebook, I FINALLY found this one again and I'm SO happy.

How does the tarot speak to you?
There is a new genre of metaphysical practitioners/instructors emerging from the chaos of the popularization of all things occult. They make it clear that they know and understand the traditional foundations of the craft they practice, but they have claimed that knowledge and turned it into wisdom that speaks to today’s practitioners. Leanna Greenaway is a standout in this new group. The book includes a brief recap of traditional interpretations of each card, but then Greenaway goes on to offer a detailed modern interpretation which makes the card applicable to today’s challenges and situations. I was amazed at how clearly and concisely she stated each card’s implications and insight in ways that were relevant to the real world. She relied on the time-tested work of A.E. Waite and Pamela Coleman Smith to illustrate her book. (The Rider-Waite deck is still the deck which I personally believe contains the most helpful symbolism for those whose interest in the occult extends beyond mere parlor tricks.)I highly recommend this book to well-seasoned card readers as well as newcomers to the craft.(TarotWise.com received a free copy of this book.)

missing major arcana cards
The Judgement card is straight up missing from this book. It goes straight from the Sun (19) to the World (21). So yeah, this is definitely NOT the only book you’ll need.

Missing a major card description!!!!!
I just got this book, just starting tarot and am really excited. I got this book and was really enjoying its simplicity but then I realized its MISSING a description of a MAJOR ARCANA CARD - judgment. I hope I just got a faulty copy or something because this is really embarrassing for the author and her publishing company. If the author keeps up with these reviews, I would really appreciate the description of the judgment card, I'm trying to learn this before I start my next semester at university, thank you.

Not the first book I'd recommend for tarot...
This book is written in a rather jarring way. I did not like the unprofessionalism present in this book. Each card is divided into three sections: traditional meaning, reverse meaning, and modern meaning. Most of the reflection centers around what the 'modern meanings' of these cards are. Extremely little time is paid to the traditional meaning (the entire reason I bought this book), oftentimes just one or two sentences, whereas there are pages upon pages of the "modern meaning". And by modern meaning, I mean these odd storylines that the author has come up with to explain the cards, including talking about how women cannot resist affairs in marriage and will eventually be tempted, how certain cards indicate imminent suicide, etc. I felt that this book was overexaggerated and not at all what the beginner learner is looking for.I do not think this book presents traditional meanings whatsoever. This book also barely provides information on reverse meanings. The entire text gives off an unprofessional tone with the language it uses. Would not recommend to someone just starting off.
