SVBONY SV220 Telescope Filter, 7nm Dual-Band H-Alpha OIII Narrowband Filter

I am using this on a Celestron Origin Mark II the filter is much better at reducing Halos compared to the Origin nebula filter direct from Celestron and for very comparable price. It doss limit the light bands enough that it's difficult to polar align the origin with this filter in place so after polar alignment and initialization you can switch to this filter and while pointed at fairly bright stars get an auto focus . Very happy with the outcome and results from this filter . Highly recommended for the Celestron Origin

This filter fits my Dwarf Labs Dwarf II filter holder perfectly. I has allowed me to successfully image nebula in moderately light polluted areas. Make sure that it screwed into the adaptor correctly and that the adaptor is seated correctly to avoid optical coma. Well worth the money for me!

I have posted 4 images total, 2 whith the SVBONY 220 Dual band filter on and 2 whith the filter off. These where taken whith an IPhone 15 pro and a 102mm maksotov scope in a Bortle 7-8 sky these are single 30 second exposures mostly low on the horizon 20-43 degree above horizon whith intense light glow. It has done an excellent job of removing the light pollution and really showing the nebulas color as well as contrast! I simply can’t recommend this filter enough it’s pro quality for half the price of Optolong filter. The images above are in order the Eagle Nebula messier 16 and home to the pillars of creation the second image is the lagoon nebula messier 8

Use Case: Backyard narrowband imaging under heavy city light pollution. ​I picked up the SV220 filter to see if I could actually get some decent nebula shots from my suburban yard without having to pack up the gear and drive an hour out to the dark desert every time I want to image. Honestly, it has been a fantastic addition to the rig. ​What I Like About It ​Living in a heavy light-pollution zone (Bortle 7) means background glow is always fighting against you. This 7nm filter does a seriously impressive job of knocking down that background muck so the targets actually stand out. Looking at the results I've pulled right from home, whether it's the intricate blue and red details on the Western Veil, the rich dust lanes of the North America Nebula, or the pillars in the Eagle Nebula, the contrast is night and day compared to shooting wide open. Stars stay nice and tight, and it saves a ton of cleanup time later on the computer. ​Things to Keep in Mind ​Because it's a tight 7nm dual-band filter, you are cutting out a lot of light. You've got to commit to longer sub-exposures to pull out the faint stuff, which means your mount and tracking need to be behaving themselves. If your tracking slips, you're going to see it. Pair it with a cooled camera so you don't fight a bunch of thermal noise, and you're good to go. ​Final Verdict ​If you want to image emission nebulae from home and don't want to drop a small fortune on high-end boutique filters, this thing is a total workhorse. Highly recommended if you want great results without overspending.

Purchased this in a set of filters while this was the most important of the set for me it was shipped separately and took a while to arrive but this is a must have for imaging nebula on a budget performs well well worth the cost

This filter is for emission nebula. So I tried it on IC 405, the Flaming Star Nebula and boy did it deliver. My background was very easy to deal with and the colors were vibrant. I had tried earlier with a UHC and it just isn't the same. I know it costs a lot. I bought the 1.25 size because of the close placement to the camera sensor, I only needed a filter of .9 inches. I was right on the edge but my flats do not show any vignetting so I am happy. that is 107 60 sec subs processed in Siril.

Works great for my OSC - 533 MC Pro color camera and using an SVBony Filter Drawer - this is on my EvoGuide 50ED - using it as a main scope at 259 mm focal length guided on an AVX mount!

I’ve had the 1.25” version of this filter for two months and have taken some great images of the horsehead, rosette, Orion and monkeys head nebulas from Bortle 7 skies. I am very impressed with the results. No halo issues at all.

For the price you cannot go wrong. Maybe a little halo's on bright star, but totally expected in this price range.

Pour ceux qui hésite avant d'acheter de meilleurs filtres qui coûtent beaucoup plus chers, c'est un bon achat. Pas certain qu'il va donner la qualité désirée s'il y a beaucoup de pollution lumineuse, mais dans mon cas le résultat est bon. J'ai acheté mieux depuis.

Svbony, and other dual band filter makers like Zwo, place a HEAVY emphasis on light pollution in general and omit the fact that these also are absolutely unsuited for broadband targets. Great for some [not all] nebula. Actually detrimental for the majority of targets. Again, its not just Svbony who are guilty of this. Returned ... otherwise I am a huge Svbony fan.
