This is an excellent portable monitor! Especially if you’re someone like me who’s used to working with 2/3 screens. It’s plug and play, and super simple to set-up. It’s large, the images are bright and crisp, and it has a really simple kickstand where you can adjust the angle however you prefer. It also comes with all of the required wires (HDMI, USB-C, power). Plus it comes with a really nice travel sleeve!! As for portability - it’s lightweight, very thin and slips right into my laptop backpack! Very happy with this monitor.

I am very pleased with my recent purchase of a 15.6" VisionOwl portable monitor. I did quite a bit of research prior to my purchase on Amazon and I have to say that my satisfaction exceeds my expectations. I have a M1 MacBook Pro and the monitor seamlessly fired up by utilizing one of the two USB-C cables provided with the monitor screen (two USB-C and one HDMI cable included along with a very nice carry case and power supply for the monitor). The color balance, screen surface and resolution were a perfect match for my 16" M1 MacBook Pro and has effectively doubled my work real estate in a very portable package. In addition, I was very pleasantly surprised to find that I could also connect the monitor to an older MacBook Pro Retina laptop by utilizing the included HDMI cable to connect the laptop to the monitor and then connecting a PowerBank to the monitor using one of the included USB-C cables to give that older laptop a portable monitor option without being tethered to an AC plug. It was very easy to align the external monitor on the left, right or top of my laptop in Systems Settings. The monitor also physically rotates to provide landscape or portrait mode so one could use it for portrait mode work on the external monitor while keeping one's laptop in landscape. It's impossibly light weight but has truly has outstanding build quality, brightness and color integrity. The matte screen is also a very welcomed feature. The VisionOwl 15.6" monitor is a excellent choice for use with laptops, iPads or iPhones. I tried them all and they work seamlessly. I would also like compliment their customer service. I emailed a few questions about connection options and they got back to me within a couple of hours with intelligent, helpful advice (shout out Fiona). I usually do not post praise or criticisms, but this is an excellent, reasonably priced monitor sold by a company that genuinely acts like they are grateful for ones' business. Highly recommended.

This is a great monitor. It is very big for a portable monitor yet still easy to carry around. I love that it comes with its own case since it's not a standard size that you could buy a laptop sleeve for. I bought this to use as my main monitor for work when I am traveling. There is so much more screen real estate than on my 14 inch laptop. It also plays video very clearly. I have been very impressed with it so far. The kickstand is also very sturdy and it's much easier to use than portable monitors that have the fold over flap as a built-in stand. I have one of those and it falls over all the time. This monitor stays up easily and can be adjusted to any angle.

So far, I am loving this portable display! Every now and then I have to travel for work and I have to work on my laptop for 8+ hours a day. It can be a little hard on the eyes at times so figured I would look into getting me something to carry with me when I'm not working at my home office where I can connect to a big display at my desk. So far I am really loving this product. Watch my video so you can see all of the things I discuss but I'll list them here if you don't want to hear me go on and on! :D - Love the color of the display! - Love how screen feels like it doesn't weigh anything! It's bright but doesn't get hot and I don't hear a little fan going to cool it off. Actually really surprising that it feels 100% cool even after using it for 2+ hours at a time. - The C output connecting to the laptop to create this great display is brilliant. I never knew that was a thing - I thought HDMI was the only way to go but wow, it looks great! - I love that a C-charger into the display trickle charges my laptop. I've been using the screen and laptop for about 2 hours now and my laptop is at 97%. - You don't need to have it plugged into an outlet for the screen to work. It can use the battery on the laptop to power on. - Monitor has audio - In the video I don't show an example of this but I feel like I don't give it enough credit. It's not bad, just felt like my laptops speakers were louder. I might make another review to let y'all hear the sound as well.

18.5 inch VisionOwl portable monitor -THE perfect monitor - I purchased mine on July 28, 2025. I love it! Great size AND very portable... It's large enough so that I use it as an extended monitor at work - great brightness, crisp contrast and excellent text clarity. When I head into conference rooms to host in-person meetings with 10-16 attendees, I slip my VisionOwl monitor into it's provided protected, handled & thin carrying sleeve and easily relocate it/set it back up. Its integrated, steady and adjustable stand is perfect - and the larger-size monitor is such a help in my meetings. Then, when I host smaller my smaller in-person meetings/presentations with 2-3 attendees, I turn my monitor/face it towards them to provide enhanced presentations. BUT - the BEST part: VisionOwl's Customer Service... impressive! While I was registering for the free 2-year warranty and choosing my free accessory, I needed a bit of extra help, so I contacted their customer service... VisionOwl's customer service were not only extremely prompt - they were extremely helpful! They went out of their way to deliver Best-In-Class Customer support - for a great product. And FYI - my free accessory (a very sturdy adjustable stand) -arrived within just a couple days!

Have to admit, my expectations were pretty high, yet this delivered. Bright, crisp images on the screen, works great in tandem with my MacBook Air. Really appreciate the included sleeve case since I was already wondering how I'd be transporting this when doing archival research. I'm relying on the C-to-C connection (power and image) and am curious to see how long the MBA battery will last when they're tethered. Overall, solid purchase decision. No regrets.

Update: I give the manufacturer an A for follow up on this display. They sent me another display to test and I let them know that I would not fudge any numbers. But the new display is much better then the original one they sent me. Here are the best settings to start with as close to a flat color curve as possible on the stock display. Color Gamut : Native Color Temp : User with Blue @ 50, Red @ 50, Green @ 46 Color Tone: set to 49 Brightness : 73 That will put the display into as base a color settings as you can get. I then warmed up the display and ran multiple 300+ point color calibrations on multiple operating systems(Windows and multiple Linux flavors) and connections all tests came out with the same result. The new display has better color response but not quite perfect. Good enough (after calibration) to use for some photo editing on the go if I don't have my calibrated monitor. After testing the monitor for over 2 hours here are the results.... 98.5% SRGB, 80.6% Adobe RGB, and 90.6% DCI P3 I've updated the stars to 4 because I feel that the monitor is closer to claims and the customer service was very quick to respond to my concerns and seems very eager to solve the issues. Use those settings above for the closest color response in stock form and then use a color calibration file if you have the means to get this monitor setup for editing on the go. Older Review: Color Accuracy not even close. advertised as a 125% sRGB accurate monitor. After calibration and measurement with a professional calibration tools the monitor scores 90.7% sRGB, 64.2% Adobe, and 66.3% DCI P3. This monitor is not acceptable for graphic work on the go, extremely disappointing with the false advertising. Buyer Beware... The case is nice, and it includes necessary cables so that is a plus. Unfortunately this display misses the mark big time with color accuracy. I can confirm that this display does work in Linux with a single cable hookup after installing the displaylink drivers so If you want the convenience and don't care about the most accurate colors then maybe this is a good option. 2 Stars for the Linux compatibility and the case. The display is sub-par at best.

I’ve been using the VisionOwl Large Portable Monitor 18.5-Inch for both work and casual gaming, and it has honestly exceeded my expectations. The 18.5-inch screen size makes a huge difference compared to smaller portable monitors. It feels much closer to using a regular desktop monitor while still being lightweight enough to carry around. The IPS display looks sharp and colorful, and the 100Hz refresh rate makes everything feel smoother, especially when scrolling, watching videos, or gaming. Text is clear, colors are vibrant, and the viewing angles are excellent. Setup was very simple using USB-C — one cable handled both power and display from my laptop. I also like that it includes both USB-C and HDMI ports, so it works with laptops, gaming consoles, and other devices easily. The built-in stand is surprisingly sturdy and convenient for travel or temporary setups. A few things to note: * The built-in speakers are okay for basic use, but headphones or external speakers sound much better. * Because of the larger 18.5-inch size, it’s less compact than typical 15.6-inch portable monitors, but that extra screen space is worth it for productivity.

I originally ordered 2 of these monitors to save some money renting TVs/monitors for a trade convention, and when I received them I was very impressed overall with the monitors. The unboxing of the monitors was very satisfying and I could tell they put a lot of effort into the presentation of the unboxing itself (while not the same, definitely gave me Apple vibes). I was also very impressed that it came with not only all of the cables I'd need to run the monitor (power brick, HDMI, 2x USB-C cables), but that it came with a very nice quality sleeve as well (somehow I missed that when I originally ordered the monitors). The monitors are a great size, and I hooked it up to my Steam Deck and really enjoyed the performance of the monitors in general. I'd say that I was least impressed with the audio quality/volume, but it was definitely serviceable. I also like that it comes with a built-in kickstand so I don't have to fumble with the little collapsible stands I've experienced with other portable monitors. Speaking of portability, I'm very impressed with how portable these are for their size. They are very lightweight, and I was able to fit both of the monitors I purchased into a single backpack. VisionOwl has also been an incredible company to deal with, very quick to reply to any emails I've sent. Speaking of which, when you open the box of the monitors, inside the instructions it says that you can email them to register for a free 2-year warranty and a free accessory of your choice, which also got shipped out incredibly fast. Overall, I highly recommend this monitor, and adding VisionOwl on my list of companies to buy from in the future.
