We purchased this mat for our sick cat. She is pretty old now and can't make it to the litter box anymore due to a tumor on her bladder so we have been using 22x23 training pads for dogs which can also be used for cats which we purchased at the store. We needed something with more coverage so we purchased the 82x102 washable pee pads and we put the other pads over it. The reviews were good so I thought we'd try it and it has done the job. The pee does not go through the pad and so will not get to the carpet. Our cat is still eating and drinking so we are not giving up on her and this pad just makes it much easier to clean up the mess if she misses the smaller pads. I hope this helps someone else dealing with a similar situation like us.

I got two new lab puppies and they were eating the small disposable pee pads so I got these blankets and they seem to be great. I actually spilled a big bowl of dog water this morning on it and I was a little upset, but when I pulled up the blanket, the carpet was completely dry underneath, so I would definitely buy again. I just throw them in the washer and wash and reuse. They sleep in crates at night in my bedroom but I let them out every 3-4 hours to pee. I have the corner of the room cornered off by the gates and blankets on the floor I let them out they go then get a drink and back into the crates. Works great. Saves the carpet
