It was like purchasing a quality brown rice single dinner box, but in a bulk size. The color and texture is uniform and can be stored in three (1)-gallon Mylar bags vacuum sealed for freshness and a prepper-recommended 5-year shelf-life (at least). I sifted the rice and found no sign of foreign materials or other organic life that includes any signs of pest presence, worms, cocooning, webbing, moths, or myriad other hidden dangers lurking in some brands (according to video & eyewitness reviews) of those compromised bags of rice. I can only speak for this specific batch of only the "Lotus Foods Organic Brown Jasmine Rice." It is a product of Cambodia, and handles through California in the United States for quality control and distribution. I am also aware not each bag to the next will be as pure as the one I received, but I have confidence you will not be disappointed. I will purchase again if/when needed/available. It is the brown rice I expected. Taste good! If you like brown rice, you will like this one, and it is healthy!

this is a very short-grained rice. While it is perfectly good brown short-grained rice, it completely lacks the distinct flavor and scent of Jasmine rice. Don't know if I simply received a mislabled bag, or if all of their Jasmine rice is like this....just a warning.

Good stuff. Time to re-stock.

Good product, nice and healthy, would get it anyday, but the Seller MUST spend on PACKAGING. A Brown bag paper packing does not help during shipping and neither for use! A rag, cloth or plastic/ polythene packing is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Any day for "brown rice" over "white rice" and this is FRAGRANT- so would take it anyday- except PACKAGING.

Excellent product

If you are hoping for a cheaper, bulk version of Village Harvest Organic Brown Thai Jasmine Rice, 30-Ounce Bags (Pack of 6) , this is not it. While better than ordinary brown rice, the fragrance and texture of Village Harvest is far superior and worth the additional cost. Very sad update (August 20, 2012) (3 stars to 1 star) We discovered the source of the dozens of little brown moths flying all over the house. Unfortunately, they came from this bag of rice, which we didn't realize until we had reached the bottom of the bag. I have had issues like this with brown rice purchased from Asian grocery stores before but not with brown rice from American groceries. Either way, it's not a good thing.

I've been eating this rice for years, and I love it. Brown Jasmin rice is probably my favorite, thus the reason I get it in bulk, like this. I have never had any problems with it, and it's quite a versatile little dish. You can put it with anything, nicely.
