I use a number of Eufy cams so believe me when I say this is one of the best security cams Eufy provide. For starters it supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz wifi. Almost all of Eufy's products only support 2.4GHz wifi so this having 5GHz support was a godsend because the 2.4GHz band was getting real clogged up with some many devices in the area. Set up was very simple and the floodlight is really bright even at 50% brightness, so at 100% it will sear retinas without fail. There are a few things to watch out for when getting this. This camera requires hardwiring to the home power supply as there is no builtin battery, but if you already have an old floodlight you wanted to replace you can easily remove that and put this in. The mounting plate that comes with it has multiple holes to allow it to adapt to existing screw holes in your wall should you choose to replace your existing light, and it even comes with a handy metal hook to allow you to hang the light on the mount while wiring it without fear of dropping the light. When you first power it on, be ready for no activity or lights for a while. I thought I wired the camera incorrectly, but it turned out it takes a while to initiate, and eventually the front led light will appear red. This is when you can connect to it to control it. Remember to set up the camera via usb-c power first inside your house before you hang it up or it will be very tricky to do so after you've gotten it on the wall. The camera takes up to 128GB of microsd card, but if you have a 3rd gen Homebase you can connect to that instead, but you don't need it to make the most out of the features of the floodlight cam. The video it records is very clear, it can follow people around quietly, and the built-in alarm is very loud, deafening people with 100 decibels of screeching. There are 2 camera lenses, the first being a standard lens while the the other has 3x optical zoom for a much closer view of the subject. The camera records both cameras at the same time as well and in 3K quality to let you see scenarios up-close and backed up for the overall bigger picture. My biggest advice if you decide to get this is to make sure to set up the PIR sensor sensitivity and detection areas because the camera uses PIR to detect movement off-camera to swing the camera over to record possible threats. I've had it detect someone from the other side of the road far into the distance. It managed to not only detect them but film them with the floodlights on. Have this configured to avoid having it go off needlessly and waking up the neighbours. Overall, a great floodlight camera! No issues using it so far! Update: oh we have a problem. I have noticed that at exactly the same time every night the floodlights would turn on as if somebody had did it manually and will stay there on until I turn it off. Had happened a few nights in a row now so it’s not a coincidence, something is going on. Appears to be another one of those bugs Update 2: turns out I’m an idiot. I set the Ambient Light mode on to follow sunset to sunrise. This had the lights suddenly turn on at 10:30pm every night and I thought I was being hacked. Turns out that is the sunset time local to me and the setting isn’t what I thought it was. I thought it was a setting to enable the floodlight to detect motion at night but it turns out the Ambient Light mode was really to act as a constantly active source of light like a personal streetlight for your home. After I realised that, I disabled it and the issue went away. 5 stars again Update a year later: I can tell you now this floodlight camera has been amazing. I’ve had these kids who would walk onto my drive and mess around suddenly scarper because the floodlights came on and they knew they were being recorded. They used to mess around on my drive throwing my paving stones around and playing Knock Knock Ginger on my front door. Not anymore since I got this as the kids are from my area and I know their parents. You want a deterrent, get this!

I am really pleased with the p[urchase of our Eufy Security Floodlight Camera E340! It feels like a massive upgrade compared to my previous Google Nest IQ camera (no more subscription fees!). The image quality is sharp and clear, and I feel much more secure knowing that this camera is on duty. One of the standout features for me has been the motion-sensing floodlights. These are incredibly handy, especially when I need to let my dog out in the middle of the night. The lights automatically activate, illuminating the yard and making the whole process much safer. Additionally, I often access the garage to work on my cars on an evening and the floodlights come on instantly, making it much easier to see in the dark. The installation was straightforward, and the camera integrates seamlessly with Eufy Homebase 3 which is backing up the camera recordings. I’ve been impressed with the reliability of the app, and it’s nice to have everything in one place. Overall, I highly recommend the Eufy Security Floodlight Camera E340. It’s a solid investment for anyone looking to enhance their home security with a well-designed and effective camera system.

This floodlight camera has been fantastic and really gives me peace of mind at home. The video quality is clear, the light is bright, and the whole setup feels sturdy and reliable. Setup was quick and straightforward, and once installed it’s been very responsive — the light and camera react instantly when motion is detected. When I first installed it, I turned the light function off because it was a bit sensitive and triggered for everything. I recently turned it back on and it’s been much better, so I’ve kept it running for the last four months with no problems. One big advantage is that there’s no subscription required. The upfront cost is a little higher than some other brands, but for me that’s absolutely worth it to avoid ongoing fees. It’s also great not to have to rely on batteries — being wired in makes it more reliable and means I never have to think about recharging. The AI detection is excellent — it reliably tells the difference between people and pets. It even tracks the neighbour’s cat when it comes into the garden at night, which gives me confidence that it won’t miss anything important. The only small downside is that if you change your Wi-Fi password, you need to go outside and press the sync button to reconnect. It would be more convenient if you could update the details through the app. Other than that, it’s been an excellent purchase.

The camera aspect of this unit works well most of the time, occasionally it crashes when panning the camera manually via the app and ends the viewing session/causes the camera to rotate and recalibrate itself like it does when first powered on. My biggest issue with this unit is the floodlight. With motion activation set to smart (illuminated on detection of a human), I receive a notification on my phone to say a human has been spotted, however, the light does not illuminate unless you are significantly further away from it. The unit is installed as recommended and I’ve previously logged this with support around 11 months ago. After sending videos and logs support acknowledged this was a bug and said an update would be released to resolve this issue at a later date as engineers were busy working on an app update instead. That came and went, 9+ months after the new app was released I’m still experiencing the same issue and there is no fix. I have submitted footage and logs to support again and not heard back. Very poor as with this bug ironed out the unit would be great. Instead I have a floodlight cam where the floodlight rarely illuminates making it not fit for purpose. These issues also aren’t limited to my camera, I recommended this unit to a friend who also has the exact same issues too.

Good quality and syncs with the HomeBase 3 fairly easily. Mains powered so need to worry about battery life and it can be programmed to do extra things like follow people who walk on your property or do a security sweep of the area. They're can be some occasional lag, but this seems to be a "feature" for all Eufy cameras for no apparent reason - however overall very pleased and it gives a visible deterrent too.

Installation was easy with videos on YouTube showing you step by step. I used a 250GB memory card & had the 24/7 recording on. Although it worked it burns out the cards due to the constant recording & deleting. The camera will occasionally ask you to format the card once it’s reached full but does say it’ll recorded over the old & replace with new footage. It’ll hold about a days worth of footage on the 24/7 mode. Motion detection mode will make the memory card last much longer. I upgraded to the Homebase 3 for this camera as I wasn’t willing to swap memory cards out every 1-2 months. & the swap from memory card to Homebase mode was swift, easy & better functionality on offer. No need to remove the camera from where you installed & added bonus the new homebase will move all your cameras over with ease. The new Homebase 3 allows this camera with 24/7 recording to accumulate several months. The picture quality is fantastic & the camera intelligently moves the lenses so that both zoomed in & out both focus on the person, car or dog once it’s detached them. It hasn’t missed a single time I’ve walked past it. Would highly recommend this camera with the Homebase 3 along with a 2TB hard drive.

Have had this installed on the corner of house for over 3 months - no one or moving thing, gets past it even the Fox !. Tracks cars people and pets. Lights work well - very bright, I have them at 10% brightness to avoid annoying the neighbours in the front of the house. Only downside - identifying car reg at a distance is difficult not so sharp. Would expect better from the zoom. But over all the best camera I have so far and I have tried Ring and Blink where, subscription hold one to ransom for additional features. Let’s see how weather prof it is.

Es ist richtig angenehm, alles zentral über die App zu kontrollieren. Die Kamera überzeugt mit einer beeindruckend klaren Nachtsicht und einem hellen Flutlicht, das Terrasse, Eingang und Hof zuverlässig ausleuchtet. Seit Monaten läuft sie störungsfrei – keine Verbindungsabbrüche, keine Neustarts, einfach kontinuierlich zuverlässig. Das sorgt für ein wirklich gutes Sicherheitsgefühl, auch wenn man nicht zuhause ist. Sobald die Kamera etwas erkennt, kommt die Meldung blitzschnell auf die App – man hat sofort alles im Blick. Ein persönliches Highlight: Wenn ich Zeit habe, nutze ich die Kamera sogar ein wenig zur Unterhaltung. Unsere Kaninchen im Stall lassen sich dank der guten Vergrößerung und der Nachtsicht super beobachten – selbst bei Dunkelheit sieht man alles gestochen scharf. Es macht Spaß, ihnen zuzuschauen und gleichzeitig ein Auge auf die Umgebung zu haben. Die Verarbeitung ist hochwertig, das Design unauffällig und stabil – man merkt sofort, dass hier Qualität verbaut wurde. Für mich ist die E340 nicht nur eine Sicherheitskamera, sondern ein multifunktionales Gerät, das Licht, Sicherheit und sogar kleine Unterhaltung miteinander verbindet. Fazit: Wer eine zuverlässige, gut verarbeitete und leicht bedienbare Außenkamera sucht, ist mit der Eufy E340 bestens bedient. Hell, klar, stabil und smart – ein echtes Upgrade für Terrasse oder Garten. Ich kann sie absolut empfehlen.
