Bissell CleanView XR Pet 300W Cordless Vacuum, 3797V

Let me start by saying, I have owned a Dyson cordless vacuum (completely overpriced! with a junk battery life to boot), a Hoover cordless (broke in less than a month), and a Craftman cordless (doesn't pick up much at all - junk)... Overall, I have wasted over $500 dollars on cordless vacuums (got my money back on the Hoover thank goodness)... None of the aforementioned vacuums come close to Bissell! First thing my daughter and I noticed, beyond it being very light, was that it is simple and easy to clean! Pop out can and filters and even the brisseled rollers snap in and out easily for cleaning! Washable filters - Heck yeah. It does an excellent job picking up the hair on tile floors in a house with a dog and three cats! The battery lasts over 30 minutes on the medium setting and at least 20 on high! - we haven't used it much on low) It actually came with a bunch of attachments, which work wonderfully! (I had to buy similar attachments separately for the Dyson. Furthermore, unlike any of the other vacuums mentioned, these attachments stay ON the vacuum when not in use. (the other brands have snap on holders that fall off all the time!) The holder for the wall is well built and holds extra attachments and charges the battery. I would say that my only complaint would be the tube is a bit small and sometimes the hair (there is a ton in this house) gets clogged in the tube. However, this too is easy to clean out and get back to it. Everything snaps on and off so easily. We have used it on carpeted floors but prefer to use the plug in vacuum for that. We like the battery vacuum for the tile downstairs and the stairs themselves.

Update - 12/27/2025. This vacuum is done. It never got any better. I’m making it one star instead of two. It’s a pain to clean. It doesn’t hold a charge. The turbo speed has only ever worked for about 10 seconds bursts, even with a fully charged battery. I honestly wish I had never purchased it I have until 6/20/2025 to return and will most likely be doing just that. I was soo excited to get a new vacuum when the battery on my Dyson started losing charge. I liked that this was similar but had a light. Opened it, followed the easty to understand directions for the wall mount. First thing I noticed is there are 4 attachments, which is nice. However, the wall mount can hold the vacuum plus 2. One more can be stored on the extender if you attach the holder to the extender. That still leaves one attachment needing to be stored elsewhere. I suppose is you have a large closet with shelves that is not an issue but if you live in a small space, it's annoying. However, the MOST RIDICULOUS part is that while the battery is charging in the wall mount the progress lights FACE THE WALL!! There is no way to see charging progress without removing the charger & battery from the mount manually. I called customer service thinking I must be doing something wrong but nope. That is the correct installation. I let it charge for about 30 minutes and then did a quick sweep on the lower setting. It's suction power on that setting is FINE at best. I'll let it charge completely and try the turbo. However, the material says you can only use turbo for 8 minutes. When I was done with my quick pass I went to empty the dust bin. Well, as others have noted, it's not really hands free. I have long hair, a dog (retriever/cattle dog mix) and a short haired cat. Hair and dust get sucked around the filter such that you have to remove the dust bin and the filter to empty it. I am super disappointed. If after more time my opinion changes, I will happily update this review. That seems extremely unlikely.

Its awesome. Cleans up cat litter very easy. All of the attachmenrs make it easy to clean up cat hair off of carpets, beds, couches, etc. Battery lasts a good while, enough for me to clean the whole upstairs floors. Easy to empty and clean filter.

Most important to know: ORDER AT LEAST ONE EXTRA BATTERY WITH THIS VACUUM. While the battery that comes with it lasts impressively long while fully charged, it takes hours to recharge. It cannot run while plugged in either. I found a double capacity extra battery which works better than the one that came with it, but when leaning the whole house, I go through one double cap and some of the other battery. The other issue is that this vacuum DOES NOT STAND UP ON ITS OWN WHILE THE BATTERY PACK IS ATTACHED . iT FALLS OVER. Other than this, it is an excellent vacuum for the moneyand is especially awesome in cleaning up pet hair from all surfaces and with the handheld rotary tool i can even pull dog hair off of the bedspread and furniture. The attachments are good but ony two of them can attach to the vacuum itself and unless you actually mount the charging and storage rack on a wall, its a pain in the ass with the tools all over the place. can fit very well under furniture . Works well on carpet and the hand held does steps incredibly It rarely gets clogged and is easy to clean . Comes with extra hepa filter which is great. I love this vacuum I really do. One of the most important things i wanted was a vacuum that is free standing and not flopping all over the place so that was a disappointment. It works so well i can over look that though . It really should come with two batteries. Battery must be charged before use, so do not plan to use within the first 5 hours after getting it home.

My house has several medium haired shedding dogs and zero carpet - only area rugs. They are varying thickness and vary in pile as well. My current vacuum with "great suction" is unusable on the medium pile rugs. It sucks them up and immediately shuts off. If I turn off the beater bar, it's like pushing a weight sled, and it still doesn't pick anything up. My thin washable rug in my entry way is too thin and also immediately gets sucked up. This is useless because it's the entry way so right now tons of ice melt is getting tracked into the house. So legitimately I was looking for something that wasn't high powered and thought a cordless should do the job. A detachable battery is essential for me, and I liked that this one is easy to adjust the power mode on. I was honestly quite excited to get this. It was a let down. First, the good thing: The power level isn't too much for area rugs. I can't use high power on the washable rug but medium works just great. It works about the same on every pile I tried it on. It picked up the ice melt no problems. Dried chunks of dirt, no problems! If I dropped potato chips on the floor it would probably do a fine job. The battery is easy to snap on and remove. Again, this was a star feature for me, and I love it. The bad: the puny 2AH battery results in a battery life that's basically non-existent on high power. You'll be lucky to get five minutes of use on high. On medium, I can definitely see getting through my whole house on one charge for one battery. A contributing issue is the battery takes a long crawl of 5-6 hours to charge. I personally don't object to the idea of having to recharge the battery after every vacuum, but not being able to actually finish vacuuming my 1000 sq ft house with area rugs without a giant pause of nearly a full working day isn't practical. There's a better solution here with the batteries that involves bigger than 2AH and fast chargers, and ideally, two batteries and a dual charger. It's true that bigger batteries weigh more, so there's a tradeoff. A slightly larger battery and a faster charge would get into the sweet spot. Frankly, with only the 2AH and how slow this charges, it's ridiculous this doesn't just come with two batteries straight from the factory. I had a feeling this would be the situation, but did not order a second battery on purchase because I wanted to make sure it was good enough to keep first. I gave this a real honest shot, because I knew I could just buy a second battery. It does, after all, work for all my area rugs! BUT - here's the deal breaker. It is pretty useless for dog hair, which is unfortunate since this is supposed to be a pet model. What it looks like to me is this vacuum primarily isn't actually sucking the dog hair up. Rather, it just wraps it around the beater bar. If the beater bar is fully wrapped, it ceases to pick up any other hair. It just pushes the hair around in clumps on the rug. If I clear off the beater bar, it does a better job again, but I just don't want to be cleaning the beater bar five times per vacuuming. It's honestly bizarre. I agree with other complaints about debris getting stuck up high in the small canister and needing to reach in to pull things out, but in all fairness, I also have to do this with my Dyson. I really wanted to like this and even with the battery challenge, I thought it would be doable. But it's so useless on dog hair, there's no way around it. I'll be returning it.

Don’t be like Feyre and fall for something that seems amazing; but is actually nothing but disappointment. I REALLY wanted to like this vacuum. I loved our other $500 one, but didn’t want to spend that much again. I figured a trusted brand wouldn’t steer me wrong. But they were glamoured. Let me tell you why this falls short: 1) Tamlin on the outside, seemed capable of protection and safety, but then could not live up to expectations. This does not do well in a house with dogs. I have two dogs and 3 kids, and the canister hole where the pipe meets the canister clogs so easily. (See video) I have to stop multiple times per session to unclog it, and I vacuum regularly. 2) this vacuum has a lot of baggage- just like Tamlin emotionally. To empty the canister, there a way too many steps compared to the Dyson. So many clicks and snaps and locks to undo. Charging is also a multi-step process whereas the Dyson charges automatically in the dock. It’s a needy vacuum system. 3) Tamlin was full of empty promises. Similarly this vacuum fails to keep all the sucked up bits inside once you’re done vacuuming. When you shut it off, a bunch of tiny dirt and flecks and whatever fall out the head of the vacuum and into the floor. Most of the time I have to use a wet paper towel to then wipe up the small bits on the floor. I have never felt compelled to write a review for a product, but when you’re spending on a vacuum and want AT LEAST the basics for over $100 and then it falls significantly short, then I felt compelled to warn all the Feyre’s out there of this Tamlin vacuum. Just get the expensive Rhysand and avoids the heartache.

I purchased the Bissell CleanView XR Pet cordless vacuum about a year and a half ago for my mom, who is in her early 80s. The main reason I chose this particular vacuum was the power switch. Once you press the button, the vacuum stays on without having to continuously hold down a trigger while vacuuming. That was very important for my mom and makes it much easier for her to use. There are a few things I do like about it. It is lightweight, easy to maneuver, and does a pretty good job picking up dog hair on hardwood floors. It also does a decent job picking up dog hair from carpet. Unfortunately, my experience with other types of debris has not been nearly as good. Crumbs, small pieces of debris tracked in from outside, and similar items often require going over the same area several times before the vacuum finally picks them up. This happens on both hardwood floors and carpet. Another major disappointment is the battery life. The advertised runtime is up to 40 minutes, but in my experience, the battery does not last long enough to vacuum an approximately 2,000-square-foot house from start to finish. I ended up purchasing a second battery because of this. The higher-powered suction setting has also been disappointing. When I press the power button again to increase the suction, the stronger suction only seems to last around five seconds before returning to normal. I don’t know whether this is how the vacuum is supposed to operate or whether there is an issue with mine, but that has consistently been my experience. My biggest complaint, however, is the lack of suction along edges. If there is dirt or debris next to a baseboard, in a corner, or along the edge of a sofa or other piece of furniture, the floor head generally will not pick it up. I have to use one of the attachments or sometimes bring out a regular plug-in vacuum to properly clean those areas. I personally own a Dyson, and there is a very noticeable difference in suction power and overall cleaning performance. I would choose my Dyson over this Bissell without hesitation. The only reason I purchased the Bissell for my mom was because she can press the power button once and let it run rather than having to continuously hold down a trigger. If I could find a cordless vacuum with suction comparable to my Dyson but with a simple push-button on/off switch like this Bissell, I would purchase that instead. Overall, the Bissell CleanView XR Pet is lightweight, convenient to operate, and reasonably good for picking up dog hair. But considering the weak performance with other debris, poor edge cleaning, and disappointing battery life, I would not purchase it again and would not recommend it.

I love this stick vac! I had a previous bissell and wore it out. This vac used the same type battery so now I have a back up battery. This vac is light weight and is easy to scoot around the house with. I have 6 cats and it sucks up lots of hair and keeps my house clean.
