Fishing Magnet
Powerful for a small magnet.

great VHS tape eraser !
bought this to erase old VHS tapes before disposal, worked great !... not much use for this outside of what I bought it for for me anyway... I first tested it on a 50 lb metal dumbbell, I easily picked up the dumbbell with zero impression it was going to let go, actually had to get a hammer and tap it far enough off the metal surface to get it off !... WARNING: keep this AWAY from your valuable wrist watch !!! I knew ahead of time to do that - just be forewarned.

Looks can be VERY deceiving. Small can pack big power.
I originally bought this to put on my sewing machine to use as a guide for mother thread to glide when sewing or rewinding a bobbin. It was bigger than I anticipated and was so strong I couldnโt move it! So I bought smaller ones for the same purpose. I now behave attached this one to a metal lamp the hold a Bluetooth speaker. That magnet isnโt going anywhere. I just never expected that something relatively small could be that POWERFUL. Great buy. Worth every penny.

A Magnet of Potential with Notable Caveats - A Balanced Review
After several months of use, my experience with the DIYMAG Strong Neodymium Fishing Magnet has been a journey of highs and lows. Marketed for its impressive 700 lbs pulling strength and versatile applications, this magnet promised to be a game-changer for my outdoor adventures and miscellaneous retrieval needs. However, the reality was a mix of exceptional moments tempered by notable drawbacks.Performance and Quality:While formidable, the magnet's pulling power did not consistently meet the lofty expectations set by its specifications. Its strength is undeniable in ideal conditions, showcasing the potential to retrieve various metal objects from rivers and lakes. The quality of the magnet itself, encased in a durable steel cup and coated with a triple layer of Ni+Cu+Ni, speaks to a thoughtful design aimed at longevity and rust resistance. This protective measure ensures that the magnet's core strength remains unaffected by external conditions, a testament to its high-quality manufacturing standards.Versatility and Use:True to its description, the magnet's design, featuring a countersunk hole and eyebolt, lends itself well to various activities. Its utility is broad, from magnet fishing to retrieving lost items and even some unconventional uses like cleaning up yards from metallic debris. However, the practicality of these uses is hampered by the magnet's actual pulling capacity, which, while strong, may not always reach the heights advertised.Safety and Durability Concerns:A significant concern arose from the attachment mechanism. The eyebolt, crucial for securing the magnet to a rope or line, proved to be a weak link. During a routine throw into a lake, the magnet detached from the rope, leading to a frustrating and time-consuming retrieval effort. This incident highlights a critical flaw in the product's design or assembly process, emphasizing the need for users to secure and double-check all connections before use.Misleading Claims?Feedback from various users, including my experience, suggests that the advertised pulling strength may be optimistic. While the magnet performs admirably in many scenarios, expecting it to lift objects near the 700 lbs mark without direct contact and under ideal conditions might lead to disappointment. Potential buyers must temper their expectations and consider the magnet's capabilities within practical, everyday use. Conclusion:The DIYMAG Strong Neodymium Fishing Magnet stands as a tool of considerable potential, marred by some inconsistencies in performance and reliability. Its construction and protective coating are highlights, ensuring the magnet remains a long-term investment for enthusiasts. However, the issues with the attachment mechanism and the somewhat overstated pulling strength are drawbacks that cannot be overlooked. This product offers a solid foundation for those intrigued by the prospect of magnet fishing or needing a strong magnet for various retrieval tasks. Yet, it's advisable to proceed cautiously, reinforce the attachment points, and manage expectations regarding its pulling power.

DIYMAG Neodymium Fishing Magnet Review
it is magnetized :)

Super Strong
Well I can safely say these magnets will hold a 12x8 flag on a carport even with crazy wind, be careful with these magnets they will smash your fingers bad lol, also if you are going to be moving them make sure you carry a thick screwdriver or something to get them off because they will not come off with just your fingers and man power!

DO NOT BUY. Not even close to the 300Lbs stated pulling force. Reality is only 10Lbs.
WARNING!!! Do not waste your money.Total SCAM.Very disappointed in this purchase and will return it.I have refrigerator magnets that are stronger than this. They state this magnet has 300 Lbs pulling force. (Lbs =pounds right?)Reality, this magnet only has 10 Lbs pulling force. Maybe, 15 Lbs at most.WTF??This company is obviously lying and misleading people. (There's no way that was an accident. 300lbs is way different than 10lbs. No typo. Not a mistake.) They're intentionally misleading people. This company shouldn't be allowed to sell anything on Amazon.Plus, they lied about shipping time, as my purchase arrived many days late.Good thing I made purchase for a hobby, and not as a gift or for something important. But after waiting for item to arrive late, then realizing they intentionally ripped me off, and now having to go through process to return it...... I'm really pissed off. (It's gonna cost me more in gas to return it, than it cost in first place. So I lose either way.)This magnet isn't even close enough to the claimed pulling force. I'd keep it and eat the loss if it had even 30lbs of the claimed 300lbs pulling force.Totally regret making this purchase.I can't even get the satisfaction of throwing it at somebody.Note to Amazon: WTF??? Why do you allow this nonsense?Somebody owes me for wasting my time and the cost of dealing with this rip off.

This magnet is great, with the exception that there is NO RELEASE mechanism. It must be lid off the object!

Good, strong, magnet
A fun toy for me to play with. It is a very strong magnet. Very difficult to pull straight back off fridge; much easier to slide off.I told a friend that I could now go "magnet fishing," and he said, "How do you do that? Just throw pieces of metal in for the fish to eat, then snag the fish with the magnet?"
